I wanted to buy a One Plus 6, to install a custom Roma, but I had several questions:
If for example I have an old phone, and I install a custom rom recent, it will upgrade the kernel?
Do you install non-official custom ROMs?
Do you install Gapps? (If I just want to play store I can get the apk play store, or there are frameworks?)

I am trying to follow instructions I found on a German website for flashing my GT i 9001. In these instructions, reference was made to this forum, telling me to download the kernel for GT i 9001 build GINGERBREAD.XXKQM but I am utterly lost. Hello, thank you for your help, but I've come to the conclusion that I had better give up. The link to the kernel given in the second link below does not work (hotfile --> mpaa.org), and I am also unable to find some files referenced in the instructions I mentioned in my first post, which are from 2012 or so. So I am afraid that I might trash my smartphone rather than flash it. Best wishes, Arnim

Theres some techy words i cant understand, so i cant follow some steps...
"3) Unsquashfs the system.sfs file. Look in the resulting squashfs_root folder to find the system.img file there.
4) Use a free ext4 partition or create one. (Any size.)"
I alredy downloaded the iso file.

Hello, does this method work on windows 10 ?
Need a little help with rooting moto g5 splus . I've already updated it to android oreo and was searching xda for its root but found only methods that have been used on g5 splus with nougat version and i'm a bit skeptical if it will work in oreo too .
I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff so please help if possible
