Hey guys,
Just a quick question just noticed on Lineage OS download page that the Nvidia Shield Tablet is not supported anymore? Anyone has heard any news about this? Searched around google but have not found anything Its funny i have a build of lineage os still on my system wondering if its worth installing it.
Update: I checked the Lineage thread yeah it looks like they stopped supporting it hopefully with more people on board support will be open again. Anyways for those who are looking for the final build for the April update which was the last updated before support was pulled i added the link to where to download. Have fun!!

I thought they just started officially supporting it again recently. Guess it didn't last very long.
I wish Nvidia would release a new Shield Tablet. By far the best Android device I've ever owned.
A pretty bad memory leak was found in the 15.1+ builds. Until a fix for that is made, there won't be any more official releases. Fwiw, not everyone is affected badly by it. But when I have to reboot every couple days just using a browser, a couple chat clients, and an ssh client? Yeah, I'm not going to call that stable and sign off on a release. But I haven't stopped work, no. And don't plan to either.
looking fwd to the next build!

Just wondering if the SlimLP 5.1 development of the Nexus 5 rom is still going on?
All appears quiet in the main forum and am just looking for an update.

I'm not saying I know anything.
But I do know what I see...
That being a Lack of any NEW or UPDATED rom in quite some time. I believe it was posted in early December that weeklies and officials were coming soon. It's now almost the middle of April.
FYI, its been a week since your post...still nothing new.
I'll be one of the first to congratulate you and your team when a new official build comes out. Your product is good, I like it a lot, it's just the continued excuses and delays that make the whole thing look bad.
Unfortunately the issues with the N5 version of SlimLP persist.
For those looking for a very comparable, updated ROM, check out the ROM team Chroma has under development in the XDA N5 development page.
I'm a little confused by the range of options available for the Photon Q. Of course, CM12 is still in development, but does CM11 have a stable build at this point? What are people's experiences with it, and do they recommend updating from stock?
I'm mainly thinking about it because I'm starting - very slowly - to stumble across app compatibility issues, and I want to hold off updating my phone for at least another year. Kind of holding hope that Blackberry will finally release an Android phone.

CM11 has EOL'd. Final official release 6-26 (obviously the jbbl version for the QHD). Newer builds with stagefright patches have been released (see MCP1's builds over in RHD).
CM12 has also EoL'd.
CM12.1 is still in development.
CM13 (Android M/6.0/Marshmallow) has not started yet.

All 2nd hand sites I have tried are not working. I don't understand why I have not seen more people talking about this. A lot of older devices still run good on cyanogen

You can't. Servers down unless someone downloaded before it happened.
update for CyanogenMod findings
I downloaded the whole snapshot and nightly collection from archive.org
I believe CyanogenMod turned into lineageOS. You should try to go to their page and search there if your device is supported
Hey, I can answer this one, because I just figured it out myself - I arrived here looking for help with an old version of CM I decided to try installing on an old phone. The first issue, as you mentioned, is, where can you get old versions of CM since the shutdown... and yes, someone on reddit did mirror at least a large chunk of the whole site. That person is a hero. I can't link you to it because I'm a new user here, but you can find it easily enough - I just googled reddit cyanogenmod mirrors, and it was the first hit.

I think LineageOS official is near.... I've found interesting information about polaris
https://review.lineageos.org/#/q/topic:polaris-bringup+(status:open+OR+status:merged)
can't wait
Still early stages, not even buildable yet
Going to bring an old thread back to life. Especially with Lineage 16.0 on its way out, do we have anyone attempting to build for this phone?
I'm not sure I've ever owned a phone with this little developer support.
15.1 device tree wont be finished , we have jumped straight to 16.0.

Official support for Lineage hasn't been updated since July. I wouldn't hold your breath.
Yeah last update was August on 16.0

No, its not official. Its a treble system image. You can probably download a more updated version at the Treble-enabled device development forum.
This thread seems to be a collection of random guesses. Is there any actual source of information on the status of an official build for the Mix 2s? Surely if someone were working on it, they would post something somewhere... Not trying at all to be demanding or complain, but I would like to know if there is a reasonable chance of a release at some point.
I have until Oct. 15 to return this device. It's an outstanding phone with a PoS operating system. Without going into a big rant about miui 10, I don't want to own a phone where text messages are unreliable using anything but xiaomi's crappy (and likely invasive) messaging app.

I broke my cardinal rule with this handset: never buy hardware based upon the promise of future software updates because they may not ever happen.
I think if it was being worked on we would have heard by now. Devs just seem disinterested in the device.

The one andyphone linked above has quite a few commits since Oct. 1 (today, even). Good sign?
Los 16.0 should come eventually. Seems like a very capable developer is working on our device right now!
There may not be any official announcement yet, but you can easily see that work to bring up LineageOS for the Mix 2S is still underway here: https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_xiaomi_polaris.
The last commit to this Mix 2S-specific repository was a day ago.
Howdy all! I've dug out a couple old Nexus 5's that I stopped using a while back when I got PH-1 and am looking to reflash one of them for a friend who needs a phone and can't afford to buy new. When I was using them last I was running LineageOS 14.1. I'd like to set him up with something stable that he can use as a daily driver for a while and was looking for suggestions. It looks like a ton of ROMs have been updated and I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for a good current setup that will be easy on the battery and have the most features without compromising stability. Is there a commonly accepted "best" Nexus 5 build? I'm good at following directions, but a lot of the technical stuff is over my head, so trying to research everything I've missed for the last couple years is making my head spin lol. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Stable ROM for Nexus 5
Hey,
I have found AOKP to be really good for my Nexus 5. It has the stability of Lineage 14.1, but also has a few nice little additions: OMS support for Substratum, customisable navbar, a few tweaks here and there. And it is still being developed, and receives regular updates.
Not too heavy on the fancy stuff, so for me it's a nice tradeoff between "stock" AOSP/Lineage, and a few little enhancements.
Also the Nexus 5 is officially supported by the developers, which is important to me.
I've tried Android O and Android P ROMs on my Nexus 5, but I still find Nougat ROMs seem to run the best.
I also have a Nexus 7 (2013) tablet, and the ROM is also available for that as well. As I have OCD, I "need" both my phone and tablet to run the same system, and AOKP gives me this.
Just my suggestion, anyway. Give it a try, and see what you think.
Cheers
Shaun
Thanks! I will check it out
if you like simpler thing i would suggest LOS 14.1 even tho our hammerhead are not supported officially you can use unofficial build by razorloves here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80268653&postcount=3145 or another one here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80210774&postcount=3 they updated it once a month at least with security updates each months
also if you want tor try LOS 14.1 CAF you can try this https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80340013&postcount=753
I also have a Nexus 5 laying around that I mostly use as an extra device to test apps on. However, since my apps usually require working Bluetooth LE and other network related stuff, I have refrained from using Android Oreo and Pie based ROMs since I always read that there's some issues with this or that.
I have stayed with the latest Lineage OS 14.1 (Android 7.1.2) and it has worked pretty well. However, I have now decided to move to something a little bit fresher, but still based on Nougat. I went with the AOKP suggestion made by @shaunoleary since they are still releasing official builds. Unfortunately the AOKP's security patch level is still on February 2019.
If want something with a more up-to-date security patch level you can also try these LineageOS 14.1 builds: https://forum.xda-developers.com/go...opment/rom-cm14-1-nexus-5-hammerhead-t3510548 which are supposed to be on September 2019 security patch level.

Hey Peter - thanks for the nod
I acknowledge that AOKP's security patch level is a bit dated, but having used LineageOS for a long time, I found some of the features AOKP throws into Lineage, I'm willing to sacrifice that for the extra goodies AOKP offers.
I have decided to stick to Nougat for as long as I can. I tried Oreo and Pie, and had noting but trouble with Bluetooth. It's such a shame when they bring out such a solid, stable release of Android like Nougat, and then stop supporting it because it's not "the latest".
Just as an aside, I have recently been using MicroG (Nanodroid package) instead of GAPPS on my N5 (and my N7 2013 as well), and have found it to be very usable now. Google Pay does not work, but aside from that, I get much better battery life than using GAPPS. In fact, my location accuracy seems to be better, and I've got Play Store working a treat.
Hi there, I have the same problem, my N5 stayed on last security patches from the official rom in Feb 2019. Then Lineage ended official support. Did someone try to install the unofficial version (made by razerlove) over the last official build. Would that work? Any hints?
I've tried them all it seems, having acquired dozens of units a few years back .. Im serious, i think im absurdly qualified to make this recommendation.
Hundreds of ROMs/kernels/use cases.
Maybe something is fast and beautiful, until you install more than a few apps, and then it chokes. Maybe it works great with most carriers but not the one you have. My point is that nexuses that aren't working get reformatted and a winnowing occurs.
And gradually a winner emerged. I now have this on 90% of n5s.
If you must have android 9, I recommend floko, but my #1 n5 ROM is
crdroid 7.1.2 LOS caf
with opengapps
and truesight 4.4 caf kernel ,
although the one it installs is fine.

Oh, and I dont know if it fits without the UA repartition mod, but I can attest to it working since I've modified most units with the mod at this point.
