Send the recovery img to your xoom with fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img
Then press power and vol up to reboot once at the M count 1 2 3 then press volume down. Then volume up to selext recovery. Once in twrp recovery flash your su.zip (ensure its compatabile with your current os version) and reboot. Then enjoy. When you select reboot twrp will prompt u to delete two files (if your stock) these two files will reinstall stock recovery if they r not deleted or renamed.
You can get the twrp recovery from my sig

Gone over it a hundred times in my thread so before you tell me im wrong, a replace your sd card or b why put the su zip on your sd card? Put it on the internal memory.
Edit... wait your trying to flash the img from your sdcard? Thats not possible
You need to read the OP on my thread on how to install twrp img NOT the zip

Ive told you already you can not flash a recovery from stock recovery. You are not reading the op of my thread. Or any other threads on how to do this.
The same method of unlocking the bootloader in fastboot is how you have to flash the recovery unless u already have a custom recovery.
Download the twrp IMG from my op to your computer, save it to your folder where adb.exe and fastboot.exe are.
Boot your tablet into fast boot mode (just like you did when you unlocked the bootloader)
From the folder that adb and fastboot are open cmd prompt
Type
fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img
The tablet should read out that its flashing. In the cmd prompt it should read out that its flashing also.
Once done type
fastboot reboot
Then when the tablet starts to boot you will see the red M count 1 2 3 then press volume down then volume up to select recovery. You are booting into TWRP

If you still need help, here is a FAIL proof way... so that there is no mis understanding
watch this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-7wfZw0wj0&feature=youtu.be
then this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koxgbdQuzOQ
then remember to boot STRAIGHT into recovery after flashing, if you fail to do so the stock rom has two scripts in it that install stock recovery on EVERY BOOT. if you boot to android your custom recovery WILL BE over written
once you boot into TWRP and have finished your flashing and select reboot TWRP will detect the two scripts and prompt you to delete them or your custom recovery will be over written and you will have to re flash ( VIA fastboot like in the first video) again
Allright, so I ****ed up.
I had some issues (softwarewise) with my OPO and decided I wanted a factory-reset. As my settings menu softlocked constandly I decided to do it through the recovery module, however, instead of doing a factory reset, I wiped everything but my internal SD (meaning system, Dalvik Cache and one other option).
Currently, I can't get anywhere but to the TeamWin Recovery Module (version 2.7). I can't get anything onto my SD card, as far as I can tell) and I'm stuck.
I ****ed up, I've done this before and should've known better - but is there any way out of this?
Thanks in advance!
Edit: Additional info:
I have installed all drivers I could find (Quallcom 2012, from a dropbox link), have the Android SDK and global ADB drivers. The OPO recovery tool (the moduled one to install stock Cyano 11S) does not find/recognise my device and neither does the Quallcom Configuration Tool (QPST), but my computer does show it under "other devices". I'm stuck!

I've seen that post, however, I do not get to fastboot (power + volUP just powers my device off). When I install SuperSU my device SHOWS fastboot mode but my PC does not allow moving files to it (my pc does recognise it, it makes the USB-device-added sound, but doesn't allow for file transfer).
I have the correct drivers (I'm pretty sure)

This. No need to go through all that hassle of returning to factory rom and losing your files. Do adb sideload from recovery.

Yes I am. I'm currently looking at "Fastboot Mode" from the thing TWRP asked me to install when it noticed I had no OS (SuperSU?). But it does not allow my PC to write files to it.

SuperSU has nothing to do with fastboot. And fastboot mode doesn't allow file transfer, that isn't what it's for, but if you're in fastboot mode you don't need to transfer any files, you can just follow the instructions I linked you to earlier.

So I rooted my OnePlus 6 through magisk using the command prompt method. And for some odd reason whenever I go to flash the TWRP image it just comes up " the image file is corrupt". I don't know if it's the TWRP download link on there website. But I've tried it on my laptop and another laptop. I keep getting corrupt image file. Anybody know a way to get TWRP without PC or a different method.

Where twrp.img is the img file from TWRP. You can drag and drop or manually change directory to install your TWRP. It works either way.
Yeah ive been reading forums and apparently it's nothing to do with what I'm doing. It's a security update on windows. I just uninstalled it. Gonna try to mount an img file see if it works.
Update that wasn't the issue... I'm sure it's something to do with windows 10.

TWRP download https://dl.twrp.me/enchilada/
Download twrp-3.2.1-0-enchilada.img from twrp.me site to your pc
Download twrp-installer-enchilada-3.2.1-0.zip from twrp.me to your phone
Hook phone to pc USB with factory red cable (or other usb-c cable that you have tested)
Reboot phone into bootloader
On your pc, go to the location where you downloaded the twrp-3.2.1-0-enchilada.img image
Type fastboot devices to make sure that you get a response showing your phone and serial number
Type fastboot boot twrp-3.2.1-0-enchilada.img
Your phone will boot into twrp YOU WILL BE ASKED TO ENTER YOUR PIN/PATTERN/PASSWORD. IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE, TWRP WILL LOCK UP; YOU MUST GO BACK TO THIS STEP: "Reboot phone into bootloader"
From twrp, install the twrp-installer-enchilada-3.2.1-0.zip that you downloaded on your phone
Disconnect your phone from the pc
Reboot twrp back into recovery. You should now be rebooted to the official twrp.
If you had magisk installed, then flash magisk or you will bootloop back to twrp

If that's not the issue, you might try using another cable or another port.
Yes those exact steps. And I'm using the factory red cable it came with . I just reinstalled windows 10. So I'll see if that fixed the issue
Update:that didn't fix the issues either.

I think Asus fixed their ****,so basically I was able to flash the patched_boot.img now.At first it gave me the network error but every time I always tried again, eventually it gave me the no pin error even thought I had a pin.I tried several times with that too and sometimes it would reboot but not wipe anything, until I took away my pin and it immediately gave the no pin error and I tried again and it rebooted without wiping anything.I contacted asus support over the phone and on zentalk and they told me it was already unlocked.I tried flashing the patched boot image and it went through.I booted into the phone with no problems indicating boot loader was unlocked I think.then surprisingly I checked root with root checker and it came back saying I did have root. I guess they updated the unlock boot loader tool to make it not wipe anything.

It's easy enough to do dowload the firmware from their website, install the magisk manager apk.extract the firmware zip and locate boot.img file.copy it either onto a sdcard or select file transfer on your phone and transfer to your phone.AFter doing so go back in to the magisk manager apk you installed select install->patch boot image file->locate the boot.img file you copied let it patch. After it patches make note where it saves, copy that "patched-boot.img" back to your computer(into the adb folder)and inside adb folder hold shift key+right click then open a comman prompt window.type adb devices.Make sure usb debugging is enable in developer options after pressing build number 7 times.make sure your device is found after hitting enter on adb devices.type adb reboot bootloader.after your phone reboot into fastboot mode(ther'll be a llittle word on the bottom left of your phone screen)main screen will be powered by android rest is black.now type fastboot devices to make sure your device is seen.and then type fasboot flash boot "patched-boot.img".Then you'll be rooted.Make sure you unlock bootloader with their tool first.

I tried this, and now my phone has a bootloop...
I have no backup of the original boot.img.
Flashing the whole FW with SP Flashtool doesn´t work (Brom error), I tried all combinations with Vol. Up & Down...
Does anyone has an idea how to get my phone working again?
It came with FW Version WW-V14.02.1711.22 and a chinese Recovery, I wasn´t able to install updates from the beginning.
ADB is also not working, the device is shown as MTP, I have no connection via ADB.
The only thing which is working is fastboot.
Is there a solution to get it working again with fastboot? Can just flash an other boot.img?

I followed this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LD1OlbfHdwE
Now I got in to TWRP, and I need to put boot.img, magisk zip and twrp zip into phone storage, but my OnePlus wont show up in Explorer like in the video. When I check in device manager ADB drivers are installed and windows wont replace them with the Android bootloader interface drivers that he uses in the video. I have ran the driver msi file like in the video but windows keeps using its driver.
I am a total newbie at rooting btw
anyone got a solution? now I'm stuck in TWRP and don't really dare to do anything haha
If you know xda why do you follow a youtube video to root your device?!
Can't you mount your storage in twrp so it gets shown in windows?
If you factory reset your phone and boot android it should show you a partition with op drivers. No need to download them.

Did a little workaround, I used adb sideload to transfer a folder with the files to, flashed boot.img, twrp and magisk but now it has sat on boot screen (red circle with 2 white spinning around) for 10 minutes ?

nope… Just followed the video, flashed all the files and reboot
I would start from scratch.
With adb working move latest oos firmware (5.1.11), latest twrp.zip (3.2.3.0) and latest magisk.zip (17.1) to your internal storage.
In twrp flash latest full (~1,4gb) firmware, don't reboot but flash twrp.zip. Now reboot recovery and flash magisk.zip.
System should boot, is rooted and custom recovery is in place.

In twrp flash latest full (~1,4gb) firmware, don't reboot but flash twrp.zip. Now reboot recovery and flash magisk.zip.
System should boot, is rooted and custom recovery is in place.

Sounds good but now TWRP is stuck at its loading screen….
Then turn off phone. Reboot to bootloader and boot twrp with fastboot
fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-0-enchilada.img
Flash twrp.zip and reboot recovery.

Doesnt work, stuck at screen with oneplus logo when entered command
So now I really don't know what to do, just want my phone working tbh. Recovery ends up in loading TWRP screen, booting twrp with fastboot doesnt work, normal boot ofc doesnt work
Kind of regretting trying to root now...
Did you turn your phone off (unplugged from power, pc).
Then wait five minutes and boot bootloader (vol+ + power).
