So I'm currently using a samsung tab pro 8.4 and with it action launcher 3 and the Logitech harmony smart control software
Both of these software packages arentnset to proper!my display on the resolution. However I believe from research they both work properly on a galaxy tab s 8.4.
What I'd like tom do is edit some!e config file or similar for these apps to convince them I have a different device. I don't want to try and globally change it
I use but am no epxlert with android so I'd appreciate any advkce krm resources too which you could point me, alternately to know its not possible.
Thanks a bunch
Howdy partners,
If I'm trying to edit my build.prop to spoof my tablet as a phone, will it help to choose a phone with the same chip?
In my attempt to spoof my note 12.2 as a note 4, I changed a lot of the build.prop including the fingerprint to no effect. Then, after further editing I eventually boot looped it and had to reflash. Should I pick another phone to spoof? Any suggestions?
I really want to use this device as my phone, since my last phone was stolen and I prefer the bigger screen. So I'm hoping to fool both the Google play store so I can install things such as whatsapp, as well as fool my networks check on my user agent string so I could potentially use a plan designed for phones, not that I would necessarily do such a thing if it breaks the terms of service.
Anyway... I checked my user agent and it all seemed to be spoofed for a note 4 before i boot looped my device, but the sim card was still not accepted. Any suggestions what I could be missing? I changed the model, the fingerprint, the build... I don't know what's tripping me up.
TL : DR
1 when spoofing, should i spoof a phone with the same chip?
2 any suggestions of a phone good to spoof on a note 12.2 p905?
3 what could be tripping me up if my user agent string all seems to have been changed?
Thank you so much for reading. I would provide more info of what I changed, but i lost my modified build.prop when I reflashed my device.
Thanks in advance hombres

Most Android Phones suffer drop in fps while shooting snap-chat videos in dark or low lit environments and take screenshot of the screen instead of using the full potential of the camera resulting in crappy pics and videos . There is a work around to change that and its very simple.
Its recommended that you take a twrp backup before starting.
first thing first make sure you have a ROOTED phone .
1. Uninstall snap-chat
2. Download an app called Build.prop from the play store
3. Open build.prop and grant it root access.
4. search for the keyword Model and you will get a line named (ro.product.model) you have to edit that line to OnePlus A3003
5. Confirm that the phone model has changed to OnePlus A3003 by opening build.prop and searching for the model number .
6. Restart your phone and download snapchat .
Note : Tested on most lollipop and marshmallow roms on galaxy s5 , s6 , note 3, 4, 5 , LG G3 , LG G4 , HTC M8
Tested on some sony devices and ended up bootlooping. Dont try if u have other than samsung galaxy, LG , HTC and Oneplus devices.
Edit : U can change the phone model to
1. For all other brands to HTC 10 or ONEPLUS A3003
2. For galaxy note 3 SM-N900X
3. Note 4 SM-N910X
4. NOTE 5 SM-N920X
5. For s6 and s7 just erase the variant whether its P or T or whatever and put an X after the model number
* This mod will give u a smooth video recording experience as well as uses the full potential of the camera instead of just taking a screenshot of the viewfinder.
* on some android phones on which you have on screen soft keys the video or the picture is slightly cropped, by using this mod the snapchat will capture it with full screen
* solves the issue of filters not being displayed on some android phones
Happy snapping
How does this work? Is there proof i.e code that says "if model is xyz do xyz"? Or is this all placebo? Curious.
Its really weird why this works but it does.. Even changing the note 3 or 4 or 5's variant number made it work. I first tried it when i had a note 3 . It was a SM-N9005 i changed its model number to SM-N900X
This snap was taken using a note 4 under low light situation after changing the model number to SM-N910X

There is not a ro.product.model line in my build prop, only lines close to that are ro.product.manufacturer=OnePlus and ro.product.brand=OnePlus. There are also no lines with the word "model".
So should I add the line ro.product.model=OnePlus A3003?

Did you follow all the steps correctly ? And which phone r u using ?
Will this work on a Asus Zenfone 3 Max? And someone know how to root it without a pc? I tried kingoroot and kingroot but they don't work
After changing the Note 5 model number to N920X it doesn't let me log in to my SC account. and yes, I've followed your steps in order and I've changed it back to the original model name and it still doesn't let me in...
The strange thing is that when I log in in my note 5 it says that my account has been temporarily locked, but when I log in on another device my it login on my SC account...
Any help will be great ?

Will this work without root
Is there a chance this will work without root, I have a OnePlus 3T if that makes a difference
Hello all... first post! Suffice to say, not usually the phone hacking type...
I have purchased the Samsung Galaxy S8+ from TELUS Mobility here in Canada. I require access to the multi-user function in Android, which Samsung seems to have disabled by default on this phone.
I've looked around and found reference to a bit of text I can enter into a file named build.prop that, apparently, works on the S7 versions of this device. I have found the build.prop file on the S8+ and have tried to access it with a couple of different apps, including the BuildProp editor on the Play Store.
Regardless of what app I use to make the edits, I cannot save the file. I realize that this is a permissions thing and I may need root to make this change, but I am lost when it comes to actually getting root - I don't *think* I want to flash a new ROM or anything like that. I just want to be able to edit and save this single file. Seems simple! Maybe it isn't!
Do you have experience doing what I'm trying to do here? How can I get root without necessarily changing anything else? Is there another option to allow me to edit build.prop without necessarily affecting anything else?
I appreciate any advice or guidance anyone on this forum can offer. Thank you!
You cannot root Snapdragon versions of the phone. You are out of luck as build.prop requires root. If an exploit is found root may be possible, but it is unlikely. Your best bet is to sell the Telus phone and buy an international version with Exynos chip as that has already been rooted. Note that rooting a Samsung device burns the KNOX bit and therefore your device is without warranty of any kind (Samsung checks KNOX bit before honoring warranty).
Long story short, I've ventured out to upgrade my old phone's custom rom to possibly play Fortnite. I've tried a wide variety of things but I cannot get past the infamous "Graphics Error" message.
My current build is a Oneplus Two running on ResurrectionRemix 6.0 (Android Version 8.1). I have a 64bit phone, and while my GPU is one year too old for the required minimum driver, I've bought Gltools to change my information accordingly. I've also used a prop build editor to change my phone's information into a Note 9 (I want that damn skin).
My phone is rooted with Magisk (and yes I've hidden the folder + hidden the app itself to both the Fortnite app and Installer).
I guess the question is, can I spoof my true GPU specs to run this damn game? And how can I go about doing this?
