So since 2014 Xiaomi decided to disable the feature to sideload themes as mtz files. The option is still there, but it's only for theme designers with an activated flag in their xiaomi account.
The workaround for MIUI v5 was:
Install WSM Tools (A customized Xposed Framework to work with MIUI ROM)
In WSM Tools download the "Mi - Tools" Module
Sideload an mtz theme
There seems to be a problem with MIUI v6. I heard if using WSM Tools on v6 many bootloops occur according to here
But after some googling I've found a guy on MIUI EN forum that says everything works more or less on WSM Tools 2.3.5 + Mi - Tools 2.0.7 here
In the chinese MIUI forum other members are also recommending the combo WSM Tools 2.3.5 + Mi - Tools 2.0.7 here

ROOT NEEDED
Introduction:
Right now the new Screen recorder that MIUI developed is only available on the Beta roms, but it can be some what easily installed on the Global Rom.
Instructions:
Download the app from APK mirror
Download the attached file which contains the libraries needed by the app to work
Copy the two files named "libMiuiScreenRecord.so" on /system/lib and /system/lib64 respectively. They have the same name, but are different files, so don't get confused.
Assign permissions rw-r--r-- 644 to the copied files (or use MiXplorer Beta to copy the files)
Install the APK downloaded from APK mirror.
That's all.
Bugs:
The app can't record internal sound (at least on my device. Needs more testing). Aside from that, it can record from the mic.
Notes:
The process of copying the libs was made with the app MiXplorer Beta, so I didn't have to worry about assigning permissions to the files (apparently the app assigns the permissions automatically).
You obviously need root.

I just tested on my RR1S, which has Miui 8 6.8.11 beta and it works, so it should be crashes on the mi4 with miui 7, waiting for any version for miui 7

It's same as original. Use it only if original version can't be installed. Like in some custom ROMs. So if original version is working, no need to install modified one.

Reflash current ROM or
Go to system/priv-app & delete folder nexuslauncherprebuild. It'll get removed.

I only asked because the notification dots were working in the Pixel Launcher 7.1.2.
I have a Nokia 8. I guess I will have to wait for Android O update to get this feature back.

I have the original installed on my current ROM (current unofficial DU for Galaxy Nexus). While I don't have the Oreo-style notifications, it's actually cleaner than the original Pixel Launcher. I will likely swap the flashable version to gain Google Now integration - and I definitely like the cleaner approach this launcher takes compared to the launcher from the original Pixel.

I actually first saw about the launcher on Android Authority and downloaded this few mins ago.. and now using it?
Not working for me sony xperia Z2 6.1mm
I flashed by recovery
Not working neither in my Blackview R6 (Mediatek chip) with Android 6.
When I open the launcher, it crashes.
But the idea it was good, so, ny other option is continue using the older version Pixel Launcher that works good in my device

2.Download calibration_cad.xml.
3.Install Es File explore or use any other root-enabled file explorer.
4.Move calibration_cad.xml to /system/etc.
5.Download and install BuildProp Editor from the Play Store.
6.Open it and add this line: ro.config.calibration_cad=/system/etc/calibration_cad.xml
7.Install one of the following modified Google Camera APK from Given Liken
8.Reboot u r phone
9.Open up Google Camera and look for AR Stickers in the menu.

Ar core has stopped working.
I tried this on miui 10 global 8.7.17 beta. It shows ar core has stopped working when using ar stickers . I also tried several ar core apps . The problem seems to be with the ar core app . Any solutions?
Edit : I got it working just needed to restart the phone . Thanks a lot love this . Also other ar core appd like measure doesn't seem to be working .

I install this on Pixel Experience ang i got a bootloop, have to copy again build.prop

i have a slight problem that every time i reboot the phone my calibration.xml file keeps dissappearing and i have to copy again to system/etc to get it working . any workarounds ?

I've just built this into a Magisk Module that's working for me in Pixel Experience PIE. Waiting for OP permission before submitting.
It works with AR Stickers in Google Camera but doesn't work with other ARCore apps such as Measure.

I know that goodlock doesn't work on OneUI Core devices but aren't there any modules that work on the galaxy a12 or any way to install them even if you've rooted your phone.

Nice lock is just another client like Goodlock for opening the modules and is available in any region unlike Goodlock. So if the question is can goodlock work on A12, then yes but if you have a rooted device

I'm afraid root is not enough, OneUI Core does NOT have GoodLock stuff implemented inside the fw.
The only way to get GoodLock working is to run full OneUI, in this case a port of full OneUI.

It helped in two ways:
1. To use Lucky Patcher to make patches to android and disable signature verification in the package manager which installs a magisk module that does this.
2. To use Split APK Installer to sign APKs and use it's rooted installer method to install the modules
Also I'm using your patched Goodlock apk from your website and nicelock too

A guy posted the tutorial here in this forum but the XDA team flagged it as illegal modding. I also found the tutorial in the Hades ROM Telegram channel where I know you are an admin

I did not know because i never had a device running OneUI Core, i only knew it doesn't work.
At some point in the past, probably on android 9 or 10, i also unpacked OneUI Core SystemUI and some other apps/jars from the fw, and found many things GoodLock modules need to be missing (for example SystemUI lacked java support for QuickStar), that's why i still am a bit sceptical everything works natively, but maybe Samsung added the code in there and limit instalation only by signature.

Yeah maybe. Every module works fine except for Sound Assistant when you're customising the volume panel. I mean you can change the theme but you can't move it around or move it to left or right or even add buttons to it. But everything else is ok
