Is it possible to play youtube videos by streaming using mx player?
Using kodi with the youtube plugin and configuring MX as an external player, the youtube videos cn be launched directly in MX. But I´d like to do this with only the MX app, without needing kodi
Can this be done???
Thanks
Yes. I'd also like to play YT videos in mxplayer. Are you going to add this feature?

Unfortunately, MX Player doesn't playback of the webpages with embedded videos. However, we will explore the possibilities and make it possible in future if found viable. Meanwhile, stay with us and show your continued support to MX.

Hast du schon eine Lösung gefunden?
WinAmp
I'm not very sure if this will work but try WinAmp, you can use it for free from the Android Market, but because WinAmp is a computer media player then I guess it may be able to play it.
ANY1 any solution for this? I have exactly the same problem, apart from the receiver which is Kathrein instead of Dreambox. I found Mobo Player, which is supposed to play the stream, but it does not show any video nor audio, although showing time running, as if playing. Any developments on this matter?
thanks,

Hi.
I still haven't decided to buy this tablet yet. So I was wondering if the built in player displays subtitles embedded in mkvs, ass or similar files? I normally use moboplayer in order to play my soft-subbed videos on my cellphone since only a few players support this feature.
If this is not supported, is there another video player that supports this but also allows it be floating like the video player?
Thanks!

I believe that the default video player only accepts SRT subtitle file. MKV playback starts off a little bit slow but picks right up at normal speed after a few seconds.
In most of cases, it support srt. I had no problem on most movies, included mkv.
Try a app call BS player, its in the play store, I love it and it will search for the subtitles any movies you are watching..for you.

same here. Mx player definitive supports subtitles in my mkv files.
Sent from my GT-N8000 using XDA Premium HD app
Use DICE player . It supports all subtitles and floating screen , and if subtitles are not synced properly but you don't have choice , this player can slow down subtitles or accelerate them during play .
Hopefully someone can help me with this error I can't find a solution anywhere. I'm using xbmc on my transformer and it's set to use MX player to play most of the video on it. My only issue is that for all youtube videos mx Player keeps giving me "can't play this video" all other types of videos work fine. Is there a fix that I can apply that will allow mx player to play youtube streams? If not, is there a way I can set in the playercorefactory.xml to use the internal DVDplayer for only youtube streams and mx player for everything else? Is anyone else experiencing the same issue with MX player and youtube streams? Any help would be appreciated

I couldn't view any You Tube videos, so I sideloaded flash onto my transformer. This wasn't too successful, so then I downloaded the new YouTube app which is working fine.
As for your xbmc problem - I don't have the app, just know it is a multi media center/player.

Sorry, no. I was able to see video in the YouTube app whereas before I couldn't get any video to play in any browser. I know I had to sideload flash onto my TF101 - so whether it helped may also be a factor.
alright, so i find myself in same boat. Only thing is, I cant play Dailymotion videos which gives me same error using xbmc+mx player combo. have you found any solution?, I tried BS Player, Dice Player and making sure they were the external players by changing playercorefactory.xml file. but still no luck. I also tried switching decoder under mxplayer and all other players to only use hw decoder or sw decoder, but no luck.
Can we have Youtube videos with HW acceleration ?
The way I play some youtube videos with mx player, I have hardware acceleration.
What way do you use?
Oh, for me all youtube videos play in SW, and the HW mode gives me an error.
I thought MX player didnt play youtube videos with HW, so it must be my tablet that doesnt make it.
Youtube uses H.264 and VP9. H.264 can be h/w decoded on any device, and there's only few SoCs that can decode VP9 (not sure if there're even real devices with them).

Thanks for the reply, is there any way I can set youtube to use h264 only?
How are you playing youtube videos in MX player? If you're downloading there's usually choice (mp4/H.264 and webm/VP9).

do you just use the youtube url (youtube.com/watch?v=videoid)? i can't get MXP to play these links ... would be great if you can describe how you're setting it up
the only way I've been able to get MXP to load the urls is if I get the googlevideo url with signature
use tubemate ( m.tubemate.net ) to parse link and open from mx player. You can choose different quality of videos accordingly to your choise.
Its been quite a while actually, MX player just wont play any video from chrome now.
It used to prompt me and ask which player do i want to use back in the days, i always set MX player as default, now it just play within the browser which has tiny controls, very annoying to use.
How do i make MX player capture browser videos again? Or is chrome blocking it?

It's not MX Player's fault. most of the browsers now use mediaplayer api to play the video's in browser itself.
