No OS Installed!!! Help Please! - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

I tried to get magisk to work after installing the latest OTA and I did something wrong and had to wipe all the data from the Oneplus recovery menu. Towards the end in TWRP while wiping, I wiped off the OS by mistake. After clicking reboot, it just rebooted to the fastboot menu and when I click 'Go to recovery' on the fastboot menu it just boots back to the fastboot menu. My device is not being detected in powershell when I type in adb devices and it might be because after the first wipe that happened I didnt turn on adb debugging. I do not have twrp and my device is not being detected by my pc in powershell for me to adb push the whole os and twrp and flash them. I am literally freaking my skin off at this moment. Please help me. If I didnt mention any important detail please ask, Im super frightened so I might have missed something.
tl dr: No OS, no TWRP and locked in fastboot. (thanks to null0seven)

You should be able to use TWRP to reflash the OS. Personally, I would put the device in EDL mode and use the MSM Tool to put the device back to factory stock. Once back to stock, you can get your OTA and then reflash TWRP and root your device once again.

I am not able to use TWRP. In the fastboot menu when I enter the 'Go to Recovery' option it just reboots back to the fastboot menu.
I'm relatively a noob in all this so if there's any other way please mention it.
UPDATE: I am currently downloading the stuffs required for the MSM tool, the download is extremely slow. Will check back once the download is done and I tried it. Thanks for atleast giving me some hope in the time being.

While in the MSM tool after clicking 'Start', I got a 'Sahara Communication Failed' error. What do I do now?
UPDATE: Another problem right now is that after holding the volume up and down buttons simultaneously for a few seconds and inserting the cable to enter EDL mode (it shows as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 in device manager), within a few seconds the phone reboots into the fastboot again.

Sahara error it's not a real error. After that MSM does not finish installing OS?
But first try FastBoot rom :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...fastboot-roms-oneplus-7-pro-t3931424#poststop
Choose the one you need. For example i need GM31BA (european version)

adb won't work in fastboot, by definition (only works in OS and TWRP). Fastboot mode is for fastboot (and fastboot does not need debugging to be on). And fastboot is what you want, to flash the stock ROM.

No, its written waiting for communication with device and the app stops responding. I would attach a screenshot of the error but I myself am not able to try this method again (Check the update in my previous post).
UPDATE: I'm currently downloading the fastboot ROM. Hope it works.

He, prathk,
write that it's locked on Fastboot. NO twrp, no OS. That's why i suggest Fastboot rom, before MSM tool.

this is GOOD. youre phone drivers are corect. Remove the cable from phone.
Do this :
With phone off hold both volume buttons only and plug cable into computer .
Or power off the phone. Press vol. UP, 5to 10 seconds, plug the cable.
Youre problem with MSM tool it's that the phone it's not shut OFF !

Thanks for the suggestion in your previous post, I added it.
I tried both the methods and both resulted in 'Sahara Communication Failed'.
And now even on trying both the methods it keeps restarting to the fastboot menu.

If the phone it's not off MSM not working.
Alternatively you can force your OnePlus 7 Pro to boot to EDL mode by the following steps:
Power off the phone.
Plug in the USB cable your computer but do not connect the other end to the phone.
Hold down Volume Up and Volume Down buttons for a few seconds, and plug in the cable while you are continuing to hold them.
You should see the anticipated EDL mode.

As advised before, you need to download the fastboot package made by @mauronofrio
Run the "flash-all-partitions.bat" while in fastboot.
You seemed mebbe confused before, adb and fastboot are different, adb is only to be used either within the rom or while in recovery. Fastboot is to be used while you're in Fastboot mode. It will still let you flash multiple partitions, hence why the fastboot fix should work.
For future reference, the best way to wipe data while leaving the rom intact is "fastboot -w", that will also remove encryption. (The flash-all-partitions batch file will do this too)
As long as you get a result after typing "fastboot devices" then you should be ok.

I flashed the Fastboot ROM as many of you suggested and it worked. Thanks to everyone who helped out and also thanks for correcting my knowledge. I just want to know if I'll still be getting OTA updates as usual or should I manually download it and flash it from now onwards.

If you've flashed the default partitions you should get OTA, if you flash TWRP and root then you'll download the entire new rom, you don't get an OTA option.

Does it reboot when you try to enter recovery or it restarts itself at boot process i.e honor boot animation shows up and then it restarts (bootloop).
I really don't know why you are still unable to boot to recovery. Were you able to boot to stock recovery before flashing custom? Also, is your bootloader unlocked?
Your best bet at this stage would be to flash stock recovery and then completely flash stock ROM. This would wipe your data but will resurrect your device from bootloop.

Cannot boot my OnePlus 6! Please help!

Hey guys!
So, my OnePlus 6 won't boot! My problems started when I tried to flash MIUI 10 port. Idk what I did, and appeared to me "your device is corrupted". But ok, i could boot normally.
Then, I tried to downgrade, as there is a tutorial here in XDA, I was in OOS 9.0.4, then rollback to 5.1.1 (i guess) with appropriate file. Installed it, and rebooted it. But it was taking longer than I expected, and I rebooted it into fastboot mode to flash stock image into fastboot (as there is a tutorial here too). And after this, the ROM install, in my computer everything seems to be ok, but as soon as the CMD reboots it, the message "unlocked bootloader" appears, and then, goes black. Only that. Oh, the notification LED also lights up white!
I connected it into my pc, and i can hear the sound that "something is plugged in", but I can do nothing. I can access fastboot mode normally though.
Tried the tutorial in msm download tool, but had some problems... I mean, it doesn't recognize my phone, but if I put in PowerShell, and type "fastboot devices", it recognizes it.
Could you please help me?

Did you installed fastboot adb drivers and oneplus drivers?
Or maybe try to wipe everything in fastboot and then install fastboot stock rom...
Follow the guide of msmdownloadtool, it's the best way to recover your phone, it's a pain the part of install the qualcom driver, but persist
only way to recover stock receovery and back to normal is to install msmdownload tool you can see the videos available on you tube

I tried this method before, and find this method to be simpler. If the PC is not recognizing your phone, try powering completely off, then press Volume Up button for at least 5 secs before plugging into the PC and going into the MSM flashing tool. You don't need OnePlus drivers preinstalled for the PC to recognize your phone in this state. From there, just click "Start" on the MSM flashing tool, and wait for your phone to boot back to life. Take note any data inside will be completely wiped clean, like it was flashed from the factory. This YouTube guide here will help you better understand this.

If you are able to use fastboot, can you download the latest compatibly TWRP for your device from the official website (twrp.me) get the IMG & ZIP files ( you can use just the image for both, but to keep it simple get both).
Boot into TWRP using the image you just downloaded by running
Code:
fastboot boot <img file name>
Your device should reboot into TWRP.
With your device in TWRPyou should be able to push the file to the phone using ADB push.
Code:
adb push <twrp zip file.zip> /sdcard/
From within TWRP install this zip image. * Now you should have a permanent TWRP recovery, until another OS/recovery flash.
To get the OS on the phone now -
Download the most recent official release for Stable OOS.
Code:
adb push <full os image.zip> /sdcard/
*That should put the file in the root of the SD card folder.
Again use TWRP to install this zip file on to the phone. * This will wipe the TWRP image we had just installed.
To get TWRP again, just flash TWRP after the OS image flash.
I would also suggest, reboot back into TWRP and install the OS & TWRP again as above.
Flashing the OS twice will flash the same version on both Partition A & B. This is essential.
If you find these steps confusing then the simple solution would be to use the MSM downlad tool it does everything for you with a few clicks.

I really screwed up flashing a rom. PLZ HELP.

Hi y'all
So I was flashing my oneplus 7 pro with pixel experience.
To do it I followed a guide by get droid tips ( i cant post the link this is my first post.)
But now my oneplus is stuck on the google logo and if I go into recovery mdoe I get a message saying no command.
I also get the bootloader is unlocked message before booting up, but nothing happens if press the power button.
Use MSM download tool
I honestly have no idea what to tell you for that specific situation BUT you can always use the tool-all-in-one for op7pro and flash oos back to stock OR use the tool to boot twrp then flash OOS from there

In your situration, I would do the following: (assuming you're on Windows)
Install Android USB driver from: https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb and install them
Download the the platform tools: https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools and put them into a folder somewhere
Boot your phone to the bootloader by turning it off (make sure it's turned off) then press volume up and volume down at the same time until you get into the bootloader screen, then release them both. EDIT: press the power button as well to turn it on.
Open the folder where you put the platform tools you downloaded earlier. Make sure you have a file named fastboot(.exe) in there, if not find it. Hold the shift key on your keyboard and then right click in an empty space in the window (not on a file or folder) and click open command prompt here.
In the command prompt type 'fastboot devices' (without the quotes) and see if your phone is listed, it should be. If not, go to device manager (right click on the windows icon in the bottom left corner -> device manager) and find an Android or something like Unknown device and try to install the USB driver for it.
When your phone is listed by fastboot, then you're good. Download TWRP from here: https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplus7pro.html and put the .img file in the same folder as your platform tools and rename the file to recovery.img
EDIT: correction:

At this point you download a ROM, put it on your phone and flash it. If it doesn't boot, you will probably have to perform a factory reset in TWRP and loose your data.
First, don't panic and breath. Panicking is what causes mistakes and can make the problem more stressful.
Second, more than likely, the reason your PC can't recognize it is because of drivers. You want to ensure you remove previous drivers and install fresh ones. The Qualcomm drivers can be found in the unbrick tool thread that was listed above. With that, your PC should be able to see your phone from there.

This is not the correct way to install TWRP on this device. You need to fastboot boot TWRP.img. From there, you can flash the TWRP installer zip (reference instruction from the TWRP developer here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...nt/recovery-unofficial-twrp-recovery-t3931322).
This phone does not even have a recovery partition to which your command is trying to flash the img to (recovery resides on boot.img partition on this device).

Plug in your phone to your cable to your PC. Reboot the phone and soon as it turns off, hit the sound up & sound down button along with the power button. Hold these down until your PC sounds and verifies you are in EDL mode. Once in EDL, start the app on PC using admin privileges. Once the program has started, run unlock bootloader (option 4) again. Once it's complete, reboot the phone to the OS. Reboot holding power & volume up. This will take you to recovery. Now go to reboot to bootloader. When in fastboot follow the directions to install TWRP. Do not skip any steps! Apparently, steps are being skipped.

I said you need to follow directions. In the directions to run <fastboot boot TWRP.img>, not flash. Then flash the installer if you wish to make it permanent, but I wouldn't recommend making it permanent to allow OTAs to work properly.
Sorry I'm not sure where I've gone wrong here I followed your instructions but when I run the axon edl tool it managed to unlock the bootloader and give me back fast boot with out any stop's on boot up but when I run the axon edl tool I got the error at the end which I posted in the picture so then after that didn't work I put it into fastboot and tried to flash the recovery myself and That didn't work either that's why I posted a photo of that as well

Go into fastboot, connect to your PC and run <fastboot boot TWRP.img> then flash Magisk. Do not flash the recovery. Boot TWRP using the above command. Flashing the recovery will not work. If you read the directions, it tells you that. I have told you everything step by step. If you can access fastboot, you are done with the EDL tool, just go into fastboot and boot TWRP using the ADB command <fastboot boot TWRP. img>

If you read the directions, it tells you that. BTW, I don't think you read the directions. Go back and look at my previous post. You only use the EDL tool to unlock the bootloader. After you have unlocked reboot to the stock recovery and select reboot to fastboot. Then boot TWRP.

[HOWTO]Unlock bootloader/root for most G7's except T-Mo via EDL Mode (EASIER METHOD)

Hi everyone!!
IMPORTANT:NEVER SELECT ERASE OR FORMAT PARTITIONS IN LGUP. IT WILL MESS WITH YOUR IMEI
Im making a new guide to unlock your bootloader/root your device. Its easier to do a little bit risker but if you do it slowly you wont mess up your phone and in the event you do you can always recover it. Remember to FOLLOW ALL THE STEPS or you may end up messing up your phone, The best thing is, you dont need to downgrade to even unlock the bootloader!!
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOUR PHONE BRICKS! YOU ARE FOLLOWING THIS GUIDE AND ITS YOUR CHOICE TO DO IT OR NOT TO DO IT AND YOURE THE ONE DOING IT. I JUST WANT TO HELP OTHERS OUT.
If you cant for some reason access fastboot even flashing the v35 file, use this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/verizon-lg-g710vm20f-t4057031 it says verizon but i think most of the models of the g7 cant acess fastboot so you can try this.
Requirments:
-A PC
-USB Cable to connect your phone of course
- V35 ABL
--The LG FIrehose file
- QPST/QFIL
-9008 drivers FOLLOW THIS GUIDE!! To install drivers properly IF WINDOWS DOESNT INSTALL THEM AUTOMATICALLY!!
-ADB PLATFORM or someway to access fastboot via cmd
-PATIENCE!!
Steps.
Download the V35 abl,LG Fire house file, download and install qppst and install the 9008 drivers (WUNDOWS 10 should automatically do it for you) If not, download it and install them.
Boot into edl mode via connecting your phone to the pc then turning it off. Hold Vo- and power and keep pushing the vol+ button multiple times when it turns off.
Go into device manager and check if its detected. to check open up device manager and check Ports and it should say Some port 9009 Qualcomm or something like that (IF theres a question mark, exclamation mark or it says qhusb bulk even after you install the drivers, make sure you disable driver signature enforcment on windows and install the drivers again. Theres multiple ways to do it just google on how to disable driver signature enforcment windows 10. Same with windows 7/8,)
Run as administrator qfil and select flat build,.
--Programmer Type: Load the firehose file
-- On the top go to configuration and where it says Device type, make sure you change it to ufs.
-- Click ok to save and exit
At this point qfil should be detecting your port . If not there should be a select port button next to it on top.
Go to Tools then Partition Manager
A window should pop up with all the partitions. If you get a shara failed error, make sure your drivers are installed correctly and try rebooting into edl again once more. To do that just hold vol - and power until the lg logo comes up and then keep holding vol - and power again and once it turns off again just do the edl combination again.
Search for abl_a and right click on it. First do Read Data, it should take only a couple of seconds Then Load Image and load the v35 image. It should say GPT Finished or something like that at the log with no errors.
Reboot holding volume - and power for like 20-30 seconds until the lg logo comes up Then hold the down button to boot into fastboot or it will automatically boot into fastboot depending on what version of android you are on.
Open the folder where your adb tools are, then hold shift +Right Click in the folder and open powershell. Type and enter CMD
Enter: Fastboot oem unlock it should output with OKAY, If it gives you unknown command, try a USB 2.0 port and then turn off your phone and while its booting up enter the command before you boot into fastboot. Once thats done dont close the window yet!!
Once thats done you can now restore your other abl so you can boot back into android. To do that run %appdata% in the search bar or in the run window by holding the windows button and pressing the R button. Then you should be in C:\Users\{YOUR USERNAME}\AppData\Roaming
Open up the Qualcomm folder --> QFIL --> COMPORT#
There should be a ReadData Blah blah.bin in there. Drag and drop that in the folder where your adb tools are
then go back to the window i told you not to close (The powershell/cmd window) then do fastboot flash abl_a (The file name with ReadData) without the ( ).
Now you can turn off the phone vial holding volume - and power and then reboot into android!! You should get a bootloader unlocked or a cannot be checked for courrption message! Congrats your bootloader is unlocked!!
To root: Just back up your boot image via and then find it in %Appdata% put it in your phone then use magisk manager to patch the boot file and then take that boot file and then flash it to boot_a via edl.
I tried my best to write this guide and sorry for my grammatical mistakes. Ill be helping people unlock/root their bootloaders for free during this covid time as well. If you want to donate you can always tell me but its not necessary.
Ill try making a video as soon as i can.
Nice guide,

Yes and no. Yes it will unlock the bootloader but the problem with verizon there is no fastboot unless you erase the laf imgs.
Which is why in my guide I use the crossflashed ULM11g it has fastboot and the oem unlock enable button which makes it easier to issue the "fastboot oem unlock" command.
Give it a try and if your not good at doing this with qfil will brick your device. If you run into issues try my guide.

I m stuck in this step

always got Shara failed error.
Has windows 10 and tried all possibilities.

****.. Unlocked bootloader. Lost Widewine L1. Relocked bootloader again. but Widewine L3 is available. Anyway to get it back to L1. I remember My pixel and Op6 could get back Widewine L1 after relocking bootloader again.

From ecperince just keep doing that. Nut before entering fastboot put the command in and press enter then reboot directly into fastboot. Kerp doing it unt you see the orsnge unlocked bootloader on your g7 screen
Hey op or whomever can help point me in the right direction: when looking at used/refurbished g7's which models should I ask sellers about or steer away from like the LMG710R (I know the LMG710TM is a no go, what about the Sprint unlocked for GSM and what's there code if I want to avoid them?)?
Thanks.

here is the same link from main post (that link has some hyperlink issue)

Would this work on LG710N (korean) ??
Once the bootloader is unlocked with this method DRM is lost forever. Even relocking the bootloader will not bring Widewine certification to L1. I am back to stock with locked bootloader. Widewine is at L3.
