I don't have any version of the device yet, but I'm close to pulling the trigger.
But before I do, I just wanted to check.... Will the T Mobile version of the device receive the OTA updates, like this latest v9.5.7, along with non-carrier locked devices, or will there be a delay while TM puts together their own update?
usually all carrier locked devices take longer since the carrier wants their stuff in there
TMobile is always behind.

Well I'm only in 9.5.6 and that update just moved me from being 2 months behind on security updates to one month behind. Still waiting for camera update and I had to use a calibration trick just so I could fix the DTTW feature on this device. Honestly, as much as I like this phone, if you can avoid getting it through TMobile, I would recommend you do so. They will always be behind in the latest updates. That is the main reason why all my previous devices were unlocked Pixel/Nexus devices (minus a few outlier devices). I wanted to try something new and within 3 what realized why I moved away from carrier branded devices.
can someone explain the versioning to me? I bought my op7pro from OnePlus but I'm only on OS 9.5.4 with no updates available. How are other people getting 9.5.7 already?

Not sure; could be where you are on the map. OnePlus usually has incremental updates. There's always Oxygen Updater from the Google Play store. That will allow you to download 9.5.7 and install it locally as opposed to OTA.

@klym.software Since you purchased your device through OnePlus directly, you have the unlocked version which is on the 9.5.4 latest update. You have the camera fix and the DDTW fix. Those of us who purchased the device through Tmobile came with the 9.5.5 version, and were updated to 9.5.6. All that update did was move us from the April 2019 security update to May 2019. We are still not in June and probably won't be for awhile. We also still do not have the camera update fixes even though the unlocked OnePlus devices received the update 2 weeks ago. I hope this better explains the difference in version numbers.

You might want to check again. The T-Mobile 9.5.6 update was basically the April security patches not May, 9.5.7 for the unlocked version doesn't even have the May security patches yet.
About phone, click on Android version and you will see it's only April.

T-Mobile gets OTA 2 months after the security patch in international which usually gets them only one month delayed. I'm running 9.5.7 international and have April 1 security patch level. Since it's not a pixel, you have to wait for them to add oxygen stuff and test before releasing an OTA.

What's DTTW?
This reply to everyone else as well..
Oneplus 7 Pro is able to become unbranded and unlocked "quite easily", so if you need the financing plan stuff you get via T-Mobile, or anyone for that matter, it won't hurt too much. There's a thread around here to get permantely sim-unlocked with not too much wait and it worked for me. (Usually you have to wait 40 days and fully pay off phone for sim unlock). Then, there's the conversion to international OOS, which is a MUST. If the guide is too complicated, perhaps I could explain. After the conversion, you can simply unlock bootloader with "adb fastboot oem unlock" .

So is it normal for Tmobile and Sprint go get updates first?
Looks like they have an update rolling out starting last night.
Anyone get one on AT&T yet. Might jump per to Tmobile firmware if They get all the updates first.
Also what security patch is the U1 firmware on? I know Samsung made some promises after the unlocked S7 that they would be better at pushing out updates directly to that phone. If they get better with those updates I'd switch to that firmware I think as well.
Yes, T-Mobile & Sprint are faster generally.
As for Samsung's promise to step up support for the U phones, I guess it's too early to tell. With that said, however, Samsung recently pushed out the May update for the 935U which was a pleasant surprise. So far after Samsung's promise, the 935U has gotten the updates 2 months in a row instead of once every 3 months.

Looked at Firmware Finder but unsure if this will work with an un-rooted Mate?
Also, the reviews of the App seem rather negative and so I'm wary of doing this and then bricking the phone or running into problems.
Are there any other ways to get the Oreo update?
MHA-L29 (C432) here, fully stock. Got tired of waiting for the Oreo OTA so used Firmware Finder a couple of weeks ago. Running 8.0.0.366 now. Check some YT tutorials and do it, you'll be fine.
I prefer to update system software via OTA other than via any 3rd-party ways.

Likewise. Just remember sometimes for reasons only known to Huawei your IMEI might never end up getting approved and you'll be stuck running an unpatched outdated firmware version. Firmware Finder uses some DNS/proxying trickery to get around that, it doesn't tamper with your ROM/device in any way.
I got all OTAs before Oreo. By the end of March I had enough with waiting and successfully used FF to jump to 8.0.0.366. I would advise you to do the same if nothing has come through yet even if just for those security patches.
I got my phone through the 3 network. There hasn't been an update since November. I'm getting the impression they've just stopped updating this phone sadly.
I used firmware finder for the first time and found it easy and straightforward. Used the proxy method. I'm now on Oreo with march security update. Phone is quicker and battery life is better.
Was a bit skeptical about firmware finder myself but I'm happy with it after giving it go. Would prefer OTA but it's far too slow.

Oh, didn't know that TMO updated to 9.5.8. Still, OnePlus hasn't yet released June/July security patches.
Looks like they did with the 6/6T from what I was reading on xda? Either way 9.5.8 shows release on the 20th of June, but I think the T-mobile website has it wrong.
I switched from T-Mo to International when 9.5.7 came out. When 9.5.8 came out, I went back to T-Mo and I noticed that it was just a "security patch" while the International version's 9.5.8 patch had other updates included aside from the security patch, so I switched back to International and am on 9.5.8.GM21AA.

I was on A.15 since out of box, no OTA received, I have updated manually to CPH2025_11_A.23.
Now again everyone is talking about A.30 but no OTA for me even via VPN.??
Region is UAE. Model CPH2025 global, 5G and volte is working no issue...
Any clue why not receiving OTA at all.
Well this is there response to me.
Ino we are at are own risk installing these builds but not to have a dodgy rollback file that they send to us! So now apparently we all have to send are devices away.

Don't assume you've got a "bugged" version of software. Remember up until today those of us on A.23 couldn't get the update, even by using the VPN method but it didn't mean we had faulty software. Today the update then appeared for us as an OTA as normal.
Perhaps your A.25 version just needs to wait a bit longer and you'll eventually get the update sent to your phone as usual.

Google claims they released fixes last week but AFAIK nobody that has a 6A that is not a Verizon or Japanese variant has received the allegedly released update. It's also not posted on Google's list of factory images. I hope but am not particularly confident that Google will make things right later today.

Yes, I also successfully enrolled in the beta but no update showing.
Edit: Just took a few minutes after updating to June ASB. Its showing now and updating as I type.
I unlocked the bootloader and clean flashed the June AT&T/T-Mobile image. I then signed up for the 13 beta and installed. Did a wipe after installation. Fingerprint scanner is not working at all.

I thought the same. Turned out I had to push my finger down harder to register the print.

I'd love to see A13 for the P6a tomorrow. Then regular release date for the rest. We desperately need some immediate fixes tomorrow so why not give us the whole shebang

You have to factory reset after installing either A13 Beta or A12 June update. After setting up again you should be able to unlock.

Damn so I'm on beta now. I have to do a full factory reset!?!? Then I'll be able to do it.
Unfortunately, yes. As another mentioned earlier unlocking wipes everything anyway.
