Updated to July patch, and it added a dedicated night mode to the camera, so I just went out and took some pics to test it.
First pic is in standard photo mode; second is in pro mode (auto settings), and the last is the actual night mode pic.
You tell me...
Notice that pro mode jpeg file is actually half the size of standard mode file, and night mode is also smaller than standard mode file.

Not what night mode was intended for really. More of if you're in a room and it's not very well lit, it will soak up the light in the room with the exposure and make it a better picture than if u used flash, alegedly.

Using October patch and Exynos version, here are some examples from me:

Phone was not stabilized on tripod, but rather in my shaky hands.
Here is also one comparison from me. What I discover so far, and this is not a single case, Night mode only make the things worst.

Amazing! Very useful for putting a shelf alone. :good:

Level is wonderful, but compass points wrong direction sometimes.
Is there any way to improve the accuracy?
Press [Accuracy] image on left-top of the screen.
You can see the guide to improve accuracy.

Hey folks
Anyone else having some black dots/ink spots on their brand new Galaxy S7? I recognize this issue while watching movies on my phone at night...
This problem already exist on older AMOLED Display like the S3(old XDA thread-> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/galaxy-s3-black-ink-spots-help-t1715936/page4)
, but was solved after this generation. Sadly they seem to be back now!
Can you plz test your device and giving some feedback, if i just got bad luck or is it a common issue again.
Use following setup to test it:
- use the uploaded "grey" pic or any super dark/grey picture
- be in a dark room. you cant check it at daylight
- set display brightness to manual and get set it to minimum brightness
I'll also will upload a picture to show you how it looks on my phone. But be aware that this dot is arranged with paint, since none of my cams can capture this issue. Anyway position and size are correct.

Good day Sirs
I would just like to ask if there are any of you guys that has encountered this issue/bug on s8+'s back camera using Pro mode and high shutter speed settings (as you move the shutter speed to high)
the issue usually presents itself when I go to Pro mode and use high shutter speed settings which is 1/500 and up and usually indoors
got to test this on two demo units and only 1 also has this
could you any of you guys post your images with the said settings or if you guys had it replicated...
the issue/bug is already right there at the preview screen
so what you see on my images is also what i see on my screen... the only difference is the dark lines are moving sideways on the preview screen
please help me on this Sirs
will bring my unit at the service center this weekend
btw, I have the S8+ exynos version
here are the shots

Images are not apparently showing as image upload sites are being blocked in my office will update tjis tgread as soon as I got home
I shot the same image in PRO MODE and IMAGE MODE for the people that wants to see a comparison between the two mode.
In IMAGE MODE I did only sharpening (the halos are exacerbated in the sharpening but are present in the original shot), in PRO MODE I did a full retouch in Photoshop using a single DNG.
Is clear that this smartphones are miles a way compared with my Canon M50 where the Canon's pictures are fantastic, the difference is huge specially in colors and dynamic range.
Comparing my S21+ with my old S10+ there is a big improvement in image mode, still you get oversharpening everywhere and detail lost compared with the pro mode single DNG.
PRO mode has better color rendition compared with IMAGE mode.
The 64MB mode has horrendous color rendition, I hope they can do something about it because its colors are horrible, avoid that mode as much as possible.
Colors in any smartphone camera are off.

somehow came back on the P7P, even though there is a totally different one made for the 7. I've viewed online and saw that this slider had shown a common showing theme for the devices(series).
also there are no .5x, 1x, 2x, 5x buttons.
The slider also doesn't work, if you touch it it'll reset the zoom level to 1x, and at portrait mode instead of resetting to 1x it resets to 0.7x(basically removing the zoom that portrait mode adds)
Resetting, Reinstalling, Safe-mode, Factory reset(just comes back after a day) did not help.
Anything to throw at this problem? And to also get back the 0.5x 1x 2x 5x buttons? they're really useful.
