Video recording in H.265 - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

Hi. Is there any way, any existing mod to make our OP6 record video in H.265 / HEVC format instead of the good old H.264, lowering the bitrates mantaining quality? I've seen such a post for the OP5, but nothing for the OP6.

No audio in video mp4 video format

I am able to play this particular video file, but am not getting any audio. Is there a certain audio codec that I need to download?
File details: Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1264x528 23.98fps [Video]
Audio: AAC 48000Hz 6ch 4608Kbps [Audio]

It is because Galaxy S can't playback audio with 6 channels , i did not try this my self but that is what others observed.
Yes, I think it's limited to 5.1 channel audio encoded videos.
Also, that 4608kbps audio rate is awfully high.
Try using rockplayer and see if it works.
Was having a hard time w a video, wouldn't work in act1 nor the stock video player, worked great on rockplayer
Free on android market
Keep in mind Rockplayer is purely software player , it will not take advantage of phones Hardware acceleration , it will not play high resolution with good bitrate without dropping frames like crazy.
It would be better just to recode audio track.
I was just curious, because this was the same file that I had on my SD card that was in my BB Bold, which was able to play it???

Possible to increase video bitrate with stock camera app?

I find the video to be a little too compressed (artifacts visible) depending on framerate and resolution. 1080p 60fps just gives me 17mbit/s wich is really low.
So what do you think, is it possible to adjust the bitrate somehow? Maybe someone can decompile the app and find the line for that setting?
This would be really great!
Thanks for your answers!

Did another check to confirm this, so here are the bitrates:
2160p 30fps: 48mbit/s
1080p 60fps: 28mbit/s
1080p 30fps: 17mbit/s
720p 240fps: 72mbit/s
Audio: AAC 48kHz 256kbit/s
While the bitrate is ok for 4k video (still could be a bit higher), it is unacceptable for both of the 1080p settings. The colors really look washed out here and there are artifacts all over the video.
720p 240fps however has a pretty high bitrate, which is needed for the many pictures/second.
I would love to see ~40+ mbit/s at 1080p and a little more, maybe ~60 mbit/s at 4k.
Maybe someone with proper knowledge can look into this
Yes!
I also look forward to that!
Very much needed
Bump. Yes this would be awesome. You would think it was the camera app that needs adjustment... but I am not a dev so I can't be sure. Also, how about USB web cam tethering?
Just flash the camera mod zip from the mod section and increase all your bitrates instantly??

Is it possible to record videos in h265 codec?

Hi all!
Is it possible to record with h265 codec? I know a middle range phone (infinix zero 3) which does it very well in 4k format?
Any hack? Any app?
Thanks in advance;

Is a h265 video recording option mod possible?

4K 60FPS annihilates all my local and cloud storage in a few minutes due to h264 compression algorithm. Is it possible to mod the stock camera to record h265 video?

Video recording 'issue'

Hi All!
I have a strange issue when i recording a video with my OP6. The file size is very big in 720P, 1080P and 1080P 60fps.
I attached 5 screenshot from 5 different recording mode.
720P, 1080P, 1080P 60fps, 4K and 4K 60fps.
I have stock OOS 9.0.5 on rooted phone.
Its that a bug or something else?
I have the solution.
I installed an module for Magisk, that is the reason of the higher bitrate of the 720P, 1080P and 1080P 60fps videos.
