According to the Pixel Experience blog post they are changing the 2 editions available for all supported devices.
I am not well versed with the way all this works. Will Android Q come to Pixel Experience soon?

Paranoid Android released Android Pie beta's for selected devices including the Pocophone & Mix 2S a couple weeks back, just wondering if anyone knows if they'll be bringing it to the Mix 3 officially or if any devs will be bringing it unofficially.

While I was going through some videos, came across Revolution OS. Wanted to get a bit more information regarding the custom MIUI ROM, but found none on XDA. So, went ahead and tried it, seems like it is a ported Android 10 MIUI 12 for Redmi Note 5 Pro, from Note 7. Not really buggy, but the devices heats up and the camera quality can be considered bad compared to other available ROMs. Overall available ram and animation speed seemed much better compared to Xioami.eu rom. Might need a bit more fixes here and there, before it can be considered a better alternative.
So, wanted to hear more about other people's experience regarding this particular rom.
Never knew about Android 10 port. Thanks for the info. I'll try it.
Revolution OS is a Spanish ROM with features mixed from Global and China Developer ROMs. It's very carefully tested to avoid issues within the users, and it has a strict policy about bug reporting or testing. Currently, that Android 10 ROM, with MIUI 12, is a port from Redmi Note 7, adapted to the peculiarities of Note 5 Pro. It will be improved over time, only it's a preliminary version.
Haven't played with custom ROMs in a while., but I used to have LOS - first on a Samsung Galaxy S4 and then on a Lenovo P2. Recently I've been looking for what phone to buy next, to have good LOS support, and I've seen that mainly older phones are officially supported (with few exceptions, Pixel and Oneplus). How come is that? Have the developers switched to some other ROM? Is there something else which is reliable but more broadly supported? Please let me know.
IMO you should have asked this question to devs of LOS.
The number of devices supported by LOS has increased over time, with 157 for 17.1 as of April 1, 2021.
BTW:
Any ROM must be compatible to mobile device's hardware. Thousands of different brands / models actually exist which have different features what requires to have related hardware what requires to provide drivers that interact with the hardware.
I also think devs of LOS neither have the money to buy all these thousands of mobile devices nor the time to develop a specific edition of LOS for all these.
That makes sense. Thanks for your reply
A friendly question for everyone I'm curious if anyone knows if anyone at all has started Pixel2 Android 12 port over to the pixel 2 and if so if they can provide the details or any leaks here so I can check it out I would like to see that happening somehow or I'm going to figure out myself and develop my own rom hehe...pixel 2
Rom
I'm trying to work backwards - find a phone in the used market that'll support open source ROM. I can scan through various device forums but problem is I'm not so familiar with devices esp the Chinese brands. Plus it's too many. Hoping someone can help.
My criteria
- introduced 2022 or later
- big screen 6.4"+
- mid range ok not too high end, for cost reasons
- supported by at least one custom ROM. Or likely to be in very near future.
- not Pixel obviously cos it already has such ROM.
Xiaomi 11 Lite NE seems perfect but I'll be happy with a newer device.
Thanks in advance..
