This is a starter thread for getting Nintendo's latest Android app (which has finally come from iOS over three months later), Super Mario Run, to work on Android devices that have been rooted and possibly have no Google Play Store installed. Developers, please contribute your findings!
It worked with root but I got an error when I finished the tutorial. Then I saved my game with a Nintendo account and I cleared game data. I've used magisk hide with this game and I can play again

After you've installed Magisk you just need to go to the Settings in the Magisk Manager APP and enable Magiskhide and then you should See a new tab for Magisk hide in the Manager APP and just select the Apps you want to hide root.
(Sorry for my Bad English)

So do I flash via twrp the zip in the magisk post?
I use magisk to hide mario but when i pass the tutorial send error 804 5100 and have to delete the Account:.xml located in /data/data/com.nintendo.zara/sharedfolder and then log in with my account so brings my save but i complete 1 course and the same error again and have to do it all over again, does anybody find a solution for this?
Is magisk a supersu replacement or can I just install alongside? It also says it requires 5.x so no 4.4?
Magisk work great for me

it is a supersu replacement but the magisk is great and has better functions and the moduls are great, forget the turning off part and the the recovery and flash the zip, the magisk do it all for you!

Don't think magisk works with cm12 on Amzn Fire Phone bc bootloader isn't actually unlocked. They should limit SafetyNet to Leaderboards - pretty sure that's what all the fuss is about. Fine, Nintendont take my money!
Magisk Manager won't install Magisk on my rooted S7 Edge. I've read that it's not compatible with Samsung devices right now, don't know if that's true. How else can I make Super Mario Run work?
suhide give me bootloop with lineos so I will try magisk

Yes, You can use it alongside with SuperSU.
Hi !
Same error for me... I installed Magisk, uninstalled SuperSU, set the Super Mario App to hide but i still get the error...
Did I miss something ?
Thanks
Rooted Nexus 5 running Cataclysm 6.0.1
Miitomo was patched using a special security bypasser made for it, and also with XPosed and RootCloak. Is there a similar method for those who seem to have issues using Magisk?
I myself haven't tried Magisk. I'll see how it works on my Galaxy S7. :fingers-crossed:
Xda, please merge this thread with the other thread that I made. I accidentally made a duplicate.
I do not have Google Play services installed, and it seems to need it.
I'm currently running Magisk with Magisk Hide on and RootCloak as well and it keeps erroring out. Currently the only workaround I've found is deleting the deviceAccount xml file in the app prefs folder. I have a feeling it has something to do with xposed or safetynet that's causing it to fail. I enjoy the game enough that I wouldn't mind buying it, but not if Nintendo is going to lock users out like this.
Hey,
Does anyone have or can make a November patched boot image that has just the unlocked state check disabled so SafetyNet will pass? I want to play PoGo and have no use for root or Magisk at this time, but can't play because Niantic added extra checks beyond just SafetyNet passing. The Canary build of Magisk is unstable right now and among other things blocks charging with the device off, which is kind of dangerous. The Magisk hide on Pixel 3s also still seems hit or miss from that build. I also don't want to have to wipe my phone just to get rid of Magisk and pass SafetyNet right now.
I don't have my Linux dev environment up to date because I haven't done kernel work in a couple years, so hopefully someone else is already set up to throw in the couple quick patches from source and spit out an image.
Thanks!
Why are you looking at the Magisk Canary build? 17.3 Beta is working just fine on both Pixel 3 and PIxel 3 XL.

Hiding the Magisk Manager app itself (which PoGo looks for) doesn't work correctly. It sometimes creates a second copy and also can cause root to be lost.

Gotcha. I've never lost root with 17.3, nor has anything failed due to Manager not hiding or creating a duplicate. Stinks that they are that concerned about device rooting for a game.
Hello Everyone!
It's been a while since i surf in here, just wanted to give a tutorial about how to install Xposed Framework in this Redmi Note 5, check this out ( do with your own risk! backup is a must, tested in the latest Pixel Experience ROM)
Before you proceed, you need to have Magisk installed and make sure its working in your device. Now lets install Xposed.
First Step:
- Download EdXposed Installer.apk and EdXposed Magisk zip module Here
- Download RiruCore Magisk zip Module Here
Second Step:
- First, install the EdXposed Installer first.
- Then, Flash the RiruCore magisk module.
- Lastly, Flash the EdXposed Magisk module then reboot.
Third Step:
- Open the EdXposed app and see if the status is green, that means the xposed framework is now working on your device, and you can proceed to download and install xposed module you want. (Note: this is still in beta, so that means not all Xposed Module will work 100%, install with caution or you can check in Here to see the list of what working and what not so far.)
-Enjoy.
Sorry if some of you already know on how to do this, i just wanted to share it with you guys, since i haven't see any of similar thread like this.
Have a good day, hope this one helps :good:
needy guide
Thanks for that...
But..
If have ore supported xposed please share us.
!
Tried this on my whyred running Pixel Experience Pie ROM. Worked as expected. Of the modules I tested, some are working fine, some aren't. GravityBox developer is working on a Pie release, waiting for that!
No Xposed Installer.APK in FP.
This is better instructions:
Try type in Google
Install Xposed Framework & Modules on Android 9.0 Pie naldotech

What do you mean no apk?
You're right. My fault. I just looked at version v0.2.9.9_beta2 and not on the older one below it.
and how do you uninstall now?

it is a redmi note 4 with android 9 and miui 11
(EdXposedManager-4.5.5-45510-org.meowcat.edxposed.manager-release.apk
magisk-EdXposed-v0.2.9.6_beta-release.zip

In the past I've always installed V4A on all of my phones but they also all had twrp.
Has anyone risked adding V4A to the stock rooted 8t yet?
The latest one 2.7.2.1 should support Android 11. You can find it on Magisk Module section.
Be sure it's NOT legacy of XHiFI, just the regular one from zackptg5.
It works dolby arise all do just have to do it in right order or delete magisk mods reboot start over
I'm considering buying this phone but if it lacks support for BASIC attestation would mean that hiding root would be impossible and hence the phone would be useless for me.

As of now with magisk 23.0 on Android 11 I'm able to hide everything g-pay all banking credit card apps working. Magisk is changing in Android 12 so I'm unsure. But I believe there are still some modules we can use to hide su access in magisk canary beta for 12.
There are several modules for Magisk that allow for basic. I have been using them since I bought the phone on release day, and have been able to use all apps. I would recommend sticking to Magisk v23 instead of the newer version, as hide has been removed (for now). You will get conflicting advice on this, and will most likely have to make a decision to move to a12 or keep hide down the line.
Lmk if you would like my list or modules.

I have no intention of ever updating to Android 12 so this won't matter. My oneplus 5T has been on Android 8.1 for years (mainly because I wanted that sweet sweet taste of the original rovo89 Xposed framework) and it has worked fine but it's clearly nearing the end of its life and has a slightly broken screen.
OP9 LE2110 with OOS 11.2.8.8.LE25BA rooted with Magisk 23. Working apart of banking app. G Pay is ok
Everything is working great with latest Magisk Alpha, Universal SafetyNet Fix and Zygisk enabled with Deny list (New MagiskHide)
