[ROOT] Root your Acer A510/700 with Motochopper

Don't know if you heard already about it, but I'm just reporting that Motochopper root exploit works fine for Acer A511 with Stock Jelly Bean(so I suppose it will work fine for both A510 and A700).
Rooted with no problem, without unlocking my bootloader.
Download it here:

The site in question requires registration. Additionally, it does not appear to be a personal site and is "ad-driven".
Edit, Motochopper is posted in the majority of device forums here at XDA. One can simply do a search. Thanks for the info.

That's because the app in question only does a halfway root. Your binaries won't update because SU calls for a /system remount, and Busy Box also needs access to write to /System/bin. So the "roto-rooter" just doesn't work on most devices as a lot of people have discovered. Also, any root app (titanium backup for example) that calls for a "/system mount or re-mount" won't work as well. So half of the features of these type application won't work.
Unfortunately, the 70x kernel is a secure kernel when stock. So to get your /system rewrites and mounts, you'll have to unlock your bootloader, and fastboot the insecure boot.img.

***** READ ROM Posting *****

The following are reasonable formats that are suggested when posting a new ROM. We expect your ROM post to look somewhat professional and easy to understand.
1. Requirements (bootloader version, radio version etc)
2. State that it's from an official manufacturer or source base (stock ROM or AOSP-like source).
3. Thread shows a clear overview of changes made, in a way that users can see what has changed.
4. Explicit installation instructions.
5. ROMs need to identify what kernel they are using. If 100% stock then they must state that.
6. If custom kernel they must provide a link to the kernel on XDA (if available) or a link to the kernel source. This is required by GPL. Stock (untouched) kernels can link to the manufacturers source (if available).
7. At least 2-4 images (screen-shots) 1 of which must be of system/device info. Do not use photo hosts thay deluge users with ads and popups when they select the image. You can either attach the images, or use a hosting service such as photo-bucket for example.
8. Links to downloads. A link to a direct download is preferred. Linking to external websites home pages are not allowed, it must be linked to the Downloads page. Also use of "ad-driven" (adfly for example) or "commercial" sites are mostly not allowed. Registration on some sites "may" be allowed, but is subject to XDA Moderation approval.
9. Credits for sources used. Very important.
10. Keep your "asking for donations to a limit. You already have a "Donate" button.
Simply posting a link to some download site "here it is, download it", is not allowed.

[ROM][AICP][5.1.1][32-BIT] Android Ice Cold Project ROM for A6000

Android Ice Cold Project ROM
For Lenovo A6000
Please note that I am not the author of this ROM!!
I am just posting this at this platform to hep others
I will not be responsible for any thing getting messed up in your device!!
This is a ROM(32-bit) by Android Ice Cold Project which I found on a devs-lab.com
Thus ROM is based on 5.1.1 and has free ram about from 370-440MB(This is after installing some basic apps including Facebook app which takes up a lot of memory)
I have been using this ROM for a couple of days and its great!
The only bug I found was the battery level/percentage doesn't change. It will only change when you power off your device and the boot after about 8-10 sec after.
Tested by me on A6000
Installation:-
Boot into TWRP
Wipe cache , dalvik, system , data(This will lead to data loss please back up your data first)
Flash ROM and then gapps(opengapps-arm-5.1-xxxx)
Reboot
You will be in AICP ROM
Bugs:-
Battery Percentage
If any more please post here
Download:-

If somebody can fix the battery bug this would be bugless and the best ROM for this device.

XDA Rules do NOT prohibit off-site URLs, but they do have some guidelines regarding off-site download link and those are:
Off-site downloads are permitted if the site is non-commercial and does not require registration.

The Download link in the post leads to Google Drive and as such, breaks no rules. The link below are functioning as Source Links. If you have a problem with a post, contact a moderator by using the report button, they are fast and efficient.
I flashed this rom and currently using. It is very smooth and snappy. I had trouble at the begining with the mobile data and the sim being in no service. I had to flash super su and through kernel adiutor edit the build prop to disable the double sim settings in order to get the sim fully working. It displays some sort of message at every reboot something in connection with the internal storage. For the battery bug I've tried every existing calibrator with no luck. This is the only major problem with this rom. Please devs take a look and provide a solution for this amazing ROM!!
@Element24
I think this ROM is not in development as of now.
It is ported by someone!
Thanks for trying it

Jailbreak is an iOS thing.
The Kindle paperwhite use a Linux operating system, jailbreaking "shouldnt" be necessary. "Unlocking" the bootloader somehow or some other kind of "unlock" process may be necessary, but that does not equal the same thing as jailbreaking.

Useless argument Jailbreaking or Rooting or whatever.
Kindle devices are hard to unlock:this is what counts
&
fyi its linux except it's not as it, at it uses U BOOT which is different from bootloader

Yes, jailbreaking unlocks the device so that unapproved software can be installed and some other things can be modified, but, there are still things that can't be touched.
Rooting, however, pretty removes all restrictions and allows access to install or modify whatever you want, how you want, when you want.
Jailbreaking has more in common with unlocking the bootloader on an android device then modifying the system partition or any other partition via ADB/ADBshell/fastboot, etc.. without using root than it has in common with rooting an android device. Unlocking the bootloader on android allows the usage of unapproved software and will allow system modifications but does not allow complete access to modify whatever you want. That is quite a bit more llike jailbreaking than rooting. But that is here nor there, either way, you're unlocking the device to allow modifications that otherwise wouldn't be allowed.

Its definitely JB since you cannot access root or system from explorer (if you have KINDLE DEVICE YOU CAN CHECK)requires terminal to make modification or other reader to access directory for same.
:thanks: for your interest and insight
&
There is no thread for KINDLE E READERS ....DEVICES on XDA

@Abish4i I've edited your post.
Regarding social media links please observe that as an exemption from the last bullet of rule no. 5 of the XDA Forum Rules, we grant only developers the privilege to share references to their social media in their own development threads and if thorough support is provided in the thread. These conditions obviously don't apply to you or your thread. Additional information is also available here:
Telegram Chat Channels - Way Forward
WhatsApp/Telegram Groups and Channels - Going Forward Hello XDA family! Just notifying all members that posting certain links to Telegram and other sites like WhatsApp is now allowed on XDA. What does that mean? We will allow links to messages...
forum.xda-developers.com
Please refrain for sharing of social media references unless within your own development threads! Thanks for your cooperation.
Your directly following post got deleted as it just contained a self-promotional link to your own website (also refer to above mentioned rule) and a link to another phone related website (refer to the 3rd bullet of rule no. 11). For the same reasons, I've removed the links from your post here.
