I have an unlocked T-Mobile One plus 7 pro connected to fastboot. I can run the command fastboot devices and it shows up fine. Says I need an unlock token to unlock the bootloader. Can someone advise me on what to do next or how to get the unlock token? Thank you
You are sim unlocked, right? Just making sure.. You do not need the unlock token, unless you plan to stay on the t-mobile OOS version. There's a guide right here to convert your phone to the international OOS, and thus unlock bootloader with "fastboot oem unlock"

If you're planning to stick with the t-mobile oos, can you, or any with a rooted t-mobile oos care to disclose if RCS continues to work? Thanks.
It says I need a decryption key to access the first link you posted? Any idea
Well, I had to request an unlock code and get the unlock token in order to unlock the bootloader in the first place, then I could root, twrp, and port to the international rom
Now I cant get the msm tool to open... It says it's been opened but it's not opening
@akinkoff85 , it takes a full 7 days to get the unlock_code.bin , but I think it's worth the wait.

You need to put a SIM chip in your phone from a different carrier. When you restart the phone it will ask for the unlock code. Enter the code and your phone should then work with any SIM inserted.
If you don't have a SIM from another carrier you can root your phone and install Galaxy S Unlocker from the market for free. Once you do open it up and click on unlock. Your phone will now be unlocked.
---------- Post added at 08:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:05 PM ----------
You can then check that it is unlocked by opening your dialer and entering *#7465625#
I wipe the rom out of my phone and I can do the oem unlock now to do bootloader and install a new rom, can anyone help me ?
how would you wipe the rom from your phone without unlocking it ? , also flash factory firmware to restore your phone to a woking state
lol.. how did you do that? it shouldn't be possible to wipe your firmware without oem unlock

yea i thought the same thing .. :/
If you still have a bootloader, you should still be able to raise the unlock request code through adb.

The entire sequence is run from the bootloader and doesn't require ROM to boot.

But it does require OEM Unlocking be enabled in Developer Options first, or it won't work. I think that is OP's issue.

Without booting into ROM means via Fastboot (not ADB), and no, OEM Unlocking was specifically designed to not be done from the bootloader or by any means other than the "owner" allowing on a working system. Meaning it is designed so that it can't be done without proper permissions. So far no one has found a way to enable OEM Unlocking on a device that has it implemented, without booting into the ROM and doing it through the developer menu.
Seems foolish and against the spirit of asop.

No, actually it doesn't at all... AOSP is the open source android project, the core of Android, and like any good operating system it has security features to protect personal information and property. The features are not blocked or removed, they are clearly available with a few extra steps, under normal circumstances the situation the OP has cannot exist and they should be able to just send the phone in for repair because this is device failure.
Hi Guys! im trying to lock my bootloader again for warranty reasons. i just cant seem to be able to do it, can anyone give me a little guide or link me to one? would be much appreciated. im having current EMUI 4.0 version on it.
go here and download honor multitool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6/general/honor6-multi-tool-t2963060
plug the phone to the pc, then open the multitool, select B (Bootloader) then use the key 2 (Re-lock) you must have the code you used to unlock it. Follow the procedure and you are locked again.
no use..
even if you locked your bootloader again... they will somehow find it out that you havd unlocked it before, so/.

It says in fastboot mode, bootloader relocked so they will know for sure
code will be 1 instead of 0 even if u unlock so its useless
They dont take warranty serious. I had bootloader unlocked, cwm flashed, bootloop, no unlock key, no adb function( remote:command not allowed) and they fixed it. Didn't had to pay one cent. Now i learned from my mistakes

I'm shocked there is absolutely no discussion on the new method that just launced. Due to the lack of activity, it's not made clear if the bootloader unlock method unlocks the sim card as well.. I don't even know if the method is worth taking or has any significant issues in the longrun..
Convert to international and it bypasses it
Edit:
Nevermind didn't read it correctly
If you're talking about the q upgrade to get bootloader unlocked. I'm kind of surprised too.
I unlocked my bootloader via that method and it did not sim unlock my op7p. I dropped an at&t sim and it told me the phone is network locked and to use the Tmo unlock app.
Any method of getting it Sim unlocked if you are outside of the US?

None that I know of if you buy a network locked version like the GM1915 from TMobile. Have to go through the carrier for SIM unlock on those.
The guy that started the tmo to international conversion thread said it's possible, but complicated and would be release later. Hope they get it out soon.
The Q unlocks the bootloader but the GSM SIM is still locked. I tried this command and got this response
./fastboot erase modemst2
Erasing 'modemst2' FAILED (remote: 'Erase is not allowed for Critical Partitions
')
./fastboot reboot
Rebooting OKAY [ 0.002s]
Would be grateful to find someone with useful info on how to sim unlock this phone.
Thanks
man, would love to find a way to sim unlock this outside the US. sucks
If you have t-mobile version there are 2 guys on guide thread that unlock the phone through the t-mobile app. If your using t-mobile outside the carrier you will have to pay to a 3er party service eBay haves them
Do you know of any 3rd party service that can do this? Please let me know, thanks

Refer to my thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/t-mobile-op7-pro-sim-unlock-t3957662) if you need your T-Mobile OP7 Pro SIM unlocked.
The issue is that I'm outside US. I bought my phone on eBay and it had outstanding balance. The seller didn't provide me with the information you need for unlocking.

No, these commands are for the dangerous ability to flash & erase criticals like modem.
The code to unlock BL is:
fastboot oem unlock
(Erases all data)
---------- Post added at 08:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:53 AM ----------
I dunno if BL can be downgraded bc OP7P starts on android 9 rom which has security patches which prevent flashing to modem.
Found this thread for a different phone which has the same issue you guys are having:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/essential-phone/help/failed-remote-flashing-allowed-modem-t3924591
If BL can be modified, the perhaps you can erase/flash Modemst1 & 2. If anyone knows of someone who tinkers with BL, bring them here :fingers-crossed:

Ok when you flash the msm, it locks the bootloader so you gotta use the bin file that you got.to unlock the bootloader from fastboot then it will be greyed out.

Yes but you need to have your device sim unlocked first before you apply. You can get that through TMobile. Also check out the thread of the person helping with unlocking the sim.

i cant get the unlock code from fastboot. maybe there is a workaround like with the op7p where oneplus released a beta with an unlocked bootloader. i have the patched msm.exe from then but it wont load the .ops file.
is it possible that if i flash the eu or international .ops file it will allow me to unlock the bootloader?
Not that I know of yet. If you can't get the unlock code, most likely you're not sim unlocked.

I have an unlocked EU model IN2023 from Amazon UK and my OEM unlock button is greyed out. I'm so confused
I see this is an older thread, but I have the same problem with Nord CE; Oneplus support is not of any help (they just spam me with "we don't help with unlocking the bootloader, it's a security problem").
Anyone found a workaround?
