I currently managed to get a bricked T-Mobile Dash and have tried methods 1 & 2 from here but both methods have failed. It looks like i need to move on to method 3, but it requires a spare windows mobile phone which i do not have. If someone with spare time could lend me their windows mobile phone and their pc so i could perform the method i would deeply appreciate it. I wouldnt be taking anything home or anything, just performing the method at your place borrowing your pc for 5-10 mins.
I think that you have some very bad problems!
Brick normally isn't very good.
damn thats rough guy. I would but im in LI. Also note you need a microSD card that is smaller than 1GB. Thats prob tough to find these days.
thanks for the concern guys, luckly i was able to work the issue out myself with a older WM5 Rom, so mods this can be locked
Good work!
So my girlfriend's Nexus S 4g is acting up and shes getting it exchanged for a new one. Cant complain about that much eh? Especially considering its out of warranty. Anyways, i use to have a Motorola Triumph and she liked that one time when my USB port messed up, i backed i went into CWM and backed up my phone, transferred that folder to my new Triumph i exchanged for, re-rooted and went back into CWM, restored phone to how it was a day earlier without spending any time setting it up.
Considering the developer support behind this phone, im sure the same can be done. But i keep running into root solutions that wipe the phone, which isnt a solution for me. I found this post:
http://androidforums.com/nexus-s-4g...s-s-ns4g-no-data-wipe-easy-win-mac-linux.html
And asked a question there i will also ask here:
Looks like once im into the TWRP, i can just click "backup" then once saved, copy that folder to my PC and go and exchange the phone. Then transfer the folder onto the clean new phone, Using the same process now, get it into TWRP as well and click restore and select the backup?
Should i even bother installing superuser.zip?
___
So theres that. Does that sound like it would work or are there any other solutions? Thanks in advance.
I bought one of these for my daughter and it did not have google play. So of course i tried to change the rom, when i did the wifi went down,.
Now i am stuck without the original image. i managed to put some lyf1 file img on but its in japanese and it renders the tablet useless. Before i throw this piece of crap in the garbage.
is there anything i can do to make it a functioning tablet again. ive been reading for days, i cant seem to find straight answers. i just need a image that i can use with live suite.
Any help would be great. thanks in advance.
P.s. Ive tried everything ive read about, at this point i need to just get it working in english and touch screen isnt working either
Hi,
I broke the screen on my Nexus 5 while on a long holiday. I can still see about three quarters of the screen but the touch screen is basically busted, and as a result, I can't unlock the phone to get the data off. I backed up 90% of the photos via Dropbox but there is one week of photos I couldn't upload and there are also some really nice videos I'd like to get off.
Is there any way to sync to the file system without unlocking via the touchscreen? I don't think I have debugging disabled (I'm not particularly development savvy) so not sure what my options are...
I have a little time before I need to send the phone to LG for repair, so I'm willing to mess with this a bit and learn whatever I need to learn. I think I saw a thread somewhere detailing how it's down for the nexus 4 but not sure if it's applicable to the 5 as well...

I believe you can use fastboot to flash a custom recovery. Then use said recovery (twrp) to back up your data. Then copy that backup file to your computer. Actually I'd do a full nandroid backup.
You should ask in the nexus 5 forums as opposed to the general forums. The people in their are a special sort of geniuses.
Sorry to hear about your phone.
I think you should be able to access it using ADB commands
I f that doesn't work for you might try posting over on the Nexus 5 Forum
Hope that helps.
mum's phone screen is smashed, extract data as my mums mum has passed away&lost photos
Help if possible,
what is the best way to extract data from a broken s6 screen, I have tried to use drfone but before I pay the silly price of £60 I wanted to see if there is any other way to get the photos. the phone is my mums, she has never backed it up and her mum died, she has all photos and videos on the phone and as you can imagine is heart broken, I am in the recovery screen as I was able to bypass the screen lock and also was able to extract some files with a trail. and all torrents i found was all blocked. if i have to pay it i will just wanted to see if there was a cheaper way to do it. Thanks in advance she now knows to back up in future. it wold make my mums day as it is mothers day today. that would be a awesome present!!

Sorry to hear that mate. You could install a custom recovery called TWRP (voids warranty). Boot into this custom recovery and use ADB to pull the data from the internal storage. There are many guides.
