Custom ROM Support for Zenfone 6 - ASUS ZenFone 6 (2019) Questions & Answers

I know this would be a hard question to answer right now but how would be custom ROM development community for Asus Zenfone 6? I am thinking of buying this device and really want custom ROM supports as the default Asus UI is not what I want to be stuck with. Considering that Asus has released the kernal sources and also provided devices to developers for development, I hope that we would be able to see custom ROMs like Havoc, RR, Lineage or OxygenOS port.

You must have missed the news but it's looking likely it will as they supporting developers https://www.xda-developers.com/asus-zenfone-6-custom-rom-twrp-lineageos/

Possible future release of a custom ROM for Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime (SM-G532G/DS)?

I'm planning to buy this phone (SM-G532GZKDXTC), and as far as I'm aware, there are no custom roms available for this device.
So, will there any chance that this phone gets a custom ROM in the future? (Because if this phone cannot support custom ROMs (just like what happened with SM-T210, then I might not buy this, and go for the A-series instead)
Thanks

I've started working on porting lineageos 14.1 for the g532 (j2 prime)...

Paranoid Android for Umidigi

Hi guys,
Looking at how Umidigi is growing rapidly and with each new phone release, boundaries are bound to be pushed. The slew of smartphones released under Umidigi are all very promising. Therefore, I would like to see more custom ROM being made for it. Personally, I've been considering doing a Paranoid Android port for Umidigi phone. At this stage, it's just an idea because there are several factors that will affect the outcome.
1. If I am to start building custom ROMs for Umidigi phone (which model), obviously I'd have to get one
2. Which custom ROM the community would like to have the most
hello and welcome to this tread, i think z/zpro it's a good idea to port ,only camera lib are differents. i prefer lineageos personally.
Hi, Personally I would prefer AICP if possible.
For me it would be nice RR
AICP
LineageOS
ResurrectionRemix

Depending on your taste.
I just want different roms I'm really bored of the standard one, I would love to get LineageOS
Paranoid Android or LineageOs
Hi thanks, I would like AICP.

doesnt matter, everything is better than the stock rom crap.
Hey all, based on the current feedback seems like the favourite bunch includes:-
1. LineageOS
2. AICP
3. RR
4. Paranoid Android
But its still early days. Keep the vote coming! Meanwhile, I'll try to get myself the device so I can work on it.
I have already tried some ROMs with my other devices and LineageOS is for me the best choice.
ResurrectionRemix is the second choice for me.
I'm happy with anything that moves this phone forward ?
Rooted a must option
Thanks for all the feedback and looks like Lineage OS is the hot favourite. Don't just stop here. Keep your opinion coming and don't forget to vote.
P/S: good news coming soon
Any other ROM would be better than official crap. But I've a question: until now there is no other ROM for this device because Mediatek hasn't released source code for X27 so, how are you going to solve this?
Hi guys, I've created the first build of Lineage OS 14.1 for Umidigi Z. It can be found in my other thread @ https://forum.xda-developers.com/umi-z/development/unofficial-lineageos-14-1-umidigi-z-t3639453
Be warned that this build is not tested because I do not have the device and it is created based on the best of my knowledge. I'm well aware that there will be plenty of bugs and issues. Feel free to reply to that thread.
Looks like he had the Z not the Z pro in mind Stock rom is so limited it's untrue

The problem in releasing source code is umi.. Since other brands with same hardware get sources... Like elephone, vernee... Good example is umi super and elephone p9000 use almost same hardware helio p10 mediatek umi no source code but elephone 18 months ago allready?
Resurrection Remix for its possibilities of personalization
Is there anything new?
I have the impression that there is no really working Custom ROM for the Z Pro.

Sorry, there is nothing working at the moment. Also, take note that my effort of porting a custom rom is for UMi Z and not UMi Z Pro at the moment. But I guess the two devices are not too dissimilar though.

Request to Develop/Build Stable Device Tree for Asus X01AD.

Hello Developers,
We all know that Asus delays in providing Stable Updates. They have provided Beta Update of Android Pie in place of Stable Pie in Feb-Mar which they promised that it arrive on January. There's no Pie Beta available for my device nor any custom ROM present.
I've talked with few ROM developers about this and they said 'as soon as we get a stable Device Tree for Asus X01AD, we will start working on it'. So if anyone is interested in developing Device Tree please do it. The Kernel Source Code is available on Asus Website.
It is sad that a similar device Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 has got Official Pixel Experience Custom ROM and but No Custom ROM available for Zenfone Max M2.

Stable custom ROMs development request for Lenovo K10 Note (Lenovo Z6 Lite youth)

Guys Lenovo K10 note is very good phone with great specs as it has a Full HD+ screen and SD 710 SOC. My request to all the developers is to make this great device popular around the world like Xiaomi by making some stable custom roms for this device. HERE IS THE KERNEL SOURCE CODE FOR LENOVO K10 NOTE -
https://lenovomobilesupport.lenovo.com/nz/en/products/phones/k-series/k10-note/downloads/ds541914
All the best developers
would be great to have some development for this device
[Query] regarding when the offical TWRP will release for Lenovo K10 Note????
The device is great with a good processor, good display, good battery and a decent camera but since the phone is awesome i hereby look forward to get further amzing features of custom rom and have one more doubt about why there is no pixel experience rom for any Lenovo series mobile and there is also not any official custom rom for lenovo k6 power(karate) ........
REQUEST for all the developers to make custom roms for this amazing device
For all the above comments and others who read this,
custom development can't be done just like that, it is difficult. The developer should have this device in hand to be able to do something. Above all that they give it for free therefore we shouldn't compel or request them, someone will do it voluntarily if he/she can.
Thankfully this device is having TWRP's recovery builds and also official one. This device is project treble supported it means you can flash Generic System Image (GSI).
As of now try flashing GSIs. Download a few treble checker apps from store and look for partition structure, I think it is arm64 A-only. One more thing is that all GSIs may not work perfectly and some will not boot at all, the same time some will work perfectly all right, also there are lots of GSIs available to test.
Good Luck, Stay Safe.

Doogee Mix 2

Hello Devs,
I just want to ask is it possible to make custom kernel for this phone so the gsi custom rom, because there is only stock nougat firmware.
The phone is just great with good perfomance but the only lack is nougat.
There is twrp already made so the only problem is to make custom kernel for it.
I would very thankful for helping me with this phone.
I just see lots of "zero" answers here on Android Builders Collective so the chances to make custom kernel and GSI for Doogee mix 2 here are "ZERO".
[Research][Dev] Can Project Treble be ported?
Hi all, I am searching and wondering for any guides/ experience/ instructions about: Can Project Treble be ported to a device where the support is not introduced by the official vendor? What would be required to do so? I wonder if it would be...
