So I just ordered some ghost armor after hearing alot of great reviews and finding a 20% off promo code. Looking for some of your opinions on this product. I've read it's a pain to apply but after it cures it's an amazing product. My plan is to couple it w/my otterbox. After installation I'll update the thread a review

Best reviews over all the protective skins out there, plus warranty. Pain to install but worth the trouble. Coupled w/ a high end case (otter box/casemate) is the ultimate protection combo

Ghost Armor Review
I have an LG Nitro HD which has 329 ppi, just a little more dense than iPhone 4. It is absolutely stunning in sharpness and color rendition as well as brightness. The screen is already scratch-proof (it's made of Gorilla Glass). I tried scratching the glass with my razor sharp Swiss Army knife, it doesn't scratch. Believe me, I tested just the corner (beyond the borders of the display) and thought long and hard before attempting to scratch it.
So I got Ghost Armor for the screens of my wife's and my phones just for the oleophobic qualities (repels skin oils so doesn't look very smudgy after use). Many reviewers claim that there is no orange peel effect whatsoever. That claim is FALSE. It has a slight orange peel finish. The claim that it doesn't scratch is also false, it is in actuality scratch-resistant. I scratched it by moving the aforementioned pocket knife from side to side (perpendicular to the blade) as though shaving it. Since it is removable, this is not a problem whatsoever in my opinion. You can easily see the texture of the film on a dark screen. Also there are tiny imperfections in the surface (like pits), but they don't seem to affect the image quality of my screen, so I can't imagine a lower pixel density screen being affected. It does a great job of repelling fingerprints, but is not completely smudge-free. However it's easy to wipe with my shirt, which quickly removes the smudges.
The film doesn't have any sort of rubbery grip, at least not to objectionable proportions. Neither is it slippery as are some of the hard plastic screen protectors. I like the way it feels, and it is very thin.
We just had the screens done, there's no product for the back of our phones because it's textured. We declined to get the product for the sides and front. There's an approximately a two millimeter border around the Ghost Armor where the film doesn't reach the edge of the glass. There are voids to accommodate the front camera and sensors adjacent to it. None of those factors are objectionable. The product looks fine notwithstanding the imperfections mentioned in paragraphs above and below.
THE PROBLEM: After the first application on both of our phones there were very tiny bubbles under the film. They are numerous and look somewhat like streaks that result on glass after wiping with dilute soap. So we had it reapplied (which was done free of charge under warranty). The only hassle was having to wait for the order to come in then return to the mall cart where Ghost Armor's very polite salespeople are. Our phone model is so new and possibly not that popular tha the don't stock the product for our phones. We have the same effect (though not identical position of the "streaks") with the new application.
I am not sure whether to request a refund or give them another shot. They really do stand behind the product, but it simply doesn't meet my expectations. They get two stars because they stand behind their product, and because their salespeople are very polite and forthright.
I picked up a S4 from a corporate store last Thursday on release and grabbed the Incipio Dualpro case in white with it. Unfortunately I've noticed a pink discoloration of the outer shell already starting to occur around the parts that my hand comes in contact with the most (i.e. near the power button, below the camera, etc.). This is my first Incipio case, so I was wondering if this is a known issue or if there's a way to clean it (wiping with water isn't making it a difference).
The material of the outer case is marketed as "Plextonium" (some sort of polycarbonate). I'm an engineer and don't really come into contact with any strong chemicals so I believe the discoloration might be from natural oils in the skin. The phone is kept in jean pockets whenever it's not in use so I don't think it just rubbed up against anything (the fact that the discoloration is on the parts I touch most often also supports this).
This is quite a shame as I actually really like the case otherwise.
I ordered this last week off amazon with some reservations about the product and took a $7.00 leap of faith on PLESON. I've used their products before and have yet to have any significant issues asides from chipping on the edges of their screen protectors but that is the case for most glass protectors of any brand. Upon seeing the initial packaging I was a bit disappointed thinking they had simply set a single glass screen protector. To my surprise they had sent two plus all the proper prep materials - I was thankful for this.
The kit included the following; Glass screens (2) sticker guides (2) wet prep cloth (2) dry prep cloth (2) Large Dust removal Stickers (2) and a warranty card plus instruction manual. By far the most complete kit I've yet to use. The protector was applied easily and without air bubbles or any other defects. I have only one issue with this product. This does not span the entire screen. Leaving room for error near the edges of the bezel. Yet, a small perk to this flaw is any case that may "Wrap" (Some Otterbox cases do this) the edge of the bezel will work with this screen protector.
I installed this one last night. I'm happy 2 came in the box because I sure dropped the first one. I don't like that you can see the screen from the edge. The inward pointing corners near the top speaker don't stick.

Very disappointed to see that they changed the design from the original they showed when they took my money for the order I placed on 10/14. The original image (which did show it alongside the Pixel XL) showed cutouts for the camera and speaker, not wholly cropped sections of the glass.
Still waiting on delivery (Pleson shows it shipped on 10/18 and expected delivery by today, but didn't use any tracking method). Will have to see how well it'll play with the RhinoGuard bumper before deciding whether to keep it or not.

I have this protector and my corners near the top speaker don't stick as well. I thought I just placed it too high up, good to know I'm not the only one. I complained to Pleson and they are sending me a revised version. Not expecting it to be much better..
http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/0...cally-jerryrigeverythings-durability-testing/
"The glass used on the Honor 6X appears to be very, very prone to scratching. It scratches at level 4 hardness, whereas most phones won't scratch until level 6. It's possible Huawei didn't use the same hardened glass other phones use (Gorilla Glass or similar). Weirdly, the label used to mark the scratch test area wouldn't even peel off like it does on other phones. There's definitely something funky going on here."
"The real issue becomes apparent in the bend test. The rear metal housing is only attached to the body of the phone with a few plastic clips, so it pops right off when the phone starts to bend. That means it offers no structural support to the phone. The LCD panel is destroyed very quickly as a result."
"This is a cheap phone, so you wouldn't necessarily expect it to be indestructible. However, the Moto G4 that was tested just recently passed with flying colors. Huawei really seems to have miscalculated here. The scratch-prone display in particular is a big problem that people will actually experience from normal wear and tear."
I was expecting it to do well at zacks test because the Honor 5X did okay, but this was so very dissapointing. It's the worst phone he tested and to think that this phone costs more than the 5X. Such a shame that durability is ****.
Yeah, the Honor 6X's durability is very disappointing. As the displays litterally pops out during Zack's bend test.
Just don't bend it? Don't keep it in a back pocket or at the bottom of a bag. Pretty standard procedure.
I'm ordering an extra set of screen protector...
this is definitely not gorilla or any other high end scratch resistance glass and it was not mentioned anywhere.....having an extra pair of screen guard is always needed.
The people who take JerryRigEverything's "durability tests" seriously are simply put, dumb. The videos he make are for pure entertainment purpose. Who lights up their phone's screen with a lighter? Are there still people who wouldn't protect their screen with a protector anyway? And seriously who the heck tries to bend their phone in half even if you're a rough user. Dumbness is taking over the people.
I own Honor 6X from about a month, I have about 10 hours SoT daily on my phone. With that kinda usage, I have 0 scratches so on my screen or back so far. And of course no freakin "bends" like it's a metal ruler lol.
Thanks , didn't knew that.

Absolutely..couldnt agree more..i never rely on such durability tests.who burn their phome, who bend the phone, who throw the phone like anything... After all its a phone and not the tracer bullet whcih you will fire..we buy with some hard earn money and we use it with caution...nobody likes to throw the phone as if its a peice of paper...even if you bend a phone worth 70K INR, it will bend no matter the material used for the phone...plastic, metal or iron...
lol..its a phone like any other electronic gadgets and should be protected the same way.

While I agree about your bending point, the "glass" they chose to use on the Honor 6x is TRASH. Of the 50 phones that were tested by JerryRigEverything, only the Honor 6x scratched at level 3/4. Every other phone scratched at level 6. This is pathetic. I've never used or felt the need to use a screen protector on any of my devices, but after seeing this test I went out and bought a tempered glass protector for my Honor 6x.
I've learned my lesson from years of using smartphones. I won't buy a phone without also buying a screen protector at the same time. I will have the screen protector applied to the phone within 30 minutes of taking it out of the box. Otherwise, you're just asking for trouble. Nowadays, you can get the really nice tempered glass screen protectors for pretty cheap. They actually offer some sort of protection to the screen. At least much more than the plastic film type of protectors do. The tempered glass might (and I have to say might) shatter during a drop but keep your actual screen from shattering. In my opinion, the hardness of the actual glass of the screen is irrelevant because I will never be touching or exposing the actual glass during the lifetime of my owning of this phone. Also, since this is a relatively inexpensive phone for what you get, I wouldn't expect the hardware to be as good as the high end smartphones.

I would say that it's a combination of the screen protector and case that truly protect a phone. (Which is to say, that even the cheap plastic film screen protector can provide adequate protection of the case is built well.) On my Nexus 4, I used a Ringke case and the factory, plastic screen protector for over 2 years with no damage or major scratches to the screen protector.
I'm very OCD when it comes to my phones, I think anyone who'd join XDA probably is, but over my life as a musician & recording enthusiast I've learned that pampering & protecting my gear/kit/tech, etc. yields big dividends: longer life, higher resale value, better obsolescence rejection, etc.
On my smartphone I like a heavy duty case, cause I drop my phone more than I'd like to admit. Not from 6 feet on concrete drops, but plenty of sitting on the couch/edge of bed drowsy drops to the carpet below. I want a stout case also because it makes these increasingly paper thin devices easier to handle. After hunting one down I bought the Encased Rebel, which is basically a very good OtterBox clone, and for the screen protector, after buying several through trial and error, the GPEL Note 9 glass protector is working very well.
The hard part in using a really stout case with Samsung's curved screened phones is that after getting one with a raised lip around the screen (a feature you want), most glass screen protectors don't provide enough clearance to avoid rubbing against the raised lip of the case, causing it to peel off and eventually drop off. The GPEL protector, labeled case friendly, has a few millimeters taken away from the edge of the protector that allows the case to rest besides it with no contact.
I'm adding some pictures I posted in my Amazon reviews of these two products that show a bit of what I'm trying to describe, sorry they're not pro level by far. But for under $30 you can get a very good heavy-duty case & a screen protector that is performing great; no need for the increased sensitivity feature to be turned on & no separation or bubbles anywhere. Since there's no adhesive on the main center glass, just on the edges, in some light a slight rainbow effect can be seen, but it's nothing that interferes with the screens quality during normal viewing.
Just offering this duo as a suggestion, for when I got my Note 9 I wish there were a few more real world use descriptions about which heavy duty case worked well with what screen protector. Be cool...

Think I'm gonna get one of those screen protectors and see how it works with some optical adheasive.
Just wasted $53.00 on the ZAGG Elite (full adhesive) for the Note 9. This thing cracked just using the included squeegee trying to get the massive amount of bubbles out. Now, I have the pay ZAGG $9.99 just to ship me a replacement.
Might order the G-Pel and give it a try while waiting on ZAGG to send my replacement.

Fuhhh...Well, let me put over GPEL here like I did in my Amazon review, I just didn't want to come off as some shill. When I first ordered the Note 9 glass protector from GPEL on Amazon it showed up in a rough looking package which, sure as sh#t, contained my 2 pack of protectors with a crack in one of them.
I emailed GPEL's customer support and within hours they emailed me a confirmation number of the replacement shipment. Really good customer service. I despise installing screen protectors: the plastic film type were hell with the air bubbles, the wet application protectors are such a hassle, worrying about stray dust, etc. The GPEL has this bracket that came with it that makes lining up the glass really t. The key is patience and having plenty of light. Good luck brother...
How bad are the oil slicks with this G-Pel?

I've noticed it really depends on lighting for some reason. In my kitchen with lots of high watt LCD floods I can see a bit of a rainbow/oil slick but with the screen on and the brightness even as low as 35% or full blast it's pretty much a no issue.
But in other lighting in my house & at times outdoors, I can't see any rainbow/slick whatsoever. So I don't know; to me the only time I notice it or it bugs me is when the screen is off.

I used one of those and I have a few notes on it.
-Adheasive is strong and super thick. Will add impact protection but being so this squeegeeing you have to be careful. Very easy to crack since the adhesive is so thick and soft.
- One the corner would not stick. Mesured it at work the top right corners adheasive was 50um thicker then the rest. This was from a bad batche. Replacement was fine.
-borderes cutinto the display. You will lose the very edge and have an annoying tiny thin line of light when you are in a dark room looking at it.
-soft adheasive when pressing on a corner you can see it ooze out. It returns to normal but this will collect dust at the edges. I'm
Really like to see that as a all clear glass and better guide on how to squeegee it. Mine did not break but I could feel flex. Requires a more gentle touch when doing this. And the time required to get the bubbles out is increased 5 fold because of this. But that soft adheasive add impact protection.

Thanks for this. This seems like a decent full adhesive protector though.
You got any tips to help me get the replacement on without cracking the thing?
I guess just be careful along the edges.
I had my first drop, from about 3 ft in the bathroom, on tile floor and it was fine. I HATE doing that, but no damage at all BUT...it looks like some dust worked it's way under the protector resting in the top middle, so must've jolted it enough for some dust to slip in. I dunno...
It's not the end of the world but goddamn, first world problems or not the whole screen protector gimmick is a pain in the a##! I know I keep hearing it from people I know " get the Dome" but I'm more worried about not installing it JUST so than the bread.
One other option I'm considering is a wrist strap. On some of the Ringke cases there is a hole pre made on the case, I guess if I kept using the Rebel I'd have to thread the lanyard deal through the SPen opening on that top lip area. I don't know...

I don't use screen protectors myself, but,if I were in the same situation & the end result was merely a damaged screen protector,I'd consider myself fortunate & chalk one up in the win column.
Should my daily usage dictate that rollin' with one would be a wise decision,I'd definitely consider it.
The screen protector did its job,it saved your display & saved you from a costly repair.
If you were otherwise pleased w/the screen protector,I'd just get another, the price is certainly much less than a display replacement. (Perhaps pair it up w/a case-friendly Otterbox)
The only other option I'd look for is a screen protector that has some sort of free replacement, provided you're not on the hook for any fees (shipping/etc..).
