Is there a way to enable the vertical (old) recent app list while using gestures?
these horizontal iphone like recent apps is annoying.

hi!
i'm using the fantastic tool LMT by l3v5y and noname81.
sliding up with two fingers closes the foreground app, sliding down shows my favorite taskmanager (showcase or task facade).
my idea is that sliding with two fingers left/right switches between the running apps (like sliding with one finger left/right switches sense tabs).
how can this be realised? which apps should be assigned to the left/right gestures in order to switch apps?
thanks for your suggestions

Which LMT version are you running? The described behaviour is the default one in v0.8!? Just double swipe left or right to switch between running processes...

And why didn't you post your question in the LMT thread?
I guess you can edit the registrykeys
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629263
says:
“PrevApp” -> switch to previous app (Alt-Tab feature)
“NextApp” -> switch to next app (Alt-Tab feature)
So:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\LMT]
"RightToLeftLineDouble"="PrevApp"
"LeftToRightLineDouble"="NextApp"
What is the best alternative to the on-screen buttons out there today? Pie Control sounds okay but not as quick and intuitive as I'd like. Is there anything else that's similar to what the Palm Pre used to do? Example...swipe up from bottom to go home, swipe up and down or up and right for recent apps, and some type of swipe left or up and left to activate Back.
I use Nova Prime and it has gesture features built it. You can install the free version to check out what options are in there.
How about something outside of a specific launcher? Standalone would be preferred so it could work with anything. Is there anything that offers bottom swipes for home/recents and a side swipe for Back?
Swipe home button is the closest I have found
Check out lmt launcher. Its not a launcher in the traditional sense. Its system wide and has pie and gesture control.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
This disabled the hardware buttons on the N4: add `qemu.hw.mainkeys=1` in system/build.prop/. Guess it will also work on the N5. Use LMT Launcher http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150 or Pie Control on Google Play for navigation, link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jun.ace.piecontrol.
Thanks, LMT Launcher with its invisible swipe areas looks to be exactly what I was looking for, I'd rather activate this stuff with an edge swipe instead of using the PIE controls. Gestures might work as well on a larger screen. Can anyone speak to how well the invisible swipe areas work, and if this app works on 10" tablets like the Nexus 10?
Reading around it seems like LMT might not work on Nexus 10. Any options that do? Primarily interested in swiping up from the bottom of the screen to trigger home/recents similar to Palm Pre, as opposed to PIE controls.
Are Lollipop 5 overview / recent apps in landscape listed top to bottom? Putting apps list down low to keyboard height (if needed) - obtain something similar to KitKat 4 cover flow recent apps layout (listed left to right)
I'm not on Lollipop yet.
I just tried the Lollipop 5 carousel recent apps switcher (overview?) in a store with the Nexus 9, and once I had few apps open, some of the apps were covered, and in the top and back.
I use a Nexus 10 that is placed on a surface, and I think that I would have to keep lifting my palm to reach the thumbnails at the back and top.
The KitKat 4 recent apps (cover flow?) are at the same height of the top row buttons of the stock Android keyboard, and are thus easily reachable.
Perhaps the Lollipop recent apps view that I saw that had the apps out of keyboard-level reach was only for portrait view?
But then I found this site with a picture of the Lollipop recent apps in landscape view:

sarriest.wordpress/com/2014/12/01/lollipop-sweet-or-not-sweet/[/url]
I can access 6 apps in KitKat 4 recent apps, and they’re all at keyboard level.
I am concerned that even in landscape view, the recent apps in Lollipop 5 will be listed top to bottom, and there will be less apps at keyboard level.
I see another article that has this picture of a grid view of the running apps.

I initially thought that you had 2 choices in Lollipop: grid and carousel.
It looks like having the choice of 2 options might just be for the HTC SenseUI.
Is the carousel recent/running apps switcher the only available option for Lollipop 5?
Are 3rd party apps allowed to let you choose a grid view, cover flow view, etc.?
I'm seeing mention of recent apps modifications with Cyanogenmod, Paranoid Android, Xposed, etc..
Does that mean that mean that you might need to root to change the recent apps layout?
Thanks.
I know this isn't specifically related to the Fold2, but given its unique two-screen implementation, I'm trying to stay away from Nova Launcher and stick to the stock One UI home launcher, as it permits different setups on each of the screens which I think is key.
Anyway, I've relied so heavily on Nova Launcher for little things like two-finger swipe down to trigger a Sesame search (e.g. launch any app without having in on a home screen), I'm having a hard time replicating some of this.
Right now, I'm having to put a Sesame widget on each screen, but has anyone found a Gesture App that will enable my to do a two-finger swipe down to trigger an app launch (e.g. Sesame) with the stock One UI launcher?
Yes, I know I can swipe up from the bottom to get to the app drawer and then do a search, but that's more clicks because you have to click on the field for the app search, whereas with sesame you click on the widget and it's right in the text search box with the keyboard ready (little things...!)
Otherwise I'm still on the learning curve of One UI home since I've literally never used it across S7, S10+, S20+ ugh....

I use FNG https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fb.fluid and have a swipe up from the side of the phone trigger sesame.
You can set it up really any way you want i just prefer having the gesture similar to getting access to the app drawer.

Thanks, not quite what I want, and I guess you need the Pro version to pick a specific app...but appreciate it nonetheless.
Answering my own question...this doesn't quite meet the requirement in terms of it being a two-finger swipe down gesture, but Samsung's own *free* One-Hand Operation + allows you to assign any app to a single-finger swipe in from left or right (yes, it conflicts with gestures from one side but I always swipe back on the right anyway). Confirmed working with Sesame - yay!

Is there any method to change the recents style in A10 (Q) from the new horizontal scroll to the old vertical scroll or like the one in MIUI which has multiple apps visible at the same time in a horizontal scroll type?
I am using AOSIP in POCO M2 Pro.
I feel the new recents style in Android is a waste of real-estate as the screens of newer Android phones are bigger and so a recents tab with multiple app overview would be the Best (like the one in MIUI where almost 4 full app previews are visible at a time). Also, it is very hard to land right on the desired app as You have to scroll right to that app. It is so easy to miss that app as scroll locks to one app rather than stopping in a place with half of each app.
