Hello!! recently viewed the samsung galaxy s6 presentation.......and saw the new features (not much to see actually...)
Well, so i decided to start a new proyect to "clone" the s6 edge border color notification when calling (next versions will include the contacts feature too).
This first version is the very first one, just a color for incoming calls...next version contact color will be available.

What format has this file?
Is this a apk or a zip?
I only can download a zip file.
When i want to install it with CWM Recovery it always comes the message that the installation was aborted.
And is this the original feature from the S6 Edge or a selfmade feature?

It is apk file....it is not a port is a self made app...still not very cool and not full of s6 edge features but more will come...its a first release to develop it with people needs and sugestions

What about battery consumption? Is it light?

i think it will be the definitive animation...so i can now work on the "choose color for contact feature" and "app notification color"

It only starts and show when incoming call is ringing....the rest of the time it is stopped so it doesnt consume battery or memory

[MODS] Remove Carrier Labels and Precise Animation Scales

I recently read about the use of RRO theming for the s8, so I took some practice and made these.
I have 2 mods.
1. Hiding Carrier Labels System-Wide
This mod basically hides the carrier label (AT&T, Verizon, etc...) from the status bar on the lockscreen and in the notification center (bottom).
You can see in both attached photos there is no carrier in the top left status bar and bottom of notification center.

2. More Precise Animation Scales In Developer Settings

I'll see if I can add multilangusge support soon. So far It only supports English.

I downloaded both APK's and it doesn't show up on my S8. Am I doing something wrong or is it because I am on the latest update?

You have to reboot your phone. I had the same problem and that's all it took was for me to reboot my phone and then it worked fine.

There won't be an OTA for this. It's a Developer Preview targeted at app creators that might want to adapt or test new features, and not intended for daily driver use. Critical features (like functioning as a phone) might be fundamentally broken or buggy, and by downloading it you're opting out of the normal customer service and warranty channels (instead of troubleshooting or device repair, you'll be directed to submit a beta feedback report), so they aren't going to make it easy for end-users to load it up.

there's an OTA download option but that's it

Huh...SMS over IP, video calls, and VoLTE not working....OUCH! Sounds like they tanked the SIP stack, so no thanks to this preview!

Need some help...
After I flashed it, seems to be sitting/stuck on the Essential logo with the "powered by android" text at the bottom for a while. I flashed it with the .bat file provided.

WAY too many critical issues to even consider using this... It will basically make your phone barely usable...

Absolutely the same here

Mine booted fine but Wifi is broken. It doesn't see any networks. I've rebooted a couple of times just to be sure. Another report of the same issue here:

i had to go into stock recovery and factory reset as well as flash to both slots in order to be able to boot. I was on custom firmware beforehand though.

Seems great so far. I'll try to find something to record on if I can. It's very smooth and no noticeable bugs for me, other than what was mentioned above about needing to sort out wifi

Succes after installing via Ota file. Wifi works for me, but 3rd party launchers doesn't work well... Trying to make the official Pixel launcher from P beta to work, but keeps crashing, which is interesting.

Guys, is this Preview 1 or Preview 2 version? Google released Preview 2 for Pixels, but zip file name suggests it's still Preview 1 for essential - PPR1.180412.048 , date also suggests that it's pretty old, 04 April 2018.

[TIP] Use fingerprint sensor as Navigation method

Hello everyone!
This is my first post on XDA
I found this on international variant of N7 Plus.
I'd like to share you a thing that I have found in settings menu. It's hidden and it's easy to dig it out :highfive:
Follow this steps:
1. Open settings app
2. Tap search
3. Type "navigation" or "fingerprint"
4. Tap Navigation Key of Fingerprint and Voila! Done!!
Let me know what you think. I found this thing randomly. Sorry if it is posted in wrong sub.

Now, is there an option to hide on screen navigation buttons?

Strange! I don't even have it !

Don't have these option on the TA-1055 in Australia. Only have the fingerprint swipe for notifications

Same for me! Nokia removed this feature with the May Security Update!

Also I spoke to Nokia about the lack of "homescreen auto add icon" option in their launcher and they said it would be passed to the development team to "consider" lol

I was really hoping we could hide the on screen navigation buttons!

Right now y'all guys can try the XDA's navigation gestures app. It's pretty decent app and nice replacement

Yeah I tried it out, it's pretty nice, tho it's a little obsolete on this device, given that we can't hide the nav bar (at least, not that I'm aware of?)

New LG Home APK, Camera and more

7.20.56 is available on APK mirror. I wanted to give it a shot to see if there are any improvements and surprisingly it seems much smoother compared to previous versions and the best part is that it's compatible with Quick-Step so all gestures work correctly. You get a dark Google feed and it doesn't seem to be as slow and glitchy as it has been in the past. Also an update to the camera app is available as well that comes with a few new tricks as well! Does anyone know what phone these are pulled from?

Yep, once the app is "upgraded" (becomes a version other than the stock one (usually the one provided most recently through software updates from LG), a small menu becomes available in the app settings (ie App Info > Camera). This menu allows you to uninstall updates to the application and revert to stock.
I just uninstalled the latest camera update (the one listed here) since it didn't really change picture quality and has an icon for "Show new features" that crashes the app. I did update "Home" though and it feels a little better.

Weird, I don't have that icon. The Manual focus seems to be improved, and if you swipe and hold the shutter button left/right, or pinch the screen with a gesture it switches between wide and normal lenses. I don't remember if the previous version worked like that. I feel like AI mode works much smoother, and portrait mode with it's blur adjustment function is improved, but it could just be in my head.

You have to be rooted on Pie and have the Quickstep Magisk Module installed. Using a launcher other than the LG Home launcher, open the Quickswitch app and select LG Home as your recents provider. The module will run a script and reboot your phone. Once your phone restarts, then set LG home as your default launcher.

camera is worse and for sure is from another device

It's definitely for a different device, but I've had nothing but good results.

I've downloaded both & Home launcher works fine but the camera is not supported completely, Night mode doesn't work, Camera is Slightly good but I found buggy were I a line on pic. so better stay on original version and wait for Android 10 update.​

The LG Bridge suite, the program to backup via pc. Ucant backup or restore if have this istalled, the program detects an alteration. This is my experience.
