How do you schedule text messages using the stock messaging app. I want to use the stock app so it will work with Bixby.
Thanks in advance
Press the small 4 box icon beside were you type your text messages and then you should be able to select schedule messages.
Tried to upload pictures but had network issues.
Edit seems was able to see below
Here is a picture of the icon you should see.
Once selected this would appear.

Thanks! That worked perfect.
Here my question, I have a scheduled text going out at a later time to several contacts. However, I want to edit it but cannot find it. How do you view a scheduled text going out to multiple people?

Search for text using magnifying glass search button. Didn't figure out how to re-edit it once scheduled though. Editing worked fine under Pie
I figured it out. After trying to do a search to no avail. I just happened to be scrolling through my conversation list and when I got to the bottom I saw the scheduled text to my group of people that I wanted to change so I just had to scroll to the very bottom of my conversation list to find that scheduled group text.
To edit your schedules text, just click on the" [emoji790]" clock next to the text. Then you'll see options, one of which is to EDIT.

The built in app used to separate messages and you could scroll through them when replying. Now it joins all messages from one user and if you quick reply to one person you have to open the app to see new messages from different people.
Am I confused or was this the case before the current type of messaging in AOSP roms? How can I get this functionality again?

He's talking about how it used to be on cm10.1 where in the quick reply, you could swipe through the popup to reply to multiple senders if you had multiple messages waiting. Not sure what happened to it, but AOKP allows you (when you have multiple senders) to select the person you want to reply to first when you select quick reply.

Yeah exactly this. I liked that functionality better
Maybe I should take this question to a cm thread since it is for sure a feature from that.
Sorry if this was discussed but I think I just went through the last hundred threads on here, and when I 'search' for hangouts it gives me zero results
So onto my question; am I the only one mad and annoyed that there is no dedicated text messaging app? The only way to text someone new is to go to people> scroll to prison> click their name> click the text message icon....? Really?
Because when clicking the '+' button in 'hangouts' it only opens a new "hangout", and as I learned yesterday hangout and sms isn't the same, after someone texted me back saying "did you just send me something? "..
Why do they have to make such a simple a decades old thing so complicated and dumb?

You're doing it wrong...
Press the + in hangouts. Start typing a name, number, etc. Matches will drop down and choose the one that has the SMS icon.

Moving SMS/MMS app from AOSP 4.3 is the best way, I guess
I don't find it complicated at all in fact it pretty simple.
I don't need to go to people app to text someone new, I can do it straight from hangouts. I just click the "+" and then pick my contact and right from that screen without any extra steps i can select either SMS or hangout as the new conversation type.

+1
Replace Hangouts with 8sms which looks like the good, old SMS app from AOSP:

Don't forget to define 8sms as "default sms app" in settings and you're done. For me, this is much better than using Hangouts...

all you need to do is open hangouts, click the + button, then if you want to call Phil, type PHIL.
you'll see phil's mobile number, his work number, his home number, and you'll see his hangout email address.
click on the one you want to send him a message through....... that's it........ that's not too hard.
Thanks guys that's a lot better, I even hate the hangouts icon looks more like a iPhone icon than a text.
On a sidenote.. damn, clean android is very boring and NOT customizable at all. I need aokp asap.

I personally prefer chomp sms (they're working on updating it for 4.4) but their other texting app, textra has been updated and I'm liking it quite a lot actually.
Give it a try. It doesn't have the most customizations but probably more than 8sms. It's not bloated like go sms or handcent

Thanks, I tried it but I really dislike the icons and especially in the notification bar.

Yeah I agree with you. I don't like how it defaults to using chat instead of texting. A lot of people at work have iphones, so I need to actually text them, not use hangouts. It isn't too big of a deal, but it takes an extra step to select "SMS" instead of in 4.3, just typing their name.
When i turn the bezel left, I can online read and answer to received messages. If there are no messages, I am not able to create one, as the three dots on the right site are missing. Also going into the list with all apps, there is no messaging app. In the manual it is displayed and described differently.
Is this the same for everyone? Or something wrong with my device(s)?

When I go into Apps, I have a Messaging app, from which I can send texts. Is your watch updated to the latest version?

yes, it says I am on the latest version.
I see on pictures the messaging app at second position. However unfortunately for me, the messaging app doesn't exist in the app menue.

What phone is the watch connected to?
Sent from my SM-G925P using Tapatalk
Tried with LG G2 and Sony Z3 compact, inklusive factory resets of the S2 in between. Both phones should be compatible according to Samsung.
Non Galaxy phones don't get the email or messages apps, however, you can assign the Messages app to the double press Home button settings option under Device settings on watch. It is slightly limited, in that you will only see your side of text thread, but I created a text to the people I text most and jump back there to text them. You can also initiate a text via the Buddy app, and those texts go to the Messages app. So see if you can assign Messages app to double press Home button, use Buddy app to create a text to someone, send it and reply to them via notification. Should you want to text them again, double press Home button while on watch face, and select them and text them. Lather, rinse and repeat. Maybe not ideal, but totally workable for me.
I'm using an HTC One M8 and I finally got it paired after a day of trying. But now when I get texts I can't reply to them, I can only view them on my phone. I've used the default messaging app on my HTC as well as google hangouts. Any ideas on how to get it so I can reply via my watch?
Text to Speech
Is there a setting I'm missing to get this option working. I highlight the area as if to copy and paste, then a few things pop up but text to speech isn't there???
Thanks

Looks like it. You can switch to the contacts tab and it shows your favorites at top...but yeah, I know that's not the same. Not sure why they got rid of it.
This sucks!!! I wonder why they removed it coz I find it very useful

Looks like they changed it to PIN TO TOP. Select your person from text app, tap on menu on top right, now look at the bottom for the feature. Think of Twitter pins.
Your pinned texting contacts won't be listed horizontally, just at the top of you list.
I'm on Tmobile note 7, it it makes a difference
Hate that they removed this feature. Pin to top doesn't work for me cause if I get 4 messages I don't even the last message unless I scroll down. I'm now missing that I got a text if I get to many at once. I get allot due to work and PS was a blessing for me. I hate the new app now
