OnePlus Camera version - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

I just recently updated to 9.5.7 and definitely notice the effort OnePlus puts in to make our 7 Pros all we expect them to be. While poking around on APK Mirror, I noticed the OnePlus Camera apk is version 3.3.8 (dated 6/9/2019). The camera app installed with OxygenOS Update 9.5.7 is 3.2.105. Does anyone know what the differences are or if this is even for our phone?

Link it and I'll test.

I wasn't worried about installing it. I just know my limits and know I don't understand enough to point out the differences. For me, XDA is a place to learn and I appreciate all the advice and knowledge shared herr

Notes there on APKmirror states that it was taken from Android Q.

It works fine here. It didn't even change any of my settings when I installed it.

I gotta agree. There seems to be no discernible difference other than the obvious version number. Haven't used it enough to compare quality. I'll report back if there's a noticable difference.

I didn't notice a whole bunch of difference. I took a bunch of pics this past weekend after downloading the update. However, I didn't take many before. So I can't quite compare the before/after quality. Overall seems like the people are ending up soft. Faces and such. But my only comparison taking side by side pictures is with my son-in-law's Mate 20 pro. Which takes amazing photos.

which build are you using(no offese to any builder).

I wanted to start a poll to see what buikd everyone is using. Be proud and tell everyone what you got on that G1!
I voted but...
I think these builds are changing too fast and folks are flashing from one to the next too fast for these results to have much of a lifespan. By the time I check back tomorrow I'll probably be on a different build.

Lol . Your right, im so confused on which one i esant because they all seemed to be real good, and they update super fast. My head spinnin.

Yeah, but it's interesting to see what everyone has now! I'm sticking with H for the foreseeable future, since so far it works well for me.
Might want to include JF's builds in their as well. I'd be interested to know how many actually switched over from JF's builds (as those are the most stable and complete).
Personally, I'm on The Dude's G build. I loved Haykuro's G build and switched over after the market fiasco and haven't gone back. It does mostly everything I need. I tried the H build and hated it and I wouldn't mind being back on JF's RC33 as I do miss the app compatibility, but I can't give up the correct SMS Canadian timestamps, increased standby mode battery life, faster browser, awesome google VK, and the other benefits that come with the 1.5 builds.

Still rock RC33-based JF. Stability over new features for me.
I'm on Dudecake for the Moment. It's as stable as JF in respect to app's Force Closes; I've got some sound/volume issues.

I understand i should have included the JF's builds.
I'm on Haykuro H build. I'm loving it too. I haven't updated to Hr4 yet.
i use The dude build, since the other g build the market got broken
I'm on the new Dude 8 build as well miner issues still being worked out but should be fixed with in the next two updates so ill stick with this. I heard something about stable builds this is as stable as JF builds even with the few issues. I have tried the H build which is also very good but dont feel any build is as stable as the Dude 8 build,I also used the G build which was very good until the market problem also the lack of features was a turn off.
The Dude 8 build is what i suggest.
I'm thinking about trying the dude build myself.

You haven't noticed yet? Market is back on G builds
Me? H appstosd since day one, Tried the G and didnt like it
I liked the G builds, felt like "home." THEN I discovered the camera in the H builds. Better still, I went A2SD and became a fan for life. Not wanting to be biased, I tried all the builds and have gone about mixing and matching all week. I flashed Dude's .8, Haykuro's Gr4, and back to Hr4 in a matter of hours.
Then I found out I was biased. Any G build better come hard core with the camera to win me back. That's a build-breaker for me now that I've seen that the camera is not-as-crappy as previously believed.

I always read post saying that the camera is really important. I've tried all the builds, I don't see a HUGE difference in picture quality... it is a 3 megapixel camera.
To each his own though. Happy picture snapping!

Well... many people here spent 200-400$ on their phone.
For 100$ you can get a cheap digital camera at walmart with digital zoom and crappy effects. I've messed with a lot of camera phones(Tmo dealer) and none of them really compare to a "real" camera. Until they start building phones with optical zoom, you kids can keep cropping your pics. LOL

A review yesterday posted that they used the Google camera and results were much better. Question is if both cameras are being used
Here is a link To the one from the XDA Article just to make things easier.
And This is the latest version on the Russian thread that I saw.

Thanks. Another thread pointed to a v2.2 at this link . Not sure what changes there. Will continue to play with this.
What is the difference in the versions? Will things like auto HDR work?
I don't know the change, you'd have to reference the Russian forum and even with Google translate I haven't quite tracked the dialog. aHDR is working fine, based off another XDA thread the slow-motion camera isn't working.
Hey guys, sorry to give you a screenshot of the picture comparison but I'm a bit lazy today and forgot to turn off the geo-location tags. Hopefully i get some more shots in later this weekend and post back later.
I'm using the v1.4 the original GCAM app from the XDA article. I can't say that I trust the v2.2 from the Russian site at the moment so sorry again. If it gets updated and the XDA article says it was updated I'll be more willing to try the v2.2 app.
What you see is the Essential app on the left versus the GCAM app on the right. I prefer what I've seen from the Essential app but in actual usage the GCAM works much faster and believe it or not feels more stable. As you can see there is definitely a difference in picture quality especially around the glass and text. Mind you I'm coming from a Pixel XL so that is my frame of reference as far as what I should be expecting from both apps. From looking at the picture versus what my eye is seeing the GCAM is more true to my eye, however I find the light/dark balance more pleasing on the Essential app. Personally I really hope Essential gets it together because from what I've read the GCAM software doesn't make use of the monochromatic lens and I think that if someone can combine the best function of both apps we as the users would be the real winners.
If I can get more shots without the metadata in it I'll be sure to post them up. Otherwise I'm subscribed to this thread so I can keep up with the latest updates for the GCAM app.
I cannot get this to install for some reason. The when screen is unresponsive when I try tapping the install button.
Edit: toggling unknown sources again seemed to do the trick
Just messing around with my Essential camera between GCam 1.4 (aHDR first) and EP (HDR second)... You can clearly see the difference in low light...
Neither are great but GCam turned out better.
The next 2 are from my OnePlus 5...GCam 1.4 (aHDR third) and then OPO (aHDR last)
Man OPO looks worse (and even GCam is somehow worse on it as well...) also it looks like OPO goes to the pink side with Gcam but not its stock cam. The EP Cam just look bad all around lol.

Honestly I don't think Essential is better. :-/
I think I'm going to return mine.
The download links are unable to locate mirrors so I cannot try either version of the camera app listed in this thread. Am I missing something or were these files already taken down?
Got mine 2 days ago and installed the 2.2 Gcam. Personally I don't notice too much difference but then again I'm a colorblind old man. Just had this happen when I opened the Essential Cam and a reboot fixed it. I haven't been able to reproduce it yet.
I tried the 4.4v with zero shutter lag that B-S-G had posted on another forum here. So far it seems to be working quite well, it's nice to have the google interface again and it seems to take better photos, though I'm terrible at photos in general so it's hard for me to tell.

The name is a misleading, the variant linked in the article is 1.4. "4.4" I believe refers to the Google versioning of the app, not the port versioning.

Is there a Google Camera for OP6?

Is there a Google Camera for OP6?
Anyone know where to start testing?
Thanks!
I just got mine today and I really like it.
Tried the new GoogleCamera-Pixel3Mod-Arnova8G2-V3.apk today. Instant crash
Tried the latest version of the above and had the same issues too.
Compared to my Pixel 2, the stock camera really isn't as far behind as some make it out to be. I'm a pretty big stickler about things like that too.
EDIT: Did some further testing and other than bokeh, this camera really does lag behind the Pixel 2. Link to some examples here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/UqbINgpI8nmVaOR33

[SHARE][MOD][APP] Google Camera 7.0.009 with almost all functions working!

Hi there! I'm just sharing this Gcam version I accidentally bumped into on the port hub. This means I cannot provide any support or bugfix.
Tested and almost every aspect of it works except for slow motion and photo sphere.
Tested and working:
Front:Selfie:✓ normal shot✓ normal shot✓ normal video✓ normal video✓ night sight✓ night sight✓ portrait shot✓ portrait shot✓ lens blur✓ lens blur✓ time lapse
✓ panorama
✓ photo sphere
Definitely not working:
✕ Slow motion
The picture quality pretty good but there is no 48 mp. I'd say 12 just like on the Pixel phones.
16:9 ratio resolution is: 2160x3840
4:3 ratio resolution is: 3000x4000
Further testing needed.

Bablus could buy the device thanks to donations! Thanks to all who donated!
As you already know development on realme devices suck beacuse of ****ty or incomplete sources, lack of developers interest and biggest reason is lack of community support.
Our man here @BabluS is a legendary developer of Asus Zenfone Max M1 Pro and is willing to compile stable ROMs for our device. But, he needs some donations to buy the device. He has already compiled Android 10 (PE) for our device which is 99% stable. To continue this tremendous work he needs to have the device in hand.

What? I was kind of frustrated how only 6.1 Gcam works on our new device so I was downloading all sorts of gcam versions from the gcam port hub. Before this one worked, I installed 12 gcam versions of Gcam 7+ and none of them worked. For 13th try this one worked. This has nothing to do with your post or whatever.
Ctc. Then why did u post thanks it works.
You know what, just leave it. These things are just discoveries which no one else should take credit of other than the developer. Huge shot out to the one who created it. Over and out with you.

Because that one worked? That's why I thanked. Still nevertheless I was disappointed how we only get 6.1 gcam while there are 7+ gcams out there so I started downloading 7+ gcam versions hoping one of them will work. I'm really in love with up to date stuff. So as I said I really stumbled upon this version and nothing it has to do with your share. Only that the version you shared was too incomplete for me and made me want a newer version. That's why I found this 7+ verison because the 6+ version didn't satisfy me. Why should I have mentioned your posts while your post barely had anything to do with me finding this working 7+ verison? It's not like you made that Gcam verison or I made this one. These are just shares and we share them so others will be able to use their camera to their fullest. It's not like I stole from you or anyone, or I took credits for anything.

Oh, sorry. I mistook you for someone else.
This was the only post that I saw about gcam for the device. I thought you were the OP of that thread. I didn't ever see your post with 7+ gcam. If I saw I wouldn't made a double with the same version. After seeing the 6.1 version I went to celzoalvedo or what site, I mean the port hub and started looking for a newer working version. I don't even know what's going on.
Indeed I thanked in that thread but for op's post, not yours I slipped over your version share. If I saw it, I wouldn't have downloaded 12+ versions from the port hub and saved myself from a lot of annoyances. Now I understand what you're talking about. Now I understand why you asked if I'm a developer, I guess. I was just happy that the 13th version of gcam I downloaded from the port hub worked and in that sudden spike of success/joy I shared on xda for others to use too. Sorry for being ignorant and not seeing your previous comment on that thread. I'd not even have made this thread if I saw your post.

Try clearing the appdata and setting it to default again.Or try switching between the gcam default and medium saturation a few times. Coz mine also started out pretty desaturated but sort of corrected itself after fiddling a bit and restarting the app. I would have shown samples but its not letting me to.most probably because mines a new account.

[S9+ Snapdragon] Working GCam by Burial

Long story short, I was messing around with a couple GCam by different developers and one by Burial that works amazing well for the S9+. I'm using the Sprint variant, so Snapdragon model.
I install the app like you would using any other app. When you first enter the GCam dont touch the different lens that appear, I think they're .06x, 1x and 2x. (These are aux lenses, dont enable them in the advanced settings either. )Changing those will cause the app to crash and you'll have to clear the app's data to get it working again. Soon enough those lenses will go away and you dont have to worry about accidentally hitting, at least that happened with me.
Mess around with the configs or upload your own. Keep in mind this version wasnt intended for the S9+, so there might be settings not meant for this device. Bugs may also exist, but I've yet to find any.
Link:
It's the Burial Gcam version C, the latest one.

Kinda hard for me to find a working for the Exynos, since I have a Snapdragon model. I did a quick google search and IDan has some working ones but they dont have night mode. You can always do what I did and research, try a couple apks until you find one that you like. There are existing threads for Exynos S9+ Gcams as well.

It's the Burial Gcam version C, the latest one.

Strange, it works for me over several different phone.
Try this one: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-burial/
Its the top, one Version C. Most of these APKs are from the Google Camera Port Hub. Unless someone else modified them

I have an config file for it as well, it's not mine. So I didn't post it. But it's posted on a Telegram group for a completely different phone. I'll pm you.
Me personally I like using Hyper NEX, a modded Gcam variant
It makes reds and greens really pop out IMO (check out the attached photos)
It does struggle with selfies (automatically) as it makes them to dark
Technically you can edit them and add brightness and color back, but I just use another GCam variant for selfies lol
Snapdragon is so great in this regard, there are a lot of Gcam variant and mods
In my opinion, I say try them all out. You'll be pleasantly surprised and you'll find a style that takes them how you want them
If you're interested in Hyper NEX, here's the link to download it:

I've heard Hyper is good too. Currently testing out TigerCam to see if it's any good. Then I'll see about Hyper
Port crashes in full screen

When all set up, with or without the XML, I can't use the full screen option, only 4.3. It crashes when I switch to full wide. This happens in Urnyx05's port 7.3.018 2.2, 2.4, also. Is there something I'm missing? Or is it a bug? previous versions worked fine in wide screen.
