Has anyone figured out how to get free-form windows working on the Fire HD 8 2018? I've attempted to enable this through ADB, but none of my apps are showing up in them.
Any ideas?

I tried that actually already. It ended up breaking the OS. Then I just put lineage on it. Haha!

It adds the ability to multi boot. Kind of like your computer being able to run windows and linux, this lets our phones run up to 5 different roms

Yeah I've tried it once, didn't work for me.. for a moment i was afraid i had bricked my phone, so i would not recommend it. but I'm not sure that I've done everything correctly

I just gave it a shot -- I added all the stuff manually, but would get an error that it was unable to download the files. I ended up using a titanium backup to load the data and after that it would launch. However, when I tried installing a ROM, I would get an error that it was unable to create a new boot.img. I might try a different ROM to see if that works.
please let us know if it worked!

I just rooted ematic Pro 2 series tablet.

thanks! i added my device to the drivers and they worked but I cant seem to get it rooted using the root and restore thing. it says:

Try to root with another program, RootBurner_v0.2, google it. or just get it from https://sites.google.com/site/tabletpcdaytonohio/downloads.
Also, make sure tablet is connected to the PC thru USB2 port, not USB3.

This should work. It only installs su so in order to test whether it's working you'll need some superuser manager app

Try with different drivers (look around, there are links for drivers). As an alternative try to do it from a Linux box.

In this case your phone probably is updated to the latest firmware, which removes all fastboot commands (I found this yesterday when I had the opportunity to use a patch from the last update). We had a discussion on the matter in the Info about OTA updates thread.

So because I don't rely on my phone for Netflix and I couldn't necessarily find the u1 firmware which I probably made harder than it was to find . I just went without it. I just needed it for while I was building a computer and installing windows 10.

Flashing a Custom ROM doesn't require current FireOS is got rooted, but flashing a Custom Recovery (e.g. TWRP ) before.
