Google Play Services Battery drain OSS 9.0.8 - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

Hello folks,
since a few weeks i'm having huge battery drain which most likly is from google play services.
I installed better battery stats to check the wakelocks.
According to the settings google play services is taking 23% of my battery which is way to much.
The top kernel wakelock is PowerManagerService.WakeLocks with 14,7% (see screenshots).
The top process is logd but i already disabled this process by renamaing the logd file in system/bin.
In WLD google play services triggers 1250 times.
I don't really know what to do it really sucks. The strange thing is that play services is not draining my battery every day.
Sometimes it doesn't affect my battery and sometimes it does.
Can someone help me with this?
Greetings,
Th1rsty

I'm using play services 19.0.56 don't know if this version is also affected :/

I'm using the latest beta version from apkmirror and have no enormous battery drain with that.

I disabled logd process and installed oxyTweaker and for now it seems to be fixed.
I'll keep you updated.

Is this a problem with my ROM, kernel, or is the apps themselves?

I've noticed that since a few days ago, every day, even though I don't use them, the Google Maps and Google Search apps pop up in the battery usage with high percentages. I don't know why this is happening, especially because it didn't happen before, and I've already disabled location reporting...
I'm running CM10 M1, with stock CM kernel.
Bumping...
It's the app. Maps is a notorious battery drainer and Google search could just be Google Now.
Sign out of Latitude, disable location services (all of them) and as an extra step with an app such as Gemini App manager or Autostarts stop all autorun instances of Maps.
For Google Now, just disable it.

[Q] What am I missing by disabling wakelocks on Google Play Services

So in an effort to save battery life I've used an Xposed module to disable wakelocks on Google Play Services. My questions is: what am I not going to get because of this? Location based Google Now items? Certain functionality? What difference am I going to see in my phone?

Oreo limit background data

So after updating to 8.0 I notice that android system and google play services are draining a lot of my battery. I did notice that with those two, the option to limit background activity is not checked and we have the option to do so. has anyone tested this out and see if there are any drawbacks/gains?
i believe there was a thread about this on reddit about having the wrong version of google play services that is reason for the battery drain, can't really look for the thread now as i'm supposed to be working.

Is Limiting Background Activity for Google Play Services Play Services Okay?

Hi All,
I wrote another thread about battery life and I am happy to report it stabilized. I am averaging 4-5 hours of SOT with ~18 hours of total battery. But it does appear the idle drain is more than it appears. Not neccesarily looking for battery advice but rather feedback on limiting background services for Google Play Services, Google, and the Play Store with the App setting menuwill have unwanted effects on my phone?

I think it's OK to limit background activity of Google Play Store. Google Play Services is one another story though, I think.
EDIT: It seems to be acceptable to limit Services background activity. Check the link below.

Google Play Services wakelocks and battery life

Hello,
Does anybody manage Google Play Services wakelocks to increase battery life?
I have seen threads in other devices forums but they're a bit old.
Is it pointless with our device?
