Hi!
Any idea where i can turn bluetooth battery optimization off? On S10 its under applications in battery optimization menu, but on OP7P i can`t find it anywhere
Iam getting some glitches/stuttering with Galaxy buds sometimes. And i have read that bluetooth battery optimization might be that causes this problem.
Also bluetooth codec, bitrate etc. things don`t save in developer options.
Anyone else have tired this Buds with 7Pro?
Are you referring to this? Also, you have to update the firmware in Galaxy Wearables...

Yeah! That menu. I cant see bluetooth on battery usage list
Buds firmware is up to date.
Edit: I found that bluetooth menu. But i cant change optimization off.
Bluetooth is a system app which as of a recent OOS update you can't modify Battery Optimisation settings for. Really dumb design choice and I no longer have working sleep tracking using wearables because of it.
No Problems here.

It looks like sometimes Spotify will just cut out and stop streaming music at times. I haven't had this issue with any of my previous devices. I find it hard to believe it's related to the network in my area. Anyone know if there's battery saving profiles that may be enabled by default? I checked Battery Stats > Optimization and it shows Spotify is unchecked.
I'm on B388 Nougat.
EDIT: It's done this numerous times now and it always happens at the 6 second mark. Some type of maybe 5 second timeout after the screen turns off?
EDIT2: Looks like the issue was my with Adguard VPN. When I disabled it, the issue went away.
Just installed the latest official Android Pie. Here is a list of things that I have noticed for the pass 24hrs. Oneplus 6 A6000 6GB/64GB.
Battery Life
There is no significant battery improvement or deterioration. Still getting approx. 4hrs30mins SOT with 60% WiFi, 40% Mobile Data most of the time.
Performance
There is no significant speed boost or lag, the phone still behaves the same as Android Oreo. Transitions between apps is still snappy. Using the in-house navigation gesture, I don't like the pill type navigation buttons.
Heat Generation
No significant heating issue, the phone does not warm up while using Facebook/Instagram and gaming on Brawl Stars. I can't comment anything about playing PUBG with it. No heating issues when charging while using it. I don't use my phone under a hot sun, so no comment on that.
Charging Speed
No significant difference. Still manage to boost it from 20%-80% under 40mins.
Brightness
As someone pointed out, I need to raise the brightness bar more to get the same amount of brightness to compared to Android Oreo. I do not use adaptive brightness.
Audio
The loudspeaker seems to have more treble now, and it is quite horrible, it has more hissing sound than before.
Recent App Layout
I hate it. I prefer the vertical layout (Yes you can revert it back to vertical layout by freezing the Oneplus Launcher, or something like that). Locking apps in the recent menu takes a bit more effort now.
Ringtone/Notification/Media Adjustment Layout
The new layout for adjusting the volumes is horrible. I always wind the ringtone volume as sometimes I am in a more quiet environment (No, the alert slider is not the way to go for me). So now in order to adjust the ringtone volume, i had to press the little wheelcog icon after pressing the volume rocker, bring up the volume settings, and then wind the ringtone volume, and it will playback the sound just before i could stop it, which is very annoying. I prefer the Oreo style volume adjustment. The playback is just plain annoying.
Alarm Clock App
The new alarm clock app is horrible. For every new alarm I set, it will require me to change to my favourite alarm sound (because now the default one is Spring, i prefer Alarm_Clock_5).

Were there any good things?
I accidentally came here to know if it was even possible for vertical layout for recent apps.
Thanks buddy. +1
Here was my first experience coming from 5.1.8
after updating to android pie on oneplus 6 advanced settings is Missing...and also option to forbid internet access for apps is missing....dese two r very useful essential.. is it hidden r any ways to get it back?
No more advanced reboot menu.
No more xposed
The new nav bar is pretty good! Got used to it almost immediately.
Overall performance is at par with Android O.
Haven't found anything that's substantially new, other than the new UI which is a good welcome change after seeing the previous one for so many years (across all OP devices).

Workaround here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...nos-5-1-5-ota-oneplus-6-t3794232/post77696736
No advanced reboot, face unlock is a bit slower (despite the clean install), it seems there is a problem with some sounds in apps like twitter in silent and vibration mode, and i think that the new settings layout it's pretty confusing...
I noticed i can't install twrp i stuck on "fasboot boot twrp.img" i get a crhasdumb mode. I tried everything like msdownload full phone install with that. Nothin happens. Tried to install pie with via fastboot. Nothing, any helps? (With msdownloader oreo is still working the twrp boot command )
Battery is a little better....
Camera is the same ***** than before, or worse.....
Apart that everything seems to work,,,,
I like it. No issues on mine. Plays gfx intensive games good and less heat, better game mode options, and seems less lag for me
Anyone facing animation issue while disconnecting a call? I am facing it continuously
It was super smooth on oreo
I do like the new quick settings as someone who can't see small print or icons this is a very welcome change. Also like that I can have both battery icon and % on bar, don't know why just my preference to have both.
I don't like that the volume button only controls media over ringtone and no way to change it. I much prefer the old way of the volume settings. OP still has not separated the ringtone from the notification volume control, this point drives me insane.
I've shut off the adaptive brightness, I find it worthless and I don't need Google deciding what they think the brightness level should be for me. Not sure if it was OP or Google, but the initial brightness level was set entirely too low.
I knew it was coming, but still a little miffed that OP didn't put some code back in bringing them back. I hate, absolutely hate that Google took away the different profiles for battery and location. In essence you either turn it on or off for both. I liked the different profile settings on both of these, I don't need nor want everything in location set to High (which is what it is), I want my battery saving setting back. Same goes with the battery, I would like to be able to shut off that adaptive battery and choose my settings like it used to be. I'm not a fan of how they changed the battery usage stats around either.
I'm still waiting on to see if I see any battery savings to this new way, but so far it seems to be more hype than actual real world performance.
The settings menu seems to be a bit disorganized for me with entirely too many submenu's within menus, so IMO it's a bit convoluted.
As for OP, still having issues of 3rd party dialers finding the call settings, they've yet to fix this.
I've installed Nova launcher since the tap off issue is now fixed in P and have all my features I missed so much from prior phones.
Camera quality has gone down

I found a pretty annoying bug regarding the pixel Pil nav bar. Details here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/help/bug-report-pixel-pil-button-t3845952
The smoothness in the new App switcher is a little buggy. Could be smoother.
Everything else work es fine for me. Battery life seems the same.
Got somebody a issue with Threema? I only get messages when i open the app. I switched on the background processes for Google play Services and Threema and deactivates the battery optimisations but some settings you can toggle in Oreo are gone.

During call, it is very difficult to pull down the notification bar. I need to pull it really towards the center of the screen to keep it there, else it will just roll up again.

1- I couldn't figure out how to see the screen on time as after unplugging the phone. The Android 10 insists on showing daily screen time but I don't think it's relevant info regarding SoT.
2- There is a problem with sounds. I'm using Bixby routines and when I'm at work I adjusted the profile to make the phone silent. However, when I leave work and when the profile turns the sound on, the recent sound levels seem to gone and I have to adjust ringer and notification sounds manually. There is no a static level for sounds could be chosen whatsoever.
3- The last problem is about screen recorder. When screen recorder is on there isn't an option to hide notifications but there must be an option about this.

For the first one, I highly recommend AccuBattery app. It shows detailed charging/discharge statistics, as well as the battery health.
I couldn't understand why Samsung didn't add something like "Battery usage since last full charge" though.

I'm using GSam pro for this since Samsung's own app messed up with daily indicator crap.
Let's talk about bug's on the stock MIUI 12 Rom for the Poco F2 Pro (not xiaomi.eu).
First of all app permissions are useless. I block apps like Gearbest to not run in backgroud = I get ads from Gearbest app every day in notification center. I put VPN on autostart, run in background, keep the connection in VPN settings and disable MIUI battery safer for that VPN app = it kills the app sometimes over the day and at night it kills the app instantly after I lock the screen, every time.
WiFi 6 is broken as well. Calls over VoWiFi are broken and sometimes the speed drops down for no reason. WiFi 4 n works perfectly.
Sometimes no icon in status bar, like VPN icon when it's connected, VoLTE I never saw (but it works) and even Google calander is shown the icon in status bar but nothing in notification center (2 times for now).
Haven't noticed any issues myself.
You use VPN and got WiFi6?
Device is awake all the time.
Same, causing overnight battery drain
I lose 1% per 1h at night.
Lose 3% in 8.5 hours (overnight); 0.35% per hour.
Battery stats doesn't work properly
- Dark mode is awful in apps like messenger, messages were white with white text or animations of someone typing were not fully transparent but just white I had to enable dark mode inside app and add app to ignore list for system one.
- Always on Display. I dont understand how schedule works, I set it to 7am-11pm but AOD shows up all the time.

Stand by is fine, drops a maximum of 2-3% for me. But once we start using, miui 12 have terrible battery optimization
for me seems like i get more battery drain, but havent checked yet, but comming from a day of downloading apps back on miui 11 and later update to miui 12 seems like my battery toke a hit..
I was thinking about making a separate "rant" thread about MIUI 12 on the F2 Pro, but since you're all here I might as well share my frustration.
Coming from years of both Samsung One UI and Stock android, I have one big and two small issues with MIUI 12.
Every other android vendor on the planet (probably) has 4 sound modes: Ring, Vibrate and Silent and DND. You would think that there is no need to change that, but Xiaomi apparently had a different opinion.
- Okay, ring works as expected, but the only time my phone is on Ring is when it's in the setup and I can't change it to Vibrate.
- There is no actual Vibrate, there is this Silent thing, which sets the Ring volume to 0 (so.. vibrate) and offers to mute all media sounds...
- Then there is DND which mutes all notifications, doesn't offer to mute media sounds (like Samsung does), restricts visual popups for notification but doesn't stop the screen from lighting up when you get a notification and the phone is locked like WHAT?! I'm out here trying to sleep and this huge 6.7" screen is lighting up like it's a flashlight?
EDIT: they fixed it ?
Speaking of flashlight, and I know this isn't a grand issue, if you're using the new Control Center, you can rearrange the quick tiles at the bottom, but not the 4 at the top. Why? I would love to be able to switch the Mobile Data and WiFi but no.
I love this phone and it's battery. Easily lasts 2 days. But whose idea was it that the battery stats will show only the last 24 hours instead of since last full charge, like everyone else? ?*
12.0.2.0 fix almost nothing.

Pretty much this. Checking using AccuBattery, the device only entered deep sleep for 5 min for the whole day. Thinking rooting the phone to force device enter doze.
12.0.2.0 and I can forget about audio over bluetooth... this is so disgusting, never seen such a bugged phone.
I'm using the POCO F2 Pro Global Version with the MIUI 12 and I have this issue with Twitter.
Push Notifications are enabled in the app, and when I received the number 9 Notification, the new coming Notification will erased the last one.
It limits to 9 Notifications only.
Any solution please?

That's odd I don't have issues with Bluetooth audio on qc35 and wf-1000xm3 and envaya mini haven't noticed any issues.
There are other bugs like video tools styles being blank etc crushed colours on lockscren probably others but I haven't noticed any Bluetooth issues
The update I presume was mainly a security update.

I had no problems, now I can forget to listen music over bluetooth. I try to connect the same TWS with my Mate 20X and no issues, connect again with Poco F2 Pro and same problems. Also reboot the device and pair it again.
Security update is about 80MB, not 400MB. They change also the VoWiFi logo but VoLTE still not fixed (don't show the icon).

What issues are you having with connecting or pairing or looking for headsets or dropped connections when streaming?
Also I've said it's mainly a security update given they've jumped a bit from the initial preparations of miui 12 also some apps got updated along the way.
Can't check VoLTE as my operator doesn't support it.

3 sec. sound, than 1 sec cut, than few sec. sound and again 1 sec cut
I have multiple Androids with Bluetooth, 8, 9, 10.
I have multiple commercial Bluetooth devices, keyboard, heart monitor.
I have multiple homemade Bluetooth devices.
I can read battery level just fine by rolling my own app and reading GATT service 0x180f, characteristic 0x2a19.
I have never seen battery level under Settings.apk, "Device details" for anything.
No, I don't want an app or a battery icon on the status bar. I'd just like the battery level to be there in Settings.
I did a quick dive in Settings.apk and I see that the sub-layout is advanced_bt_entity_sub.xml
The code is in com.android.settings.bluetooth.AdvancedBluetoothDetailsHeaderController
In updateSubLayout() there is a bunch of stuff about "untethered headsets".
Am I missing something? Is there something to be enabled? Did Google lock this down for non-headsets? Should I keep diving?
Edit: I just remembered that I did have a pair of Bluetooth headphones. I paired them and the battery level popped up. Unless you have "Phone calls" enabled you don't get to see the battery. What kind of stupidity is this?
"settings_ui/bt_advanced_header_enabled" is used in the config settings (but not present), but the default on query is true anyway.
Edit: Oops, the "namespace" is not bluetooth.
