Pass input from phone to pc - Android Apps and Games

Hey all,
I am looking to develop an app for android that is able to take virtual button presses from an android phone and pass them to a pc (would like to support windows, linux, and MAYBE OSX). Is there currently any known method to do this, preferably via usb (to minimize input lag)? Would it require the phone to be rooted? It's no problem for me to be rooted, but I would like to release this for a game on the pc and the majority of its userbase would not be rooted, and most of them zero experience with it.
Thanks for your help!

[q] question : Android-pc bridge project for home automation

Hi there
I'm embarking on an ambitious project and i was wondering if anyone could help me by giving suggestions.
I am making my own home automation system, and I already have the necessary hardware to get it up and running, but I want to take it a step farther.
I have this (Use google translate lol) http://cba.sakura.ne.jp/kit01/kit_399.htm kit, which is basically a set of 8 relay switches that can be used to turn on and off mains devices (such as lights, powerpoints, ect) that are controlled by a computer through a DB25 printer port. I also have an old Dell D600 laptop that has said printer port, and the software needed to drive the circuit board. This is all well and good, as everything is working so far, but before I bother to install this thing in my roof and hook it up to control my lights, power points, ect, I was wondering if there is a way to use my android phone (HTC Legend, unrooted ) or tablet (Motorola xoom wifi rooted with Tiamat, o/c to 1.7ghz) to control this board through a computer.
I already have a client that remote controls the computer (splashtop remote), and I can achieve this with some difficulty by remote controlling the computer and using the PC software through my phone/tablet, but I was wondering if there is an android home automation program and its PC client service that supports DB25 printer port pinout settings, so I could directly control the circuit board through the app, like the leading home automation apps already available (minus the extremely expensive proprietary hardware that you need with them). If not, has anyone else considered developing one? If anyone could give me any help on this it would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] Controlling Power Point or Keynote with smartphone.

Hope this is the right place for this.
I know there are tons of apps out there that does this but here is my situation.
I am in a public speaking class and it would be really nice and easy for me and other students if we could control our slides from our phones or tablets.
My question is what would be the best way to do this on a school computer. I can install apps no problem, but they get erased after the computer gets restarted due to a deep freeze program of some sort. So simply installing the server application before hand won't do.
Is there some sort of solution that has maybe a portable executable that one can run on their flash drive just for the time that they need to connect their device to the computer?
Both of the devices will be on the same network (one wired and one wireless).

[Q] Can an Android phone run without a screen?

I wanted to strip a phone down to it's bare necessities so it would fit into a laptops spare hard drive slot to be used as an 3G modem (provider only allows phones to use unlimited plans).
If I remove the screen will it still function enough to be commanded via ADB?
The screen is just an output device, so you should still be able to give it commands remotely, similar to a rasberry pi, but how would you enable usb debugging and/or troubleshoot issues that may arise with the device?

Click to collapse
I'd enable debugging beforehand, the idea was to just toggle tether via ADB, nothing major so the only issue I could think of would be heat, but shouldn't be an issue hopefully.
Possible.

[Q] Dumping/Reading PC Memory via Android Device

Hi,
I've been looking around to see if it possible to read a computer's process memory from a connected Android device. I know ADB allows you to modify things (on your device) via the computer's command line, but in reverse, how much control can you have over your computer. An end goal would be for me to read a process's memory (that's running on my computer) solely from my connected phone or tablet. Is this sort of thing even possible?
EDIT: I was just using ADB as an example. I know it's not capable of doing such a thing. Just trying to explain the concept.
Thanks!

Access data from Samsung Tocco Lite S5230 via USB Cable

I have a Samsung Tocco Lite S5230, otherwise known as Samsung Star, Samsung Player One, Samsung S5233 or Samsung Avila in different countries. I have not modified the firmware. I bought the phone originally with an Orange UK contract but it was not locked as it was from a 3rd party phone shop.
The touchscreen is not responding so I am looking for a way to get my data off it via the USB cable. Unfortunately, in the settings for the phone, it is set to prompt on USB connection to determine which USB mode to use (the options are Media Player, PC Suite, Mass Storage).
So I am wondering what options I have to try to access the data without relying on the touchscreen. If I could change that setting to default PC Suite mode I'd probably be fine as pretty much everything (except for text messages longer than 160 characters) can be access via the PC Suite software. But since the touchscreen isn't responding I can't change this setting.
1. From looking around I am lead to believe that this phone runs the Bada platform?
2. I have a computer which dual boots Ubuntu and Windows.
2a. In Ubuntu, if I connect the USB cable before entering the Sim card pin, the operating system prompts me automatically to enter the pin which allows me to start up the phone; I'm not sure if this is helpful but it seems like a step in the right direction.
2b. In Windows, I haven't found any way to use the computer keyboard to enter the sim card pin, and if I start PC Suite, the computer prompts me to select the PC Suite option on the phone's screen [which I can't do].
I had seen clues to suggest that this phone runs on the Bada Platform? But I have just found this post which seems to claim that a related model does not run Bada?
Perhaps someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction to help me find some software that can be used to access the phone via the USB cable without relying on the touchscreen?
Thanks in advance for any pointers
PS - as a bonus though probably more for interest than for any practical purpose, is there a way to enter the SIM card PIN from Windows like I can on Ubuntu?
Hello,
I have the problem also,
for a solution I would be happy
