Samsung screen protector question - Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Questions & Answers

I'm hoping you can help me help a friend. She just got her Note 10+. She is a big fan of the Spigen neoflex protectors. She asked a couple of questions about the Samsung screen protector. What kind of protector is it? Is it a pet type or a tpu. Regardless of the type, is it as resistant to scratches as one of the tpu protectors?

Good question.
I too am looking for more info on this.
I stall have my screen protection on as it's a absolute perfect fit and it's the oldschool plastic protection I missed so much.
I hate those big fat glass protection so this is just perfect but is it worth it that's the question.
Ps. I just tried two different types of plastic screen protection on my note 9 and both of them failed to keep the edges glued on the display and kept coming off so this note 10 screen protection I love.

Tempered Glass for s4 pros and cons over Film protectors?

What the pros and cons of tempered glass screen protector vs a Film screen protector?
My concern about the Tempered glass is that :
--it's adhesive is only on the bezel area and since sgs4 have smaller bezel so it might get detached easily
--Tempered Glass might scratch the glass beneath it
--If adhesive of the Tempered glass became less sticky Dust might accumulate inside
So can you tell me your experience with tempered glass screen protector? I really want to hear from someone who used this screen protector for long time and not on these reviews on youtube since they only used it on the time they review it.
And also does anyone tried using combination of Film and T.glass protectors?
i never bothered because they're so expensive and i screw up the screen anyways so the film type are more easily replaceable
ill probably end up buying 2 or 3 cases and end up using only screen protectors in most situations lol.
to me i rarely drop my phone but i have trouble keeping it out of my pocket with my keys and change, other things. ive been pretty good about it but not perfect.
First off my only problem with tempered glass on my S3 was that it messed with screen responsiveness... Now the ones for the S4 are mostly half the thickness of last years so that should help that problem a lot. The iLoome protector fort the S4 is fully clear and I assume it has adhesive over the entire surface. The sense of mind you get with glass is great. Plus the feel of glass is much better than that of other screen protectors. If you can find one that doesn't take away from screen sensitivity than i'd say it's definitely worth it if you care about your phone.

I have a "Flexible Glass Screen Protector" on my S3 that has adhesive all across the back. I have only removed it once in the couple month's that I've had it. I have not encountered any dust getting between the two pieces of glass. The adhesion has not deteriorated any either. I am very happy with it and I really am hoping I will be able to locate one for my S4. The only draw back that I have found is that the thicker protector limits the cases you can use. My favorite cover before I got the protector was the Seidio Surface case and it no longer can be used. I also like my Otterbox Defender case and I was able to "squeeze" it on after I removed the plastic protector that came on the cover. It's a tight fit, but it does work.

It isn't 6mm thick, that would be +70% the thickness of the entire phone! lol
Maybe 0.6mm, that would still be very thick for a screen protector.
Spigen film is the way to go... $14 for two protectors and easy to install...
Just watched a review of the Spigen Glas.tR and it is also CLEAR!

I had a glass protector on my GS3 (XGear Spectre, I think) and it worked fine - no loss of sensitivity. It did allow some tiny dust in, but it was easy to lift and wipe it out the couple of times it happened over 8 months. And the week before my S4 came in, I managed to drop the S3 on its face...the screen protector cracked, and the phone is still perfect. Looking at the Spigen one next week just because of that.

Okay, I found the ad for the flexible glass protector. I ordered it on eBay, this one is very similar even though it is for the Note 2: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...193&pid=100040&prg=1011&rk=1&sd=230950051927&
I love this screen protector and am hoping that I will be able to get one for the new S4.

I also had the one everyone was talking about at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920757
But, like someone said previously, it had adhesive only on the outside edges and dust or dirt could get underneath the protector.
I ended up breaking it on the corner when I removed it to clean beneath it.
That does look like a nice one.
I bought the Spigen Slim Glass screen protector and I am 100% satisified. Zero less in screen sensitivity and it feels smooth as, well, glass

That's awesome. Which one did you get? .TR or .T? I didn't like the one for the s3 but apparently this one is better as the adhesive is all over.

Spigen GLAS.t SLIM = non-rounded borders - (0.23mm) - thinner
Spigen GLAS.tR SLIM = rounded borders (0.4mm)
You're correct the t is the thinner material. Either way it feels great and installs fairly easily.
I had the glas for the s2, I LOVED(easy to clean the screen of finger oils) it, however, it attracted dust underneath the screen protector due to adhesive being only at the edges, I took it off after a couple of months. With the full adhesive, i will definitely buy again for my soon to arrive S4. Especially since I just dropped my s2 face down on the ground and broke the screen a couple weeks back (without case), the glas would serve as a shield.

Best Glass Screen Protector?

Hey guys, new here!
So I've been researching a lot on screen protectors and based on my past experiences with screen protectors, I love Spigen's Ultra Crystal and Ultra Fine, but I've been really loving the look/feel the glass protectors give off. So my question is, what do you guys personally think is the best? I've read that Bodyguardz Pure has a better oleophobic coating than Spigen's GLAS.t/tR. I've pretty torn, I really love the round borders for anti-chip reasons, what do you guys think?

I would go for the Spigen's GLAS.t/tR, I've seen it in the Iphone 5 of one friend and is amazing. It's the one I bought already and waiting for it to arrive with the Spigen Hydro Case Red Dante Combo!

I could never again put ghost armor on the screen of any phone I own. The feel of that crap compared to the Spigen glass protector is worlds apart. Now the sides and the back, I would still consider since that doesnt matter to me as much.
Spigen makes top notch screen protectors and since these are full adhesive I would use the Glas.T or Glas.TR
Please feel free to take a look at my complete tempered glass list thread: Link here
I personally purchased iLoome due to best glass hardness (both black and clear, I will see which one looks better).

Did you install the ghost armor when you had it? Just asking because I been using the ghost armor on my last three cells and I loved it. Never had any issues... I personally did not install it the worker in the booth I go to at the mall always installs mine.

I always had the employees install the ghost armor. Ghost armor is decent, but if you ran your fingers across the spigen glass screen protector and your ghost armor I just feel like its night and day difference. The spigen truly feels like the phone has no screen protector on it. I also know for a fact that over time the ghost armor/zagg they start to develeop nicks, etc. I dont know if the spigen will show any wear over a period of time but I tend to believe it wont. This is my first experience with the glass on my phone as I have been a fan of the Invisible Shield HD ones for my last few devices.
BodyGuardz Pure causes choppy digitizer response on my S4A
FYI, check it out here
One question: what's the point in having a screen protector if the glass of our S4 is already scratch-proof?
It's something i always asked myself. I once used to put plastic screen protectors on my phones but now i stopped and i had never had a scratch on the screen of any of em.

That's great. It doesn't help at all with the discussion about the best glass screen protector though.
Side note: Some people don't want to take the chance. Sand will scratch the screen. You have been lucky to not get a scratch, but it can and will happen most of the time. Happened to me on an original HTC Vogue and I have been all screen protector all the way since. My last 5 phones have never had anything touch the actual screen except for a micro fiber cloth haha.

There's no such thing as a "scratch-proof" glass - only scratch resistant.
Take some sand and rub it on your phone. The kind of thing that happens when you put your phone in your pocket after being on the beach for any period of time (or four wheeling in the dunes, or whatever).
The screen protector is a sacrificial layer. If/when it does get scratched, you toss it and put another one on...
Not to mention drops as well..
I've used Zagg's Invisible Shield on all my smartphones. Have the HD on my S4 right now, but find the Tech Armor ballistic glass ones pretty intriguing.

Anyone try Skinomi?

With all the talk about the 2.5D glass I was looking at the non-glass screen protectors on Amazon....the Skinomi gets 30+ people giving it 5 stars which makes me VERY suspicious since NOT ONE of the reviewers mentioned if it fits over the edges of the curved glass or is cut just to the flat part.
Has anyone personally tried a Skinomi on their Note 4? If the reviews are to be believed then this could be a winner for me.

because it's wet screen protector. it's going to fit very well on this device. once it dry it's going to be really good. I am going to get one soon.
If it's the same as their other screen protector, it'll have a soft slight tacky feel to it and your stylus will not run smoothly on it. I have skinomi skins on my note 3 and gear and I don't use their included screen protector on the note 3 cause of this.

What Plastic Screen Protectors are you using on the Note 4?

What Plastic Screen Protectors are you using on the Note 4? I'm under the notion that typical PET film is compatible with most cases.
I got the Zagg HDX screen protector and I'm pretty happy with it. I was hoping for tempered glass, but I don't think that's going to happen any time soon. The HDX protector was easy to install and it feels great. No issues with s-pen making divots or marks so far (been about a week of use).
INITIALLY... like immediately after you put it on, it feels a bit "sticky" when you run a finger over it. Just clean it off though and it's fine. Must be some residual "sticktion" from the films that cover the film prior to install.
+1 for the Zagg HDX. It's more expensive, but well worth it. The glass protectors look funky on this phone, and you can barely tell the Zagg is on there except for the somewhat sharp edge. I usually go without a protector, but the Note 4 is VERY scratchable... I had several light scratches in the coating that could only be seen in the right light only after a few days of use, so I had to get the protector.
I can rest-assure you its very hard not to get even the tiniest scratch on the shiny metal portions of the Note 4 especially the first time you put the phone in a case. When buying new, the device jostles while in transit, and I've seen scratches in areas where no one will see; that's just me.
Is the HDX as thin as one of those cheap plastic screen protectors found on eBay?
The HDX is a little thicker than the cheap ones. It's a multi-layer construction and provides impact resistance. It's still thin and flexible enough that it handles the slight curve at the edge of the screen and doesn't halo or anything. AND... I'm using the Samsung case and it works with that perfectly.
I'm currently using the iCarez film protector and it does not fit with my Seidio Surface case because it's too thick. Has a bubble in the lower left corner I can't get rid of and when I put the phone in my Akron Mega Grip car mount the side arms cause a large bubble on the left side. Not sure how thick it is but hoping for better results with the Zagg HDX which is 1 mm thick. Also don't like S Pen feel with the iCarez film.
I've been using Spigen Steinheil screen protectors since I first got a Motorola OG Driod. The Steinheil have always been durable and protective of my screens. I have a Spigen Steinheil Crystal screen protector on my Note 4. It works well and doesn't interfere with the native screen. They come 3 in a pack.

Case with Screen Protector Possible?

I had a previous case with a screen protector built in for my S9+ and it worked great, but I'm having issues now. I found this one:
Case with Protector, but it says not compatible with fingerprint ID. I assume this is because of the fingerprint built into the screen?
Does anyone know of a case that has a screen protector AND works with the fingerprint reader? Or is the built in protector not possible due to the fingerprint reader in the screen now?
I would assume no built in screen protectors will work..in order for the FPS to work, the screen protector has to basically be attached to the screen with zero air gap between phone and protector..

and this was on the S10+?
For screen protector I would go with whitestone dome. For me it acts the same as if I had the preinstalled samsung film. I would then go on amazon and check out reviews and questions for whitestone dome. People tend to post their comparable cases. I am using the UAG Monarch and it fits without a problem.
I HIGHLY recommend the Whitestone protectors. The adhesive makes them SUBSTANTIALLY more chip/crack resistant and the touch sensitivity is light years ahead of other protectors (like ZAGG). It was my go-to on Note and now S10+.
I am a minimalist and finally found a case that's thin but also adds SOME protection. TORRAS on Amazon. The hard plastic has a matte finish, amazing touch and feel but little protection. The silicone option is thin, has ridges to protect camera and screen but slides in pants and pockets easily. It DOES offer drop protection relatively.

I actually just picked up the TORRAS Slim on Amazon, not sure if it's the same one you have. Currently I'm using the Spigen Rugged Armor... but it's too thin in my opinion.
