Keep an eye on tmonews.com they list out when T-mobile adds specifically low band spectrum in various cities. https://www.tmonews.com/2019/08/t-mobile-deploys-low-band-lte-upgrades-hundreds-cities/

Good to know. Hope that tmo's mvnos would benefit from bands extensions as well. I'm on Mint, there are Bands 4 and 12 around here, fine outside, but I have to rely on WiFi at home, the cell signal inside is weak so, maybe lower frequency would help with that.

Anyone know if band 71 is available on exy international?

You want to get the SM-G920I -- it has some LTE basebands that the SM-G920F does not have.

[Q] China/US Compatibility and Usage for Galaxy S6

I'm looking to purchase a Galaxy S6 but I need it to have international compatibility. I will be in China for much of the next two years (Shenzhen and Hong Kong area to be specific) and have done some research into model compatibility. I have found a few models that I like. Here are the models I have found (all the normal S6, not the edge if it matters):
SM-G9200 (Dual Sim, I believe this is the Hong Kong model, but on Amazon it is labeled as International)
Bands:
2G GSM
GSM850, GSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900
2G CDMA
CDMA 800
3G UMTS
B1 (2100), B2 (1900), B5 (850), B8 (900)
3G CDMA
BC0 (800)
3G TD-SCDMA
B34 (2010), B39 (1880)
4G FDD LTE
B1 (2100), B3 (1800), B4 (AWS), B7 (2600), B8 (900), B28 (700)
4G TDD LTE
B38 (2600), B39 (1900), B40 (2300), B41 (2500)
in which B39 is only in domestic support
SM-G920I (Australian and/or Singapore model (not quite sure), lacks all TD-LTE bands except band 40, but much cheaper than the SM-G9200, similar compatibility otherwise)
Bands:
2G GSM
GSM850, GSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900
3G UMTS
B1(2100), B2(1900), B4(AWS), B5(850), B8(900)
4G FDD LTE
B1 (2100MHz), B2 (1900MHz), B3 (1800MHz), B4 (AWS), B5 (850MHz), B7 (2600MHz), B8 (900MHz), B12 (700MHz), B17 (700MHz), B18 (800MHz), B19 (800MHz), B26 (800MHz), B28 (700MHz)
4G TDD LTE
B40 (2300MHz)
SM-G920F (US International model, lacks all TD-LTE bands, but also much cheaper than the SM-G9200, the reason I mention this one is because I've heard LTE isn't that good in China, but I'm not sure, more on that below)
Bands:
2G GSM
GSM850, GSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900
3G UMTS
B1(2100), B2(1900), B5(850), B8(900)
4G FDD LTE
B1(2100), B2(1900), B3(1800), B4(AWS), B5(850), B7(2600), B8(900), B12(700), B17(700), B18(800), B19(800), B20(800), B26(800)
Which phone will work well in China? I know that the SM-G9200 will work great (from what I understand), but will the SM-G920I work well there too? DO I need band 38, 39, and 41? How does the TD-LTE stuff work with China and which bands are used by who? If anyone could provide some clarity on how it works and which providers over in China use what that would be great. Also if I can get some clarity on the 3G and 2G networks that would also be nice.
Overall, I just want the phone to work as it would in America when I get there. If anyone has any experience with the cell tech in China (specifically Hong Kong/ Shenzhen area), please let me know how it works. I have heard it is not that great in some places and good in others but that LTE is expensive. If anyone uses or has used the service over there I would love some help. What carrier do you go to? How is the coverage and what is the best provider? Thanks in advance!

I want know the band selection of SM-G9200

Hi,
I got SM-G9200 (Hong-kong S6 model) in south Korea.
But, I don't know the band selection method of SM-G9200, so I can not use it in Korea.
In the previous model S5(SM-G9008V) that I have, it may enter in the following way.
*#0011# -> Back -> Q -> 0000 -> UE Setting -> Protocol...
However, S6 does not operate in the above method.
Please share to me a band selection of SM-G9200 model.

SM-G9208 - Bands Supported (1700/2100)

The S6 currently retails for $749 in Canada, but on Expansys it's selling for $591.

My current provider is Wind Mobile, so I need a phone that works with AWS 1700/2100 (T-Mobile)
Taking a look on Samsung China's website, it seems to me that it would be supported, but would I would appreciate a second input.

Project Fi Band Compatibility

I'd like to get an S8+ to use with Project Fi. I know I can buy a Verizon version that will be unlocked and accept the SIM, but I suspect that the Sprint bands will be locked out. I've tried all the codes I know on some friends' S8s, but I cannot find the engineering menu.
My two questions are, then, if I get a Verizon version, is there a way to get into the engineering menu to check the bands? Or, if I pay full price for a Sprint version from Best Buy, will it be unlocked?
Thanks in advance!
Check out this Samsung webpage. Just go to the top to change the carrier to see the information for the other carriers.
Here are the Verizon Frequencies and Data Type:[/B][/U]
2G GSM: GSM850,GSM900,DCS1800,PCS1900
2G CDMA: CDMA800,USPCS1900
3G UMTS: B1(2100), B2(1900), B5(850), B8(900)
3G CDMA: BC0(800), BC1(1900)
4G FDD LTE: B2(1900), B3(1800), B4(AWS), B5(850), B7(2600), B8(900), B13(700), B18(800), B19(800), B20(800), B26(800), B28(700)
4G TDD LTE: B38(2600),B39(1900),B40(2300),B41(2500)
Thanks. Any thoughts on the engineering menu access? I see bands 12 and 25 are missing.
