Flashing Instruction
Always Have a full functional Backup. Just in case!
First time installing crDroid to your Redmi Note 4, or coming from another ROM:
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery ( TWRP)
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.
You need to flash GApps every-time you flash the ROM.
Don't expect any support if you:
- are not running the included kernel
- have installed any mods such as Xposed!
- have modified system files

Very good ROM! Best 8.1 i've tried! Every thing works fine for me. Root with magisk, instal viperfx... UI is really good (I love the wite and blue style!) thank you very mutch!

Nice to see crdroid oreo. Lots of bugs as expected since this is a beta -
1. No settings for hardware button
2. Phone bootloops if you edit QS tiles.
3. Faced 1 network reset.
Excited to see this ROM being maintained as well as the Nougat build!

bro please understand the things. u have encrypted ur phone, thats why it is asking password for every boot. the only fix is to completely format ur device. and to avoid encryption in future always make sure that u r not setting password at the setup wizard time.
make sure u transfered the necessary files to an external drive before going for complete format.

currently hotspot and wifi problems but it can be fixed by changing kernel .

Flash the latest firmware( full recovery stock rom) and remember not to wipe mode, vendor and other partitions only wipe system, dalvik, cache and data when flashing any custom roms. Donot backup or restore system or vendor partitions it breaks the ril se in your case
You can flash the stock roms by twrp or orangefox whatever is bootable on your device. I prefer Peter's unofficial twrp.

The devices I have . The GSI was working on all of them. I don't know about other devices as many devices do not work with phh patches. Also I don't know who posted Atom-OS as official on github as it was still in beta and unreleased for all.

Pre requirements
1. You need to unlock bootloader
2. TWRP
3. Q baseband [Tested on CTC7 Baseband]
3. Tested on N970F Device with Exynos Soc

Instructions:
1. Enter in Recovery (Turn off device, hold volume + button and bixby button at the same time)
2. Go to Wipe and slide to swipe to factory reset
3. Go to Install and select "Install Image" and select the rom crdroid-6.5-arm64ab-200423-vanilla-v215.image an then select partion to flash image" chose as system image and slide co confirm flash
4. Reboot and configure the Rom
5. Enter in Recovery again to install the gapps https://opengapps.org/
6. Go to Advance wipe and select system and press the button " Repair or chanfe File System"
7. Go to main menu and select the gapps to install
8. Reboot and Enjoy

I will try this as soon I have found out to install TWRP in the right way on N975F with the latest CTC9/CTCA/CTC7 stock rom. Flash TWRP is working, but every time when I want to boot after installing GSI.... stuck in boot logo. I will ask that in the right thread and not here. It has something to do with my knowledge and vbmeta.

Stuck on logo if not wrong is need to Formatt system

Very nice, used CrDroid on many previous devices.

How is the audio compared with one ui cuz last time i used lineage os 17.1 audio was terrible which made me switch back to stock

@IceMiki, thanks for making. Decrypting works, even when system is secured by PIN. But backup of /data fails: error 255.

@rp158 I don't know what the problem with your device may be. I post photos to prove that the backup is working perfectly.

I was told that on Android 11 it works except backup. I am developing a new one for Android 11 which will be tested by a betatester.

Backup data may not work in 12.5.
I developed the 3.5.0_10 for Global firmware.

This recovery still don't work...
I installed Miui 12.5 Android 11
Now when I go to recovery it cannot decrypt the data with or without a screen lock...

The twrp 3.5.0_10 is developed for android 10. Android 11 still has to work.

There is no custom rom works based on 12.0.21 because a lot of bug like wifi,bluetooth,hotspot,..

Hi sorry to bother you but I have a question
Does gps works with this ROM without flashing google apps ?
I have tried lineage 17.1 ROM on my phone and gps didn't work so idk if Google apps are requirement for gps to work

no sound in calls redmi 9a (dandelion)

Another question, is it possible to change the Custom Recovery (PBRP) to for example Orange or is it possible to cause problems? I don't like PBRP too much but I saw that Orange Fox lacks options, especially for backup, and the camera application that comes with the base system does not take pictures or recordings, is there an alternative for this? best regards.

yes, i installed the rom with twrp, in my opinion PBRP is not mandatory
