Different ROMs affect LTE bands? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello, quick question
i have note 7 pro Chinese variant, if i flash the Indian ROM or EU ROM, will it affect my lte bands?
Considering the Chinese and Indian variant have different LTE bands
Chinese variant has bands 7, 34, 38, 39 where as the Indian one does not.

Yes it's very likely to interfere with the phone's ability to pick up those certain bands even though the phone has the required hardware support, it should work to a certain extent.

No it will not. Rom has nothing to do with the bands

But that variant of MIUI might prevent the phone from connecting to those as they aren't fine tuned for those bands

That is the W8 model they reviewed. (Canada only model)
Would that have something to do with it? I don't keep up on all the bands/frequencies that all the carriers all over use.
I really was hoping the S6 would move away from all these region specific models since they are managing the radios on their soc with Broadcom now.
You almost have to buy an iPhone if you travel internationally a lot. I don't know of any other phone that has everything covered by the radio.

The Sony Z3 sold in Taiwan has most world bands on it of LTE.
Samsung and HTC suck at this. They should at least release an international model on their own website for those who do not mind forking out full price to get an unlocked model with most LTE Bands for those travel often.
Still just GSM though right?
I thought the iPhone covered much more than that. Maybe I'm wrong..

This is the firmware you need to flash with Odin >>>>>>here
It should be noted there's not really a downside to it being FD, the F and FD are identical it's just the FD comes with two IMEI's to support two SIM's.

5G on Chinese after flashing global

This is to confirm that 5G uses band 78 in UK and MI 10 pro supports band 78 in China and Europe as well.
If you want to use 5G after flashing global on dual SIM Chinese 5G mobile, all you have to do is turn of second SIM and network will change from 4g+ to 5G
Network coverage is also better then Samsung phones. S20 ultra who struggle to get 5G in most of the areas whereas MI 10 pro gets it in almost every area.

What do you mean by "all you have to do is turn of second SIM"
I can't find a place to turn it off so!
Thanks
How do you turn off the second SIM?

8T with ROMS & Verizon

I'm looking at getting an 8T but my interest in flashing roms is too great. I've read through a few threads about roms not working on Verizon.
Is this still an issue? I need to have phone service (obviously). Would I be happy in being able to use various ROMS while maintaining Verizon service? 5g even?
Anyone could give insight?
5G doesn't work on any ROM with VZW even though the phone supports the 5G nsa Low bands. I've even tried forcing the phone into 5G via the programming menu. Verizon simply won't allow it for non certified phones. The phone tries over and over and eventually loses all service until you reset the radios.

Verizon 5G does work on this device, following this guide here. Source: My carrier is Verizon. But I as well have tried ROMs, and Verizon does not work on any I have tested. Quite disappointing.
EDIT: Verizon does work on the latest LineageOS and HavocOS versions.

Question Differences between Flip3 versions

I have a Flip 3 version of the SM-F711B. What are the hardware differences with other versions of SM-F7110, SM-F711N, SM-F711U, SM-F711U1, SM-F711W?
Can I flash to my Flip3 version of the SM-F711B via Odin software designed for other versions? For example, for the SM-F711N version, software with Android 12 was released on December 15, 2021, can I flash it to my Flip3 version of the SM-F711B?

As far as I know, you cannot flash OEM images across different hardware revisions.
