Can't get into Download mode - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Doesn't matter what i do, if i press vol down + home + shutdown, i get the screen where it says that i'm going to install a custom OS and i have to press vol up to continue to access to the Download mode or Vol down to restart, well, seems my S6 gets frozen in that screen and i cant access to that download mode, i can access to the recovery, but odin never recognize my device when is in recovery, only when is turned on. So i can't install anything since i can't enter to download mode.

Assuming everything is stock, stock recovery and stock rom, have you tried booting into recovery and performing a factory reset? If you're able to boot into the operating system you may want to enable USB debugging in Developer Options first.

The 3 button combination in order to start the phone in Recovery Mode (where wipe options are) should be volume UP + home + power.
Avoid the volume DOWN combination because that is for Download Mode.
Try start in Recovery Mode several times because sometimes the proper combination timing is not detected.
If really the phone can't start in Recovery Mode, you should flash the official firmware again via Odin, following the procedure with caution. An important, sometimes overrated action related to flashing via PC is that any antivirus (firewall mainly) must be turned off before the flashing procedure, in order to avoid (invisible) conflicts when transfering data through USB ports.

First of all the boot up loop is caused because you have not wiped the cache and dalvik cache (may be).
Since the recovery is not booting means, there is some error with flashing.
What you can do right now is to flash the Original Stock Rom using Odin, the original stock OS itself contains the recovery partition.

[Q] HP Pro Slate 12 - recovery mode and factory reset both disappeared!

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry if I post this question in a wrong section but there is no thread for my device on xda.
It seems like I ruined the recovery mode of my Android tablet. It's a HP Pro Slate 12 tablet with Android 5.1.1 on it. It's rooted. I wanted to install CWM Recovery to backup everything, but my device wasn't listed as a supported device. My friend told me I can install the LG G3 recovery instead because it's compatible. I installed that. Since then recovery mode completely disappeared. The device still boots in normal mode and works, but I cannot boot into recovery mode anymore. I really need it because the device boots normally but sometimes acting strange since I rooted it. I'd like to try unrooting it by going into recovery mode or doing a factory reset, but both options disappeared.
Here's what I've tried:
- I Googled this problem very thoroughly, but didn't find any help aside from "hold down 2 buttons to go into recovery mode" type of answers.
- I tried holding down volume up+power buttons while turning it on, but didn't work.
- Tried holding down volume down+power. Nope.
- Tried rebooting inside Android into recovery mode with Quick boot app. It rebooted my device but again it went into normal mode instead.
- Tried to reboot into recovery mode with ADP and FastBoot in Windows. ADB recognized my device (listed the serial number), Fastboot didn't recognize my device. So I tried to reboot into recovery with ADB. Same stuff happened. The device rebooted into normal mode.
- Tried to do a factory reset. DIDN'T work! Rebooted into normal mode once more. The factory reset hasn't deleted anything.
- I have the latest available update.zip from the official website for my device, but without recovery mode I cannot install it.
Any ideas? Did I really lose the possibility of recovery forever with a single click?

Hello did you find a solution to your problem ?

[Q] Stuck on Samsung logo, best option for me?

I can't seem to power this off.
Unless I'm doing it wrong, can't seem to get it into recovery.
I haven't rooted this, all stock, but I think ****ed up by using the Package Disabler.
Is reflashing and wiping my only option?
Would like to save my data obviously, most is backed up I think.
Try this

Just enter download mode (vol down + power) - then reboot holding vol up and power, should get you into recovery.
or just do a factory reset and i hope you backed up all your apps in the samsung cloud because thats a easy restore after problems like thisl
sometimes you have to try dozens time to get into recovery mode...
So I can get into:
Downloading mode
Recovery mode
Can't get into Safe Mode
I know how to wipe and start fresh, but anyway to save my stuff from Downloading mode or Recovery?

No, no way to save your stuff. But maybe this is a good lesson so that in the future you always do a backup to the samsung cloud before disabling system apps or any tweaking to the system

Just flash the same stock ROM over the top with ODIN (AP section only), you won't lose anything

[Completed] Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 (P6800) Help, stuck in recovery mode, cannot enter download md

Hello.
I have recently attempted to update my P6800's firmware from stock Android 4.0.4 to a custom 4.4 version (one of Daniel_hk's firmwares.)
I have wiped data cache and user data, and the firmware, when I attempted to install it, gave me an "E: signature verification error" error. Attempts to reboot or to install a stock 4.0.4 or 3.2 firmwares from the microSD card failed with similar errors.
I was told I can flash the device via Odin, reducing it to 3.2 and then upping the versions properly, but I cannot switch the device on into download mode, because it is stuck in usual recovery mode.
Please help.

The options I get are
Reboot the device
Install stuff from SD card/navigate on SD card
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
Apply update from cache.
Which of them is the option you describe? Do I need to put the bootloader on the SD?

Greetings and welcome to assist. You are in stock recovery there so the option to reboot to bootloader is missing. You should be able to power down the tablet then boot into download mode with the power button and volume key
Good Luck

Do I need for it to fully lose charge? It just switches on to recovery if I let it run until the battery is dry, then charge it again. Powering it down treats the power button as enter button, so I cannot actually switch it off (unless I am doing something wrong.)
Thanks for the welcome, I appreciate your help.

There are only the power button and volume button on your device, no physical home button like a phone ? If press and hold volume down and power the phone should reboot showing the samsung logo. Let this happen twice then let go it should go into download mode

Problem while rooting

I tried rooting my brand new Mate 9. I unlocked the bootloader, but the wipe that followed failed for some reason. In the eRecovery there's no option to Wipe Data / Factory Reset and when I try to log in at the start screen, the keyboard is not showing up, so I can't even log in. Tried wiping through ADB, but it doesn't even see the device. Any other way to wipe it, so I can proceed with installing TWRP and rooting this sucker. Thanks in advance!
You can boot to fastboot and flash twrp.
While the usb plugged in,hold volume down and power, when the phone vibrate remove power button and keep pressing volume down.
For stock recovery, remove the usb, hold volume up and power and when you see the logo, remove power and keep pressing volume up.
You can copy a keyboard apk on ur sd card and install when you are in the system, just skip the log in screens.
Thanks! I managed to install TWRP and boot to it to do a factory reset, thinking that it will resolve my login issue. Now I'm stuck in bootloop.
And if I try to boot into TWRP again by pressing Volume Up + Volume Down + Power it boots me into eRecovery that wants to perform an update, which after 5% fails saying: The update package does not exist.
So I can't even get back to TWRP nor the system.
Any advice to resolve this?

well to boot into recovery just use vol up+power and release once u see the huawei logo.btw when your factory reset fail during unlocking BL you can manually boot into the system and reset thru settings again.
Never do factory reset via twrp. It does not support huawei's data partition.
To avoid bootloop, just flash stock recovery and do factory reset with it. You need flash additional stock zips to restore additional apps and themes.
I had exactly the same problem as you. After rooting and start wipe, the factory reset seems had not finished well and the phone booted to lock screen with password field, but without keyboard...
Only procure that worked for me was rebranding the phone and installing another full room using Funky Huawei. Yes I know it is a paid service but I believe you will be happy to know it can help you.
Good luck
