[KERNEL][AOSP] mk2000 Kernel [v0.8] - LG G5 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Developme

This is a kernel rebuilt from scratch. Based on the latest LG source code, and LA.UM.6.5.r1-04300-8x96.0 (with manual updates).
It aims to fix possible strange bugs caused by older LG code in stock LOS kernel, and to make things clear and tidy.
It brings in most of the patches from the stock mk2000 kernel.
Right now it's in early development. Currently, LOS itself is in development, so naturally various issues may be encountered.
NOTE:
These zips doesn't touch system (no modules, all built in).
If you backup the boot partition before installing, then restoring that will return you to the exact state you were in before.

Two days ago I changed the ROM from the official Lineage OS and today I get to your kernel yet [emoji3]
I'm going to be testing.
Edit:
And the first good thing. I had problems with sound at low volume, but with your kernel everything is already OK.

Thanks man! Just flashed it on x86cpu's LOS 16, everything good so far!?

UPDATE: After flashing everything was working ok but I noticed the phone was really warm so I rebooted.
After a reboot i started receiving a lot of FC popup about almost every app. Reboot again, apps working but when I started to play PUBG the sound was totally distorted. Reboot again, same problem. I'm back to stock kernel now, but while i was on yours i could check briefly a logcat to check the adb messages and I remember some weird message about AC3_codec not installed, sorry I can't be more specific

But you should turn off ADB in phone settings before install the kernel.

I have first problem. On this kernel phone is not going in to deep sleep...
Back to Lineage kernel and deep spleep is worki g fine.

There's one very strange thing about these kernels. With the original LineageOS and yours. On the Lineage kernel I have a problem with low volume sound. It crackles and hums. On your kennel there is no such problem, but in games the sound sounds almost like MIDI.
I use LG H850 and clean installation of LineageOS 16.0

I will look into that for next update.
About deep sleep issue. I don't have that. It's been sitting idle for days now, with occasional use in-between, and there are no problem with deep sleep.
Actually idle battery seems comparable with stock + mk2k. This is after fixing the perfd log-spamming though, which I wrote about in LOS 16.0 thread.
Before that there was unacceptable drain. Not sure if my kernel helped in that regard though.

Maybe it was my fault, because on the original kernel it happened to me too. Maybe it was the fault of some application. I installed BBS and observe.

not installed rs988.

New builds up
Changes:
* WireGuard
* Disabled something possibly causing issue with sound
* Simple Low Memory Killer (by sultanxda, replacement for default android lmk)
I have not tested this build myself.
NOTE: Still requires ADB disabled, as I've not attempted to address this just yet.

Audio still does not sound properly.
The phone shuts down or resets after about a minute.
And one thing about the sound. Sounds bad in games, but when I watch YouTube or listen to music everything is OK. On this and on the previous beta.
And here are two videos that show what I mean when it comes to sound.
On LOS kernel
https://youtu.be/lJ94o7vCZNM
On MK kernel

Hai OP can u support kali nethunter on oreo kernel.
Kali nethunter lg g5 only available on kernel naugat.
Thanks......

The second attempt with Beta2 and now the phone does not restart itself. I'm confused...
Unfortunately, the sound still does not sounds like it should.
But something is wrong with deep sleep. The phone goes into deep sleep, but after a long time of inactivity eg. At night. In the day when every now and then the phone is used then I do not want to go deep sleep. On the LOS kernel it works better.

Smooth on H830 Lineage 16-0806
Just installed after disabling adb. First impression --- Very much faster and smoother with no difference in stability or temperature vs. stock lineage 16 kernel. Thanks for the kernel. I look forward to the stable, adb-ok, version when available.

Do you think you can fix the low volume issue in calls and games with this kernel? much thanks for your work

support f2fs? I Want it

Sorry for the impatience, but I would like to know if you are working on a new version? On your kernel the phone works much smoother but unfortunately at least my phone has a problem with switching to Depp sleep. Just a disk problem, but this is a minor issue.

Pefrormance issues

My nexus 5 is having lag issues with almost any rom/kernel . I flash rom and phone works good for about 2 days than pefrormance drop drasticly . (My setup is very light and I m sure that it is not problem).
After some time I see lag in chrome , yt etc.
Any way to fix it ?
What ROMs and kernels have you tried? Are you using some heavy apps like Facebook?

Hmm, that's kinda odd. If you can, do a factory wipe again (maybe even wipe internal storage, after doing a backup of course) and install latest Krexus ROM https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591000424960774 with latest blu_spark kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=20068 And latest open gapps (pico or nano). Also, don't install Facebook app, really (you can use Facebook Messenger). You can add a Facebook page to the homescreen using Chrome.
If it will start laging again, check memory usage under developer settings - maybe some app eats too much RAM.
Feel free to test my build.prop tweaks from my signature. They are 100% stable for me. After applying these tweaks, remember to wipe cache and ART in TWRP.
Thanks for the help , I will try that

[KERNEL] LineageOS kernel with f2fs and SafetyNet patches.

I compiled the LineageOS kernel for the Moto Z Play and applied the SafetyNet patch by sultanxda and f2fs patches from this thread.
Use case for this kernel:
- If you want to use LineageOS, but have an unlocked bootloader, the SafetyNet is tripped which disables features such as Android Pay.
- This kernel is only for LineageOS based builds!!!! For stock based roms use this one.
- All bugs in official LineageOS kernel will be on this kernel.
- This will not prevent SafetyNet from tripping for other reasons, like rooting without Magisk Hide.

Great ...thanks
I'm assuming we install it in TWRP since it's a zip file. Will try it now.
Confirmed it's working on latest Los
Also work on latest DarkNess Redefined rom, Magisk ok, safety net ok, magisk hide ok ?
Also no problem with core frequency with magisk hide on.

hello great working in Darknes redefined very very thanks
regards
Safety net pass for resurrection Remix 5.8.3 on with magisk v12.zip but not with official lineage add on to root.
Anyways, with magisk I can't get it to hide root for my apps that checks for root, I tried with core functions as well and nothing.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I build it on my own from source and all is working fine. I can upload it later when i´m at home.
it just worked on my MZP with ViperOS
@Rick Roll when you applied the f2fs fixes, did you update f2fs entirely to lastest stable or do you do the small edits in the .c files? I see LOS kernel source has made the same .c edits made by Motorola in stock source but magisk still doesn't mount right, so maybe you upstreamed the kernel to f2fs 4.10+?
I served in the rom ViperOS 3.0. Thank you!.
Hi,
I know its nasty to ask, but:
A recent version of this kernel from one of the latest lineage nightlys would be great.
Thanks!

C.
I have flashed this kernel and SafetyNet passed on 21/08/2017 LOS14.1 nightly with fresh gapps. That's great. Update, for what? Any important like security patches? It's not the same version today (3.18.48)?
@Rick Roll could you please up to date this kernel with latest patches from LOS?

Hey, How to install I would be glad if you explain. Do I need to flash directly?
after flashing 75hz fod not working,i also tried remove fod then flashed this kernel, then when i went to add fod, thrn setting keeps crashesh.
Flashed directly to 11.0.3.0 Global w/ Immensity Kernel but stuck on Mi logo. Wiped Dalvik & Cache but still the same.
Edit: Solved the issue by flashing stock kernel first then Candy Kernel. No issues now.

When you are playing with custom kernel :
Always make a backup of boot and dtbo!
Wipe cache and dalvik is for a clean install.
You may need to format, reinstall your rom, and make a backup of boot an dtbo and play again!

Thanks for the nice Kernel. Woks so far but I got randomly some screen freeze for like 5-10 seconds. Anti flicker is of and I'm on MIUI.eu rom 20.8.6.
I took a logcat only displaying the errors. Seems like every time I touch the screen there popping some errors up. Hope it helps.
Tried it a few days ago, it's perfectly stable and really battery efficient combined with the latest xiaomi.eu stable rom.
Thanks a lot for this!
Working nice on MIUI 11.
