The article linked in OP states:
But if something does go wrong, you can always perform a factory reset to bring things back to the way they were. Which is something else you should know – these uninstalled system applications can/will come back after a factory reset.
This is a good thing, however, as it means that these applications truly aren’t being uninstalled from the device, they are just being uninstalled for the current user (user 0 is the default/main user of the phone). That’s why, if you omit the “–user 0” and “-k” part of the command, the command won’t work. These two commands respectively specify that the system app will only be uninstalled for the current user (and not all users, which is something that requires root access) and that the cache/data of the system application will be preserved (which can’t be removed without root access). Therefore, even if you “uninstall” a system application using this method, you can still receive official OTA updates from your carrier or OEM.

Is this different from disabling the service or app with the use of a package disabler?

Knox trip from non signed bootloader code is a different Knox.
Sampwnd does not trip Knox at all

From my understanding of the pm command, there is unfortunately no counterpart to the uninstall command. So a factory reset is the only possible way to bring back the app. For me this is a good argument to use something like AdHell instead, as I can easily revert any modification.
But if you know exactly what to remove, this is a clean way. No additional apps involved

Yes, I think. I tried uninstall GMail using adb and then installing it thru the play store. It still functions as a system app though because if you still cannot uninstall it by just holding the icon and clicking uninstall.
Is anyone else here using AccuBattery?
If you haven't debloated yet, could you let us know your screen off drain % rate? I didn't measure before debloating, so I don't know if debloating actually did anything, but my phone is now only draining 2% after almost 10hrs of screen off.

I heard Adhell can cause some instability, random reboots, sometimes bootloop. Check the S8 channel on reddit.

There are still issues with note 8, however not with S8(+) I'm aware of. I just wanted to point out that re-enabling of an app would be possible that way.

The goal is to push the uninstalllist.txt file to your device. I pushed the file to a temp directory which I created.
FIRST, let's open adb shell and create a temp directory. The file system is Read-only, so the temp directory will need to be created in the sdcard directory.
C:\Users\me\Desktop\platform-tools-latest-windows\platform-tools>adb shell
:/ $ cd sdcard/
:/sdcard $mkdir temp
:/sdcard $ ls (this will list and you will see the 'temp' directory you just created)
:/sdcard $ exit (this is to exit the adb shell and go back to command prompt)
NEXT, push the 'uninstalllist.txt' file you created to the device. Be sure you are in the correct directory where 'adb.exe' AND 'uninstalllist.txt' files are located.
C:\Users\me\Desktop\platform-tools-latest-windows\platform-tools>adb push uninstalllist.txt /sdcard/temp
OUTPUT FROM COMMAND:
uninstalllist.txt: 1 file pushed. 0.2 MB/s (1288 bytes in 0.007s)
So far so good. Open the adb shell again and navigate to the temp directory. 'cat' stands for concatenate or in other words cat <filename> will print the contents of the file to your screen.

:/ $ cd /sdcard/temp/
:/sdcard/temp/ $ cat uninstalllist.txt (just to verify the contents of the file)

This command passes the contents of the file 'uninstalllist.txt' to the command 'uninstall -k --user 0 " one line at a time. You will see progress on the screen. Good luck.

Note: I have removed many apps from Google and OnePlus which can be installed from the PlayStore or the apk can be found on apkmirror. Also this is a totally reversible method of debloating as it just uninstalls the apps for current user profile.

I lose one battery per 0.3 / hour all night. I was getting 3 hours sot in stock rum and I had about 1% / hour of battery loss overnight. now I can get 2 hours of screen time with 70% charge.
especially the pocket mode was making terrible battery consumption for me.

I have dozens of apps running, nothing freezed as you propose and I lose a 0.7%/hour of battery at standby.

Okay, not really sure what the issue is, but I am unable to download apps from the Google Play Store now. I simply copy-pasted the "uninstalling" list into ADB, and now I can't download any apps from the Google Play Store.

These settings are for Oxygen os only. It does not work in custom roms (lineage or aosp based).

I haven't done this in a long time (write a guide). This is the first Xiaomi phone I have and MIUI is a maze I got my phone 2 days ago and all I wanted to do was get it bootloader unlocked. I have to wait 7 days so this is the next best thing and I am now contemplating of even needing to get the bootloader unlocked.
Ok I won't go into setting up ADB I will assume you have that if you don't I suggest Minimal ADB and Fastboot. (Yes it is old but it works.)

You will have some apps failed that's ok you can uninstall them by selecting them (The chinese ones)
Finish removing the apps you want to remove and then Restart.
I am still looking for a way to remove GetApps (com.xiaomi.market). If you remove this the system will not boot.
After I did that I had an empty spot on the left you have to long press on the wallpaper to get the setting menu -> More -> Disable App vault
While your there do Home Screen -> With App Drawer - Now if you swipe up it won't complain searchbox not installed.
Another thing I liked to do is Settings -> Display -> Notch and Status Bar -> Notification shade shortcut -> Set it to Settings. This will give you a Settings Gear icon when you pull down for notifications.
Now go into APK Pure and download Google Play Store so you can get google and setup the phone as you like. you will have to restart the phone or it won't let you log in. Once you log in it won't show your purchased apps as purchased just try to buy any app you own and it will do some figuring out and say you already own this. Now restart again and it will recognise everything as it's supposed to.
I am looking for a good theme that makes all the icons round. Right now all my icons from play store are a square.

Hey Iron, thanks for this man really helped debloat my Mi 10 too! Not sure if this helps much, but I was also looking for some round stock android/ pixel esque icons and I found the following themes on the mi theme app that fit the bill. I keep switching between these ones too -
1) Pie
2) AOSP Pie
3) Pie Dark
4) POP Dark (Best flat)
5) Dark
6) Android Q (Best 3D)
7) Pixel (Best popout)
8) ARROW (Best with shadows)
9) Google Pixel & Google Pixel 2 (By the same guy)
10) Pixel Q
All of these have round icons with different aesthetics and also force new apps to the round shape as well. You can choose to just apply the ion pack from themes you download as well, so you can mix and match, because some of these give you the pixel status bar and nav bar etc if you still use the nav bar that is lol.....

One good thing though, is that Google play store can be easily installed over getApps, is the first result and is shown as an "update". By default, my cmi had installed google contacts sync, which helped right away. After that, the only thing missing is google calendar sync, but there are many tutorials on XDA that show how to install it.

I'm using the China Stable ROM and it won't let me make any non Xiaomi launchers the default home screen. Is this doable via some settings option that I'm missing or are you running xiaomi.eu or something?

on developer options, go to the end and disable "notify about high-risk features", then go to apps, manage apps,three dots on the upper right, default apps, and launcher.

Just don't remove it -- I heard that it will turn cause a bootloop.
Another app to not remove is com.android.updater -- this will cause a bootloop if there is an unclean shutdown.
Btw if you disable com.miui.newhome, then on my phone (Redmi K20 Pro), swipe up on home screen triggers the Google search app.

I have this phone for few days, so I'm creating this topic as stub for further expansion.
Root:
Follow Magisk general instructions. Boot image from BV9200_EEA-G680-V1.0_20230206V16 ROM is available here (MD5 sum
451c65120b41b40841e7902211db9f7f). If you do not trust my source you can ask BlackView support directly for full ROM link, they are super rooting friendly and usually responds within one day. Kudos to them.
Known issues:
Sound is cut off while using phone. This happens on stock phone app and you need to disable sound enhancement in settings. Or install alternative phone app like ACR Phone.
Sound while playing videos or music sounds weird / oversteered. Just uninstall Harman booster app (see debloating).
No phonecalls recording. This is crucial for some people, unfortunatelly Google decides to make "we know better, you cannot do it, we own your phone because you are too stupid to make your own decisions" move. This is not this phone issue but general Android 12 issue as explained by ACR guys. I had no luck with using ACR Helper. The only solution is to root phone and install Magisk version of ACR helper.
Missing settings. This phone does not use AOSP Android 12 version, and some settings are missing (or lagging behind Android 12 stock implementation). Luckily those are purely cosmetic in most cases.
To disable widget accents following wallpaper color palette use Repainter and disable accents. I don't know ADB command it does under the hood.
There is no setting to disable awful dual line clock on lock screen. Just keep one constant notification present, that will automatically shrink clock to single line. If you know ABD cmd setting responsible for this please let me know.
Debloating over ADB (without root):
I want to emphasize that this is my debloating, it may not suit your needs. For example I use printing from phone so I left print spooler, but I do not use Google Assistant. YMMV. Do not copy-paste it blindly.

I found very little on those apps. Looks like some kind of producer provisioning. Removing them does not affect phone working. Like you can still do factory reset or calibrate sensors.

After debloating and installing Nova launcher free memory after startup increased from 2.4 to 3.7GB. Average CPU usage dropped by 75% (Google Assistant was real resource hog here and surprisingly com.mediatek.voiceunlock service was second). I do not have exact battery graphs before and after debloating, but battery life is great, drops less that 20% per day on medium usage.
