your device is encrypted, go to twrp or any custom recovery you are using and hit format data (format data is different from wipe internal storage) but note this will wipe all your data in internal storage
after that flash FCrypt Disabler zip (download from attachments)
hit thanks if it works !!

device encrypted !!
reboot to custom recovery and hit "format data"
this will wipe all the internal storage
This is probably due to not flashing the fcrypt disabler zip file after flashing a new ROM, remember to flash the file after every flash (ROM).

[Q] CWM 5.0.2.0 Cant see SDCard files

I decided to install a new ROM and this is what I did:
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache
-wipe dalvik
-format /system (which I'm not sure if I should have done)
Now when I go to install zip from sdcard, it shows files from my internal storage. It never did this before, I'm not sure what the problem is. I tried searching for it in the questions, but didn't find a solution. How can I make it list files from my external sd card?
There is a folder in there called external_sd but it shows no files. When I mount USB Storage, all my files are there.
Please help,
Thanks
Edit: So I was able to put files in the external_sd folder from my SDCard and install the ROM, but I still don't understand why it shows my Internal Files?

tab 2 p5113 internal sd not formating

Hi my tab is not formatting . I tried it via cwm and factory restore but none works . When it completes all the pictures and movies are still there. The main problem is that in the storage folder there is ext sd and emulated folder . In the emulated folder there is a folder 0. Then in that folder there lies all the common folders like Android , music , download. It happened when I installed cm10.1. Someone plz help me.when I try to install big games like gta sa and anomly korea , they don't detect the sd files put in Android obb folder
What kind of custom recavery do you use? You should do "format (wipe) data" in some recovery, or "format (wipe) sdcard". Useful make full wipe - system, data, cash, dalvik cash, sdcard and reflash CM from extSdCard, or flash stock firmware with PIT-file after full wipe and reflash CM.

Flash ROM using internal storage?

I have a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 M919, and I would like to flash the GPE 5.0.1 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2557353. They problem is my SD card is not big enough to store the file, so can I put it in my internal storage? Would it get deleted when I wipe the Dalvik Cache, System, Data, and Cache?
Also this ROM do I also flash the optional files that I want and do I need GApps?
Edit: As I understand it, I do not need GApps because they are indulge in the ROM, and I shouldn't use the optional files because they are for the 4.4.4 version. Is this right?

Yes, you can just put in it in internal storage, in a specific folder, depending on the recovery you use.
For example, if you're going to use TWRP recovery, put it in directory: /twrp
Caution: Don't place it in /system or /data or /cache
Placing here would definitely delete the ROM Zip file

yes you can just drag and drop the file into internal. then boot into recovery and find the file in the internal and flash it.
i think its even better to flash from internal because it can read it faster ans boot quicker
Of course you can stre it in the interna l memory but if you Factory reset your mobile .................sadly it will get deleted
and to install from internal storage you jyst have to choose inatall from internal storage insted on sd card....
Press thanks button if it helped
It also helps me a lot

[Q] FORMAT Data/Media... ?

I would like to format my /dat/media.. and then I would like to re-flash the ROM I am using. Since we all know the Note 5 does not have a sdCard port/reader
I can not figure out were to put my ROM that I will be flashing. There is no safe place to store it is there if I do a full FORMAT of /data/media. If I
format /data/media wont that wipe everything ?? even my image file of my ROM. Normally I would store it on an external sdCard then format /data/media..
and then copy the ROM image file back from the sdCard to the phones internal sdcard.
Bottom line .... I want to WIPE my entire phone EVEN /data/media then re-flash my ROM.
Thank you for any tips help.
My phone currently is Rooted and running [MULTI-LANG-6.0.1] TEKXodus HYBRID N5/S7Edge URv7.5E 5/04/16 N920X/G928X

If you have twrp recovery, it will not touch your internal sdcard or any of it's contents unless
you purposely click on the advanced wipe option indicating that you actually want to format it.
By default the internal sdcard in twrp is not check marked.
Simply doing a "Wipe" and a "Factory Reset" in twrp will not format, wipe or delete anything
located in your internal sdcard.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

Yes BUT you missunderstand what I am trying to do. I want to WIPE internal memory. I want to wipe all traces of old programs located both on the internal SD and also located in data/media
Make sense ??
If I do it your way it will still leave all the stuff in the internal area and without doing a format DATA ( YES ) the stuff in /data/media will also still be untouched.. I want all traces of old user installed programs gone.
Help ?

With twrp thats easy too, simply click Wipe and then click "advanced wipe" and there you will see options
for each individual type of wipe, Wipe Data, System, Cache, Dalvik and "Wipe Internal SDCARD".

Copy the image file into your computer then after the wipe copy it back into the phone while the phone is still in the twrp screen.
The new twrp 3.0.2 allows USB file transfers while twrp is running.

HELP! wrong sdcard size after flashing rom

I have flashed a new rom on my phone with twrp 3.4.0.0
When I got to the new UI I had no free space (both internal and sdcard)
Back to twrp I took these steps:
1. Boot into TWRP recovery.
2. Select Wipe » Advanced Wipe.
3. Tick/check the Data partition.
4. Select Repair or Change File System button.
5. And lastly select Resize File System button.
that solved the internal storage size, but the storage of sdcard shows 80MB when it should read 128GB.
I tryed the same method for sdcard but it cant be done on sdcard selection.
Is there any solution without formating sdcard?
if not please provide a solution with formating on twrp.
I have searched for a solution but no result...
Please help! i have no time to search right now!

Problem solved by replacing twrp with pitchblack ver.3 and repeating the procedure mentioned.
