Tethering shortcut? - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
New to oxygen. How do I add a wifi tethering shortcut to the top drawer?
Currently it takes 6-7 clicks to get to the menu.
Running 9.5.7.GM21AA

Hi, you can do that by following these steps
1) Install Nova launcher. Don't need to use it as default launcher.
2) Once installed, long press on home screen and select "widgets"
3) Scroll down and tap and hold " Nova launcher Activities”
4) Scroll down and expand "Settings"
5) Once Settings is expanded, scroll down and tap "Hotspots & Tethering".
Now you have a shortcut straight to Tethering saving you 3-4 taps.

You should be able to add the icon to your QuickSettings labled "Hotspot"

It worked perfectly on MiUI 12. There was a "Tethering and portable hotspot option"

[Q] G2 --- my "applications" link is missing

my dock is missing the "applications" button and i can't find anywhere on my phone to get it back.
If I create a shortcut , it goes to apps but then I have to choose a single app.
Anyone know how to get back the main Application button/link for my dock ???
I have a G2 .
Assuming you are using ADW as your home/launcher:
Long press on your home screen > select "Launcher Actions" > select "Open/close App Drawer

Zeam launcher how do I get the applications button back

I updated Zeam to 3.0.2 and it added all of my applications to the dock
So I just removed everything from the dock but I want the applications button on there and I can't figure out how to get it back.
Does anyone know how to add the applications button to the dock?
This should work:
Long press somewhere on the screen > select "add to screen" > select "applications shortcut" > drag the icon to your dock

Quick tip (if you don't like using the power button)

Just a quick tip for people who don't like using the power button to turn the screen off. If you happen to use Apex Launcher you will know it gives the user the ability to use "Gesture Control" in the form of swiping (up and down) and double-tapping.
Some people will also know about useful apps that allow the user to quickly turn off the screen with just a single touch on the screen, usually in the form of a widget. Well, a certain app called Screen Off and Lock is used in the form of a normal app that is launched. So, when configuring gesture controls on Apex Launcher it gives you the option to launch an app using any one of the provided gestures and when using it in conjunction with Screen Off and Lock you have an easy way to turn off the screen. I personally use double-tap and it works flawlessly.
To use:
Download and install "Apex Launcher" and "Screen Off and Lock" (both have free versions)
Select Apex as your default launcher and then go into "Apex Settings"
Navigate to "Behavior Settings" and select any one of the "Gestures" (except "Long Press")
Press "Launch App" and then select "Screen Off" (not "Configuration")
Enjoy
EDIT:
Also, don't forget to go into [(System) Settings > Security > Device administrators] and "check" the box next to Screen Off and Lock.

Adjust GS7 Edge DPI without Root

Here is a quick guide to adjusting your screen's dpi without root using a hidden menu. Original post found on phandroid http://phandroid.com/2016/03/17/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-native-dpi-setting-hidden/. Works great it helps condense the words on the screen so when viewing websites and other things the words are no longer on the edges.
Download/install Nova Launcher
On the Nova Launcher home screen, long press empty space and select “Widgets” at the bottom of the screen
Scroll to the top of the Widget select screen and swipe to the left to reveal the shortcut for “Activities“
Long press Activities and drop it on the home screen
A new screen will pop up and after it loads up (this can take awhile), scroll down and select the Settings drop down menu
Choose .DisplayScalingActivity (should be the 4th option down)
Now select the new Settings icon on your home screen (it wont be labeled) to open up the hidden DPI menu
Select either Standard or Condensed views
Phone will reboot with new settings applied

Issues with stock launcher and swipe up from home

Anyone else who is using the stock launcher experiencing this (already submitted issue)?
https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...-not-working-properly-when-in-an-app.1020737/
1. Have "Back, Home - swipe up on the home button -" activated in the "navigation bar & gestures" settings of the device.
2. Open any app on the device
3. Swipe up on home button or on the right side of the Pill navigation bar in order to access recent apps. In short, try accessing the recent apps screen by swiping up fast.
4. Observe that it doesn't work and after swiping a second time, it takes you instantly on the home screen without accessing the "recents apps" screen
Click to collapse
Happens to me randomly with stock launcher set as default. With Nova as default it seems to be resolved.
