Banking app FC on Android Q - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

I use PSECU Mobile as my banking app. It FCs whenever I try to open it. Not sure how to see the log file. I am on DP4 and completely stock. Locked bootloader, no root. Any suggestions?

Could be that it doesn't pass a lot of the safety checks so probably crashing due to it not being stable yet, or the app hasn't been updated to support Q. Alternative would be use to use stock, or web browser.

I just tested the BofA app (who I don't bank with) and the Capitol One app, and they do both work and allow me to sign in.

I tested it with of my local FCUs and it crashed immediately. Give it time bruh.

Removing/Disabling Discovery "Feature" in SnapChat 9.11+

Howdy all!
Earlier this year, Snapchat introduced a new "Feature" called Discovery that allows you to see live events around the world, as well as sponsored stories from their partners. These can not be disabled in the 9.12 update, and previous to that, they required you to "hide" each of them every time from your feed. There are potentially thousands of these events on your feed, and they drain battery, drain your data, or both! Since SnapChat refuses to allow their users to disable the "feature", many turned to third party apps to get rid of them.
Most (if not all) 3rd party apps are against Snapchat ToS, because they usually allow you to save received snaps, and share images from your gallery (aka. pictures that may not be of you). Your account can be banned permanently from using 3rd party apps, and since they've been really hitting it hard with cracking down on people using them, it's not a viable solution to figuring out how to block the Discovery "feature".
I found the solution! This solution IS COMPLETELY FREE for one, as well it will keep you using the official app, so no 3rd party apps will be used. You'll also NOT be using any xposed modules, so nothing ToS breaking like saving snaps or whatever, either
Requirements:
ROOTED Android 4.4+, 5.0+
Titanium Backup Premium - Free Version and Premium Unlock Key
Latest Snapchat APK - Google Play or APK Mirror
Snapchat 8.1.2 APK - APK Mirror
How to:
Install the latest official client from the links above, and login as normal. Close the app once you're logged in, and swipe it away from recents.
Open up Titanium Backup Premium, and back up the Snapchat app.
Uninstall the Snapchat app.
Install the 8.1.2 version (linked above).
Open up Titanium Backup Premium, and restore ONLY THE DATA PORTION of the backup. DO NOT RESTORE APP OR APP+DATA!
Once successful, close TiBu and open up Snapchat
Notes:
You will get a notice from "teamsnapchat" that says your version is out of date, and that it will stop working shortly, however it's not limited in any way for me. I've sent and received snaps from friends, chatted with friends, and even received story updates from other friends. All of it is working, including push notifications of new stuff.
I've not seen or heard anything Discovery wise from the app, nothing appears on my list of friends, and lastly, the data/battery problems are all but gone since it's not background syncing infinitely.
My screen does turn on whenever I receive a new notification, and I can't seem to disable it. I've unchecked the option to wake screen in settings, however it re-checks itself upon save/exit. I'm OK with this though, since my lockscreen timeout is 5 seconds.
Nice work but it is a bit misleading to say that this is removing/disabling the discovery feature in Snapchat 9.11 when the underlying solution here is to downgrade Snapchat to before the feature was enforced or introduced.

It's not really a downgrade entirely though, since if you downgrade to 8.1.2 without the backup/restore data operation, then it refuses to let you login.
You're downgrading, then upgrading partially..
Pretty sure it doesn't work on 5.1.1. I get an error saying it won't work on this version of your Operating system.

No, you're making the downgrade possible due to restoring the data of the newer version of Snapchat. Its a tweak to make the downngrade possible. Restoring the data doesn't brint back the new version.
I find the title misleading aswell, since you are not removing nor disabling the discovery feature at all.
It isn't Snapchat 9.11+ either when you downgrade to 8.1.2.
Its not really your solution neither, as this is was the default solution to use Snapprefs and simular mods before it was recently updated to work woth the latest Snapchat versions.
Doesn't work for me unfortunately. Automatically logs me out upon opening Snapchat 8 even with version 9 data restored.
After installing the current version of snapchat and logging in, try to go to settings and uncheck the option for Wake Screen, THEN proceed with the downgrade instructions. I haven't tried it, but it might work for you if your screen keeps waking once you downgrade.
I'll try this once they release root for my phone
To solve your wake screen problem i think all you have to do is backup the data AFTER you uncheck wake screen then restore the data to the downgraded app.
Good tip and much appreciated, although this has been known. And I agree it is misleading since the app is being downgraded and we are not actually disabling the feature in Snapchat 9.11+.
Again, the post is appreciated, but I think you should edit the thread title.
Doesn't work. After restore data and open Snapchat app, my account was disconnected and when I try to do login again, I receive a message saying that Snapchat is not updated and I need to update to login (something like this).
I usually just install the 8.1.2 update over the latest snapchat ☺. Data restore hasn't been working too fine with me ...
Thread closed per OP request. Method no longer works.

Anyway to make an app work without needing to connect to it's server?

I wanted to know if there was a way to fool an app that always needs to connect to a server to do a part of it's job. The app is moboclean. It can restrict other apps from being too invasive, simulating some root controls to non-rooted device. I have downloaded some apks and used moboclean to keep them from digging into my contacts and what not, so that part is working fine. But i also wanted to install other apps, and since moboclean always needs to connect to it's own servers, this became a problem. For a couple of weeks moboclean servers were down. So moboclean would not install some recent apks i had. Already wrapped apps could still work, but to initiate a new app with those controls, moboclean won't do it without connecting. For now, seems that the servers are back up since it can now connect again. Moboclean does declare that it downloads it's custom apk of the app i would like it to control, but thats not quite true since it seems to give root control to apps that cannot be found in it's database of custom wrapped apps. Which again only fails sometimes , an example being the firefox app. What i'm trying to portray is that moboclean can work without needing to connect to it's server everytime i want it to wrap up a new app and install it so that i can control some if it's permissions. And since the creator of the app is no longer active, user named "uusafe", or perhaps goes now by a new username, i feel the that very useful app will eventually become useless once it's servers go down for good. Is there a way to make moboclean work without needing to connect online, since that part really doesn't do anything, and it just wraps the app up anyway. Just to force it to do what it does, but skip the connecting part.
As a disclaimer, i'm not exactly sure how everything works in this case. i could be misinterpreting or becoming confused with how some apps work and can be forced to work, but any help and enlightenment would be appreciated.
Thanks.

[Completed] How to remove "Internet connection requirement" from Android apps?

Hi, I have an app which looks like the developer has removed their servers so it always fails the "internet connection" check.
Its IONROAD. A AR driving app.
I paid for the PRO version so its all good. I use an older version not the latest as I hate the latest version.
99% of the app is using the GPS or the camera. It does check the internet for the weather and a few little things.
I've tried it at home while connected to wireless, in the car while connected to Mobile Data, I've uninstalled, reinstalled and updated and all versions fail the internet checks. To me it looks like they closed their servers so the app refuses to work without the internet so it will never work again.
What I want to do is remove that internet check so it will keep working without the need for their servers. If it never connects to the internet it doesn't bother me. I dont care for the current weather in a AR driving app, I care for how close the car in front of me is or if i'm drifting out of the lane I'm in. Absolutely nothing to do with the internet so how do I remove that check?
I have the APK, trying to get it into the Android SDK and not sure how? Even if I do get it there what do I remove?
All I want is that internet check removed. As I said I paid for the app so the licence check always passes as I paid for it.
The dev has abandoned the app, they refuse to reply or update. As they closed their servers I'm guessing they totally abandoned the app.
Any help what to remove and how to remove it? Is it an easy unzip, edit a file then zip and reinstall? Or is it a complete import into SDK, rebuild, test, etc and make a whole new app?
I'm not sure what or how to edit it.
Thanks
BTW, Here is the free version. I have the paid version but I'm guessing its the same.

Here is their website, you can see half the site is down. You cant log in, and every page has a cache/database error.

Nobody knows?
I've tried a few times and cant do it. I've tried out the SDK and a few other apps and cant remove that damn internet check. I thought I removed what was needed but its still not working.

Greetings and welcome to assist. Unfortunately assist is for guiding new members around the boards only, you really need to ask your question here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
it should be relatively easy to fix though by decompiling and editing the manifest
Thanks for understanding

[CLOSED] Aurora store app won't open

I've been using a banking app for the last year downloaded from Aurora. After a routine update it will not open because of an "invalid installation source".
This happened once before but cleared up after a few uninstalls and reinstalls.
I checked my phones Safetynet status using YASNAC and it passed both the Basic Integrity and CTS Profile Match tests.
I've done the uninstalling, installing, restarting, etc, without any sucess.
Any ideas how I can get the app working again?
Isn't this banking app available on Google Play Store?

Uninstall old Aurora Store & then try installing Aurora Store from Aurora Droid or F-Droid. Aurora Store is working for me after I reflashed Android 10 Custom ROM RR yesterday evening.
FYI :
When my device was new like 5 years ago, just for once I installed banking apps directly from playstore and let it finish all the safety checks & droid guard checks it had to , after that its been 5 years now that I've ditched banking apps for net-banking & each time I login to banking apps if the need be, I can use them without a glitch (thanks to magisk hide which is now zygisk) even though I've been using 3 or 4 different Custom ROMS on the same device all these years & even now. I think what the banks check primarily is that the phone number & device ID should be the same as before when it had passed safety check, if its other than that then they get suspicious.

As per Mr.Snowden Gugle does a fabulous job of protecting its users from hackers but who saves its users from Gugle espionage & ad-mob? Thats the reason why many want de-gugled devices and open-source alternatives like Midro-G etc.

Thanks for your advice. I"ve installed the latest Aurora, 4.1.1 but the problem persists - I can install the banking app but when I open it just get a screen saying "invalid installation source".
It's an banking app for the country I live in. In the past I used Aurora Anon log in without problems to use the app. I've now also tried Insecure log in, but still get the "invalid installation source".
I have not logged in to ***gle on my phone but so far have had no problems. This is the only app that won't open, all other Aurora/Fdroid apps are OK.
The Safetynet status check using YASNAC passed both the Basic Integrity and CTS Profile Match tests.
I've uninstalled/ installed/ restarted phone, etc, witthout success.
Is there anything else I could try?

Thanks again. Apologies, I should have said in my first post that my phone is not rooted, and that I have not signed in to gugle, and use only Aurora and Fdroid apps. (Probably a futile gesture!) Nevertheless the banking app from Aurora has worked up to now...
If I can't get it to work I will probably have to give in and log into gugle. Damn!

Alternatively, maybe you can try by using Opera Browser either from your device or from a PC/Laptop if banking apps is what you want. I ditched bank apps for the same very reason- dont want Pleysthore on device. I find Opera browser to be fast & secure, only caution is to turn off Opera VPN before logging into bank website because the password will be exposed to opera servers. all banks will have HTTPS Secure Login so no worries there. I find net-banking more complete than bank apps btw.

Question Gmail won't send [SOLVED]

My Pixel 7 Pro won't send from Gmail. I'm running the Feb 5 build with root. I type a new email but when I hit the send button, nothing happens. Gmail works perfectly from my desktop & tablet. I receive Gmail on the phone just fine. I tried clearing storage, cache and even uninstalled with the pm uninstall command and reinstalled from Play store.
What else can I try?
Have you tried a previous version (one that you remember working properly, if you can) from apk mirror? Or going all the way back to stock -- "uninstall updates"?
Google is up to a lot of "funny business" in terms of root detection after/around Feb update, maybe root is also interfering with something like this; if it is -- and you don't mention employing any root hiding implementations so I'm going to go ahead and suggest these even if you might have them active -- I suggest you configure the DenyList and/or run Universal SafetyNet Fix (Displax's latest MOD seems to be working best) and/or Shamiko...
Just some random ideas/thoughts to try...Good luck!
