Hi Gyus!
What is tye difference between asus zenfone 6 black color and midnight black color, and differences between 64gb and 128 apart from storage?
I think it is the same color "black / midnight black".
So far I know theres only three color versions announced, two generic ones - the "midnight black" and the "twilight silver" (two tone fade thing).
And that edition 30 special one..

No difference.

Went to look at some xoom tablets yesterday and found some screen color difference. The one on display at staples had weak color but the one at best buy had deeper and richer color. So why is this?
The xoom has two lcd panels, they both are
1. Sharp
2. AUO

This why I have never understood the complaints about the screen. I'm very happy to have a screen that has rich colors...not sure which type it is though. I think it's a bit variable even between the two types.
Also comes to preference. Some people prefer warm screens (more yellowish color). And some people prefer cool screens (more blueish color).

Speaking of which, I was at BestBuy and had a perfect chance to compare my Xoom screen/colors to both the Acer Iconia, and the Asus Transformer. First I tried Fruit Ninja HD on the Asus TF and my Xoom (it wasn't installed on the Acer) and the colors and saturation were identical, but the Xoom actually had slightly higher resolution! There was an area where the TF clearly showed "jaggies" but the Xoom showed no jaggies, and instead had more detail. I was really surprised because, if anything, I was prepared to see just the opposite...I thought that the Xoom would come up short.
Then I opened Angry Birds Rio on all three tabs. The first thing I noticed was that both the Acer and the Asus clearly leaned toward the blue end of the spectrum--the whites actually were very light blue, while the Xoom had a more balanced, slightly warmer color range, with the whites tending slightly more toward yellow.
It does come down to personal preference (I prefer balanced color), but what a surprise about the difference in resolutions.
Even though the xoom might have more balanced colors, humans are drawn to poppy colorful colors so people are going to say the 10.1/transformer have better screens.
That was the thing...unless those were bad example of those two tabs, the Xoom's colors popped just as much, and the quality of the Xoom's display was better than the Asus and as good as the Acer. But that was my Xoom...I can't speak for the Xooms on display which were not working because they had no power to their endcap.
I think what matters is which has the most accurate color as there should be color adjustment apps available for proper calibration. Just like a TV, showroom colors are always bad until you pay for professional calibration.

how can I know my lcd type?
Cant decide what color or do I want the Black 64
Stupid verizon decided we didnt want White 64
I'm coming from 128gb lol so idk what's going to happen. Just so tired of the black on my s6, wanted to switch it off to white
White looks kinda dull though. Maybe it was the lighting in the carrier stores.
From Samsung's website, they also show these available......Hmmm, interesting.....
SM-N920VZWEVZW - 64GB Verizon Pearl White
SM-N920VZWFVZW - 128GB Verizon Pearl White
2 x Black Sapphire 64 GB., arriving on 9/3/2015. Wife wanted and got as a surprise. Coming from a Note 3..
how much available space on a 64gb note 5
black 64GB.
Why?
1. I think the color is sexy
2. Makes it easier to see the backlight on the capacitive touch buttons.
3. Darker borders around the screen are less distracting than bright/white ones.
If you're colorblind, please disregard this thread. Rate this thread to express how you deem the color saturation and accuracy of the Huawei Nexus 6P's display. A higher rating indicates that you think that color accuracy is very high and saturation is excellent.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
dislike the orange color though...too high
Damn. I'm colorblind. I guess I'll disregard
The contrast is so high (when not in rgb mode) that it's almost unbearable to look at (for fussy people like me).
Unfortunately the rgb mode seems to dull things a bit too much...would be nice to have something in between.
Similar to the Nexus 6 I felt the display was too warm so I was very happy to install a kernel to make adjustments.

With the display set to sRGB mode (developer settings), images compare very closely to my calibrated laptop.
sRGB looks very accurate.
White is a bit warm/yellowish in comparison to another 6P.

I did a re install of the factory image and sRGB got checked during setting things back up on accident and I thought the factory image messed it up lol. Then I read this and turned it off. Much better.
By default it's too saturated, like the older Samsung AMOLEDs. sRGB is a bit too bland and blue but better.
Once I rooted and installed a custom kernel, I specifically reduced only saturation and now the panel is great.
I have a Nexus 4 as well.
In Nexus 4, the white is really white. But in Nexus 6P, the white is yellowish/pinkish(and it is really bothering me). Is it just my display or is it the case with everyone?
P.S. The black is really black though and the other colours seem to be fine.

My Nexus 6p at the yellow screen... it's really bad!
I just got my 6p - what is the general consensus on using sRGB mode mode? thanks

32GB silver vs 64GB white

I recently bought Nexus 6P. The color saturation was perfect initially. After I tried the color inversion once, the saturation has got high. I tried fixing it through SRGB but the saturation gets too low. Not able to find a middle ground. Please help. Thanks in advance.
the only downside
display is old amoled
bad screen
i had zte z11 max
it has better screen
Yeah the Amoled panel in this phone is not good at all. However it gets tolerable with a custom kernel and color adjustments. This isn't a color accurate screen in any way. My Honor 8 and XA Ultra has way better screens even though they are LCD.

With a custom kernel like ElementalX, and with the good adjustments you got one of the best screens.

I use ex kernel manager :
Red : 210
Green : 222
Blue : 256
Saturation : 42
Value : 136
Contrast : 134
Tint : 0
The hardware is better in the Chinese version more ram more storage and gets better benchmark however is the screen panel as good ? or have any one seen any difference between the global version compared side by side ? does it have the same modem ?
Regarding the screen on chinese version I am also wonder if there is any difference between the black borders around the screen which is for me very ugly.
Are they identical on both versions ?
mmm not sure about the storage @128GB version, but the L29 version is also available in 64GB/4GB... rest of the hardware being identical modem should be the same as well, considering its the kirin 950 SoC in both cases
screen dimensions are also exactly the same on both phones, so no difference concerning those "black bars". although i must say i barely notice them... might be more pronounced on a silvery white phone though
i think pretty much the only major difference between the different phone models lies in the software used and dual vs. single sim capability, thats it...
btw, extremely happy with the screen! super crisp, vivid colors, very bright i got the chinese AL10 model btw, although i dont think it makes any difference in this case ^^
For sure every individual phone panel may have different white balances let's say. It is a matter of manufacture process which is not in every panel the same 100%. So we may have the exact same phone L29 let's say and yours may be more bright than mine or even me having AL10 and you L29 and they could be exactly the same.
Yes right after mate 8 was released presented the new generation screens from jdi with 40 percentage more colors for instance...it ha happen before that hardware is different in sole countries so that is why I asked.
It looks on pictures the black bar around the screen is a lot better then on mate 7?
I don't find the black bar annoying but it's a matter of personal taste.
L29 is superb and I'm getting 94000 plus on antutu with 3gb ram, feels fantastic in the hand too

The screen is fantastic and it makes my iPhone 6S Plus screen look a little bad. It's the best LCD I've seen. The white is better, contrast is better and saturation is a little stronger all resulting in a more clear and living image. I have them both and have compared side by side. The Mate 8 screen is the better one.
So I checked out the S22 Ultra at Best Buy today. First impression was that it looks almost identical to the Note20 Ultra. Second was the added battery weight but gives it a premium feel. The display model was Burgundy which typically I’m not a fan of, but this was a deep rich color that shifted from dark purple to rose/bronze. The green S22+ Color looked much different in person, very dark but intense green, less teal or gray than shown online. The camera lenses protrude out more than was expected. This is basically a refined Note20 Ultra with better cameras, better screen, bigger battery and better chipset. It probably won’t be an earth shattering upgrade from recent devices, but a well rounded phone that does almost everything well.
No SD card slot*, inconvenient spen placement unless you're ambidextrous or left handed.
At some point, probably already, the increase in cam pixels will be a wash. Not enough area size in that form factor; signal noise vs sample size.
If you do get one make sure to get one with 12gb of ram. I'm skipping this release and likely fall's until Android and Samsung stop their epic ball dropping fest.
*do the math, a Sandisk 1tb V30 rates card goes for $149, a .5tb for $75. Fast enough for streaming HD. If it fails, no big deal... slam in another. It also reduces write cycle wear on the internal memory.
The higher internal memory variants will be in short supply as they always are...

Ive been watching reviews on it and most people seem pretty impressed by the camera. I'm glad that the burgundy is a rich color. I hope to be just as excited about it when I get it than the early reviewers have been.

My thoughts exactly. Played with it at Best Buy, pre ordered through Samsung.
