Any apps do an identical phone backup? - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Can't find an answer to this but does Oneplus Switch do an identical phone backup? If not is there any other app that does?

Root it and use TWRP recovery to have a full device backup. As to backing up your apps and their data, Titanium as previously mentioned it the correct answer....still requires root.

Switch does about 90-95% backup. You will still need to log into accounts and stuff. Some apps dont copy over for whatever reason. I even tried OP7 pro to OP7 pro with same results. Also all your settings will be stock settings. Yes use Titanium backup and or TWRP

Cheers for the replies. It's kinda crap that oneplus switch doesn't save phone & app settings etc. It should make an identical copy.
I have rooted before & backed up with TWRP but I don't know if your all aware that restoring from TWRP not only doesn't work it actually messes your phone up! I got stuck in a fastboot bootloop & had no option to restore the phone using msm on the pc

Switched from titanium to swift backup recently, works much better, full backups nightly kick off automatically.

[Q] "FULL" system backup and restore for android?

Is there a good solution yet for this for android?
this is the "ONLY" thing I miss from my Touch Pro 2 windows mobile phone.
I get all my software installed all my tweaks settings the way I want them cookies home tab widgets etc.. etc..
I make my image.
when the phone get wonky I zap it factory reset and once I am booted up 2-3 minutes later I restore my backup and its like nothing every happened. EVERYTHING is restored without exception.
How do I do this with android?
android is FAR more stable but now I have a pretty nasty problem with dogg catcher and its looking like the only way to fix it will be a reset and I am highly reluctant to spend the literally hours and hours and hours its going to take to do that.
THEIR HAS to be a viable solution to this nightmare. a way to backup "EVERYTHING" and I mean EVERYTHING without exception.
I am using a galaxy SII (sprint variety) and I am rooted running Calukins 2.8 rom.
suggestions?
You Have CWM or Xrecovery, becouse with this you can make a full back Up, Or tried With Titanium Back Up regards.
what do you mean by full backup? yes I have recovery mode how do I use it? I am going to tr logging into that and see if maybe its obvious.
Yup, boot into clockworkmod, however u do it on your phone, go to backups and restore > backup, once u have configured everything. If something goes wrong, simply use cwm, format system and data under mounta and storage, and restore your backup and away u go. This in combination with an app called titanium are golden

I mean. Whit xrecovery o CWM you can Back Upp All The things that you'r Phone Have,
With xrecovery Go to:
-->Back Up And Restore Then Select Backup And When you Want to Restore this Backup just select Restore.
Is The Same Process For CWM

[Q] Restore backup option in Setup

I did some searching, but I cannot find an answer. After installing a new ROM, during the phone setup there is an option to restore a backup of the phone. I am trying to figure out what backup this is. I have the backups set up in options and I have tried the htc backup, but during setup, the newest option is about 30 days old. I have backed up my phone much sooner than that. Just wondered what the backup is that setup is referring to.

If you are using a custom recovery then that restore backup is referring to Nandroid backup.
Which is done through the recovery itself

Backup app data with Samsung Smart Switch?

Good day.
Yesterday it has been available in this forum the beta nougat rom and i am eager to flash it in my phone :fingers-crossed:
My phone is not rooted and i wanted to backup the app data before flashing.
After extensive search in google i found that Samsung Smart Switch can be used to backup app data without root.
Has anyone successfully backed up and restored app data with it, after a full wipe?
Thank you.
Hi! I used it and worked fine for 90% of all my stuff. Only some settings like system sound and a few apps werent correctly restored
Inviato dal mio SM-G930F utilizzando Tapatalk
Dafuq? I used it to backup everything and after a wipe I restored but then had to set up each one of my apps from scratch! They have been installed by Smart Switch, but all were in initial state...
The only 'true' backup and restore is TWRP Nandroid backup
Others don't work properly in my experience
KIES was the worst

It can't f*ing be that there's no solution for a complete app-data backup without root
Even that piece-of-crap software called itunes backs up everything, as far as I remember.
Knox knocks me off.
This is the first phone that i want, but can't root. (As i already screwed up and had to send it to Samsung once). I Miss good old Titanium backup and TWRP.
It seems that is possible to flash Nougat beta without losing data.
Thank you everyone for your replies!

I need help with restoring a backup I made with the Oneplus Switch app

So before I decided to get back into custom ROMs I made sure to backup my phone using the oneplus switch in the settings. I was running the stock OS at the time. I moved the backup folder to my pc and proceeded to root, twrp, and installing Bliss. I probably should have done my research but it seems the switch app now does not recognize the device as one that can actually restore from a local backup. Only the "start" button is available. So it seems the app is under the assumption that the device is not a Oneplus at all. So is there any way at all to restore that backup or will I have to revert back to stock just to restore the backup, then back it up in like twrp or titan or migrate? I have not been in the scene for a while so please forgive me for the noobish question.

Stops receiving or making calls

Having weird issues with a Pixel 3 were it will stop making or receiving calls. I can clear the cache and reboot and that often works but I am unsure how many calls I may have missed. Text still works the entire time. I am on the latest Android 11 build with an unlocked bootloader and magisk installed just the restore data with Titanium Backup from previous phone. Not a fan of all the stupidness that got changed/added with Android 12. Willing to try custom roms if that is the right direction. Any thoughts?

If you restored data from Titanium Backup, that may be your problem. Titanium Backup has not been updated for two years, and does not work well with newer versions of Android. The restore part caused the most problems. TB has pretty much been abandoned.

Thanks for the response. I noticed it had not been restoring apps for a while so I just resorted to restoring mostly game data with it. Wondering if I use Easy Backup & Restore to save my data then wipe and reinstall OS and apps then restore data if that would fix it.

It is certainly worth trying. I don't know anything about Easy Backup - I use Swift Backup, and have successfully restored data from one phone to another using it. It might depend on what Android version was on your old phone, though. I recall reading somewhere that restoring data from different Android versions could cause problems.

Finally got around to trying this after replacing the loud speaker on another Pixel 3. Seemed to work well. We will see if this solves the call problems.
