Hi guys,
I have a Oneplus 7 pro, usually I wanna wake up with phone at 100%, and then charge it when I go to sleep.
I'm worried that charging phone for 6/7 hours during night can damage my battery, and I'm thinking if i need to buy another charger!
What do you think?
I owned a oneplus 6 for one year now and the battery is as good as on the first day. Always charged it with dash charge over night. so: no, dont care about it, it won't damage anything
The phone stops drawing current when its full. Waiting for my 7 Pro to arrive and replace my OP3. Used the OP3 for 3 years and only this month the battery started showing signs of wear with capacity of approx. 82% left now. So yes, don't worry about it.
Should be fine if that's your routine...

I just got my Asus Transformer, I charged it full out of the box for 8 hours as initial charge. Should i drain it to 0 % and charge it for second time? or Just wait until 10 %?
Doesn't matter. I usually charge it when it gets to 10%.
For the first times I waited till 10% or something to fully recharge.
But after a lot of reading about the matter, I have found lots of opinions, so I think it doesn't make a big difference.
Regards.
Alright. Thanks man. Will just charge when 10%
From asus manual:
"Remember to fully charge the battery (8 hours or more) before first use and whenever it is depleted to prolong battery life. The battery reaches its maximum capacity after a few full charging and discharging cycles."
After awhile, Lithium-Ion Batteries don't really care how you charge them, or what their capacity is. Charging a battery at say 50% vs 10% won't really add that much more juice. I wouldn't really concern yourself OP..
Guys, the first 8hour charging means that I must charge separatly 8hours tablet and next 8hours dock? Because I put dock and tablet together and charge it 8hours. Was it wrong? Then I was using it connected tablet+dock together until it was showned warning that battery dropped under 5% and orange LED on the side of dock was blicking. Then I charged it again together and after 5hour of charging, LED is green and tablet shows 100%. Is it OK? Did I do something wrong?
Thanks
One question to you guys: During the first 8 hour charge, were you able to turn on the tablet? Because mine is sitting since 2 hours now and it won't turn on.
I have managed to turn it on.It required to keep the On button for about 10 seconds.

You're fine. The goal is to get the batteries fully charged rather than, say, up to 50% and then stop.
Last I read, LiPo batteries do not need deep cycling to maximize battery life or restore lost capacity due to battery "memory." Some recommend an initial full charge followed by full depletion, but go on to note that is largely to calibrate battery usage stats. I keep most of my LiPo devices plugged in when I'm not using them, because those batteries require "smart" chargers that stop charging when the batteries are full.
If someone has good info to the contrary, I'd love to hear it. But, with well-made devices and chargers, there is no need to follow any sort of careful battery charging regimen. Use it when you need it, and charge it when it needs a charge.

Mine was partially charged and turned on out of the box. Perhaps you have a power button with a loose connection? As long as it's working now, I would not worry about it.
finally today I recive my TR from US,& question is
are all of you guys ,charged 8 hours your TF
coz my is after 3 hours of charging TF is full 100%
& stay like that almost 2 hours more...
should I wait more 2 hours(for calibration reason)
or I can use it now
In the manual, it says charge for 8 hours before first use. I doubt that using before 8 hours is up will damage anything, but why risk it? I'd leave it on the charger.

Thanks for reply. My TF last 15hours of work after second charging. I think everything is OK with battery.

Right in the little pamphlet (that counts as a manual ) under the TF in the box. I'm sure, because it's one of the few times I've read a manual in the last decade.
I´m charging my new TF for the first time and it´s reached 100% after 3 hours. Is it ok to start using it now or must i wait 5 more hours for the 8 that´s stated in the asus-booklet?
You could use it while its charging. First charge is really important. Dont stop the charge

^^ Be patient and let it charge.
Hi there
I just want to share with you how I fixed my battery. The problem I had was that my HTC Desire HD did not recharged the battery. Every time I plugged the charger, the smartphone flickered orange, green, orange, green, orange, green and then stopped charging.
What a I did was to place the battery into the freezer for 3 days. Then took it out and waited until its temperature came to normal.
When I tryed to charge it again, the Desire HD flickerd again the same combination but after 5 seconds it started to charge regulary
may it a good trial ?
but i wonder that does your battery work normal after you charged it ?and how does it performance
I have one battery just bought and used for 3 months but I forgot and put it in over discharge then its capacity drop from 1000mAh to just only 500mAh. I just though some of its's cell became death
Well, after 24 hours since I unplugged the charger it still keeps 29% of battery.
Of these 24 hours, the phone keep flight mode 8 hours (I always use when I go to bed), and the other 16 it has been working with Wifi always on, 2G and sync on.
I am not a very intensive user as you can guess, but for me, it is more than enough after thinking that battery was dead. Anyway, I already order a genuine replacement battery at eBay (I didn't think freezing the battery could recover it) so I just will keep the old one until I get the new one

Wow, never heard of this option to revive a battery. But good to know and I maybee will need it one day, so thanks ;D
Good tip for when you're stuck without a phone! Sometimes also works on chargers that die (put in a bag, freeze for 20 minutes, try again), and hard drives (got a 15 year old HDD working long enough to get some data off it).
PS, keep the HDD in the bag once out of the freezer, condensation forms on the bag and not the HDD.
Hello, i have my sensation from 2011.
I recently bought him a new battery (2 days ago). !I didn't charge it while being closed yet.
So far i only charged him fully once.
The second time this morning (8 hours of charge time) it was only at ~76%.
In the first 2 hours it charged fast, and when (apparently, i don't know if it really has anything to do with it) the battery temp got lower it stoped charging, when i checked the hour when i woke up the battery started to charge again because the temperature of it raised.
I'm not sure if it has anything to do with battery temperature, I observed this from the screenshot.
When i charge it closed it ussualy charges in ~2 hours. But it barely gets to 3/4 charged when left 8 hours?!?! this is ridiculous.
Do any of you know what might cause the problem?
Is it a genuine HTC Battery? Have you tried it with a different ROM?
Maybe a calibration using Battery Monitor Widget can help.
It is a geniune one.
My other battery had this problem too.
Received my #Note5 last wed. Brand new out the box. When i got it the battery was at 5%. No problem. I turned it off until i got home. Good home. Charged it. I noticed after an hour of "fast charging" the battery wad at 93%. I fell asleep, woke up 2 hours later. Battery was still at 93%. I unplug and decided to let it discharge so i can try again.
Second charge, the battery gets to 100%, but then quickly drains down to 92%. (No exaggeration, the battery went down to 92% in 5 minutes). This happens again on the 3rd charge. Abs since then i only get about 4 to 5 hours of battery life with regular use. (Nothing excessive) it even dies quick on standby and on power save mode. Did i hey a bad Note? I've read reviews about the battery being pretty good, but I'm just not seeing it. Wondering if i should take it back to sprint. I'd it worth it?
Exchange the device. Won't hurt to try.
Please take it to a Sprint service and Repair store and have them look at it. This does not sound like the correct behavior. Thanks!
I did. The guy said it's something internally wrong. So I'll be getting a new one. ?
I am glad that worked out!
Smh. Same problem. New note, had it about 3 weeks now, battery still giving me problems. Im not doing anything crazy or putting any strain on the battery and thus is whats happening. Is it just me or what? Seems like im the only one having an issue with the battery life. Smh

Try this before taking it back.
plug your phone to the charger and wait until it shows 100% then.. Dial *#0228# unplug your phone and hit quick start, you may see a popup warning , just hit OK, unlock your phone and you will realize your phone have been lying to you
Plug it again and repeat until level 100% matches with your battery icon showing 100%, you may not need it, or maybe need to do it 2 or 3 times
I have not had any issues on my note 5 but it worked great on my note 3.
Ok so update.. monday when i got home i decided i wasnt going to fast charge my battery, instead use the regular charger adapter. Betsy is at 100% tried the *#0228# said the battery was at 100%. Went through regular use and the battery ended up last about 12 hours. (Minus a few hours downtime for me being sleep ill give it a good 8 hours) ok cool. So after ut got down to about 20-15% i charged it again with the regular adapter. This time (with sleep time added) i got about 16 hours on the battery. Ok cool. Another regular charge, 16 hours but i charged it here and there in between. Today around 4 i decided yo fast charge it. 100% around 5 o'clock. Its now 3:16am my time and im at 29% 9 and half hours on the battery... i also noticed in the beginning on fast charge the battery died a lot faster. So i think what ill do is charge it with the regular adapter for now on unless I'm in a situation where i have no choice but to fast charge like if im at work or something. All is well now. ???

I almost always charge my pphone over night and that means it is charging about 8 hours. This means that I don't really have any use of dash charging during the night. I already have a 1A charger by my beside so it would charge the battery pretty slowly, couple of hours.
What is best to keep the battery in a good condition? Dash charging it for 8 hours every night or just charging it very slowly with a third party charger?
It would be very good for your battery just to charge it till about 90-95% and never let it to completely drain. You can charge your battery till 100% after some time (after two or three weeks). Overcharging it at night doesn't do any good, even with 1A charger. Google it
for the last 5 years i have done the folowing: Charge to 100% over night..
did i see any drastic change in battery? no...
todays phone batteries are wayyyyy better than before.
after 2 years i still had better batterylife than most with my s7-edge
same with my sony z3
so i just stopped caring about how to charge. Use and charge when needed.
On the OP6 however i charge when i come from work to play with my daughter and eat (usually from 60% to 95%) and for the weekends i charge when/if needed..
i feel like people are just overthinking everything theese days. if you need to replace battery in a year it will only cost you 30euro (35 today) with shipping and all.. so.
I do, but it probably doesn't make any difference. The Dash Charger slow charges after 60% anyway to prevent real battery damage over time. Degradation is inevitable, but charging overnight won't likely make it worse or better. I've always done so.
Thank you!
I'm mainly asking because I need a 2m long cable and it will lead to slower charging.
