9.5.4 Original:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=6006931924117889202
Instructions :
Download the patched boot image
Install the latest version of Magisk Manager
Reboot the phone in fastboot mode
Use the following command via command prompt :
Code:
Code:
fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img
fastboot reboot
The phone reboot into system now
Open Magisk & Install it again[Direct Install]
You've got a rooted OnePlus 7 Pro.

@Hot-Proton is camera working? And what are changes in this and original op7 rom? Could you please share a comparison?

Of course the camera works, why not? What does that have to do with the subject? This is not a full rom, its only the boot image. You see what i have changed.

I unlocked bootloader and now Google play says device not certified, was not able to get Netflix to work.
Tried factory reset, clear cache and storage of Gplay, Tried registering with google services framework id. Still couldn't got it working.
I have relocked the bootloader now.
Does anyone have this problem.
I have to go again with wiping everything when i unlock bootloader

You lose device certification and Widevine L1 when you unlock the bootloader. It's not a bug or anything. Flash magisk and you'll be able to use Netflix. But only in 480p tho. Because Widevine drops to L3 once the bootloader is unlocked.

Edited..

What about GM1901? 8/256 GB

Does Google Pay work with this? I haven't done this mod yet but I have unlocked my bootloader and now Google pay doesn't work.

Magisk hide doesn't fix netflix?
What is widevine?
What is procedure for rebooting to fastboot on 1+7?
You don't need to unlock bootloader for this?
Why do you need a patched boot image?

How to root the Oneplus 7 pro. Am i missing something?

I've honestly looked and the only one i see is to use a patched boot.img. I've also read that you can just install magisk and have it do its thing? I'm coming from a pixel 2 xl. As of today, what are the exact steps to root this phone? I bought mine right from OP and im also on 9.5.7. Thank you.

With TWRP flash latest Magisk
just making sure:

Best way to unlock bootloader is install the allinone tool, tap build number to get developer option, oem unlock, advance reboot, boot into bootloader. From the allinone tool choose your model, and click unlock.
Wipes u clean, then install adb fastboot terminal and make note where it installs. Download the magisk manager and install modual as zip. Pick a TWRP img and download it. I would rename it to twrp, put that file where adb fastboot installed and put a copy on ur phone. Open the command prompt in that folder and put phone back on bootloader. Type fastboot boot twrp.img...should say booting, reboots to twrp on phone. Click advanced, install ram disk, find that twrp img and install. Then go back back and installed the magisk zip you downloaded. When you reboot twrp should stick and magisk should be installed

Need help, T-Mobile Device (bypassed with international)

I flashed International Firmware
I flashed DP3

Try booting TWRP img nope doesn't work
I talk to people in TWRP they said its because fastboot commands arn't present on DP3 and to download magisk manager and patch a stock boot img.
Grabbed stock IMG from 9.5.10: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=294812

adb reboot fastboot
fastboot boot magisk_patched.img (FAILED)
fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img (Successful)
fastboot reboot

Did you try msm back to stock and start over?
Its a bit of extra work, but it usually works for a non-expert like me when I'm beyond my knowledge.
Also, iirc there's no reason to flash magisk if you're going to flash twrp cuz twrp unroots the device?
I would try msm back to international > unlock bootloader > fastboot flash boot twrp.img > flash twrp installer in twrp > flash magisk in twrp > flash your new rom in twrp.

I'm not sure where you got that info, but it's definitely wrong.
Tmobile has a standard unlocking procedure, or you can utilize something like this or this if your device is not paid off yet.
However... if you are attempting the dp3 unlock method found here, and as of right now you are still locked, its because you skipped the actual unlock procedure. Which is literally steps 1 & 2 in this guide, attached in the previous dp3 unlock guide.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...obile-one-plus-7-pro-msm-tool-revert-t3936528
Step 1- Download the file in the original post, create a folder somewhere you know where it is and extract the downloaded files to that folder
Step 2-Turn off your OP7 Pro
Step 3-Open the folder you created and right click on MsMDownloadTool V4.0.88.exe and select run as administrator, Once open uncheck sha256 check.
Step 4-Plug the Original USB cable that came with your phone into the phone.
Step-5-Hold the Power/Volume up/Volume down button until you see Connected in MsMDownloadTool, the instant you see Connected press start. You only have 5 seconds before it's too late so be quick.
Step-6 Once you see "Download Complete" in green in the Status of Communication box in MsMDownloadTool the phone will automatically reboot and you should have the TMobile splash screen and be able to set the phone up through the set up Wizard.
If you want to use Android 10 with service working on your T-Mobile 7 Pro you NEED to be SIM unlocked.

That process doesn't work for Android 10 (OB1 and OB2). With OB1/2 the fastboot boot command doesn't work yet (similar to all the 7 Pro devices when it was first released). As the top poster already mentioned the correct method to get TWRP on the device is to flash a patch boot image. Form there, he can flash TWRP within Magisk.

Right. What you need to do now is download the full latest ota, put it on root of storage. Do local upgrade. After it will boot into stock recovery do a full wipe. Reboot. Then you can install twrp, magisk..ect
This way worked for me ^
(I'm not sim unlocked btw)
If you use msm it will relock your bootloader!

Is there some benefit to keeping the sim locked? Getting the sim unlocked is so easy. Then you don't have to worry about the bootloader relocking, cuz you can just fastboot unlock it.

Exactly, like why go through the trouble of using certain methods of upgrading, etc. to avoid relocking If you can just go to one of the unlocking threads on xda, or just talk to TMobile support on Twitter and get sim unlocked. Like the whole process took me 30 minutes and now I don't have to worry about it because it's officially unlocked. Like, I've had my **** in a boot loop a few times, and being able to msm all the way back to stock and reunlock etc is extremely useful.

Download something called "minimal adb and fastboot" (don't have the link handy) and use that fastboot to do the following:
fastboot getvar current-slot
Whichever slot it shows, a or b, you want to switch to the other. So if it says the current slot is A, you would type
fastboot --set-active=b
And if it says slot B, then you want to set A as active slot. Then after it successfully changes slots
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Now when you're back to the fastboot screen after your phone reboots, the fastboot boot command on your twrp img should work fine.

Guide for installing TWRP on OOS 11 Open Beta(Upto closed release 11)

Backup first, that's a must as always.
If coming from OOS 10 base -
1. Flash OOS 11 OB1/hotfix, after its completion do not reboot
2. Install official/unofficial twrp recovery image to ramdisk from advance menu in TWRP
3. Reboot to recovery
4.a. install magisk(optional) and reboot
4.b. repeat 1 and 2, reboot again then, 4.a.
If already on OOS 11 OB1/hotfix-
1. Flash the attached boot.img from bootloader
2. Reboot to recovery from bootloader itself(booting to system at this point will result in bootloop)
3. Follow the process as mentioned for OOS 10
Thx to Soft_M for boot image
NOTE: Above method is not compatible with OB2
OB2,OB3, closed release users directly flash official latest TWRP zip
NOTE: Installing TWRP on OB3 with any given method will cause safety net to fail
man thanks, that saved me from a bootloop from magisk...

I had OB3 than I tried to "fastboot boot" latest TWRP to use PixelExperience. I got the QUALCOM message.

I will try to flash this one and see what happens. I was trying @mauronofrio unbrick guide, but it goes only until 10.3.8.

Bootloop (Stuck on G logo) Android 9 Magisk v23.0 first time install

I got a Pixel 3 that I've been trying to root for a while. I've got the bootloader unlocked (OEM unlocking). I noticed that my Factory image is 9.0.0 (PD1A.180720.031, Sep 2018, Verizon) and I'm not sure if the Verizon is the reason it's not working. That is definitely my current build though. I've tried making the image with both the stable build (Magisk v23.0) and the current canary build.
I was able to boot it again by flashing the main boot.img in Fastboot. I've tried installing it on both boot_a and boot_b together and separate and it still doesn't work. I've been using fastboot flash boot boot.img not twrp
Does anyone have any idea of what I can try or what I'm doing wrong?

Did you do the "fastboot flashing unlock" step (this will wipe your phone) to unlock your bootloader? OEM unlocking does not unlock the bootloader, it only allows it to be unlocked with fastboot.
Generally speaking, Verizon phones cannot be bootloader unlocked. However a few people have successfully unlocked new phones, fresh out of the box, that have never been connected to Verizon. It appears the bootloader is not permanently locked until the initial connection to Verizon.

There are several things you can try:
How are you transferring the the images between your phone and PC? MTP can corrupt files, so use adb push/pull or SFTP.
Since you are on Android 9, you should be able to boot TWRP without installing it. Copy magisk.zip to your phone, do "fastboot boot trwp.img", then Install from TWRP. If you use Magisk 23, rename magisk.apk to magisk.zip. If you use 19.4 or 20.4, just download the zip file.
Search the Magisk support forum at https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/magisk-general-support-discussion.3432382 for similar problems and solutions.
If all else fails, give me the md5sum of your patched boot image. I'll patch that image, and compare the md5sums to see if I get the same result.

Question [answered] Is a P11 Pro TB-J706F rootable if running Android 11?

Hello!
I just received my P11 pro and started to look for root methods.
I always found "recipes" for Android 10, not Android 11.
So: should i refrain from updating the P11 pro to Android 11 (and possibly latest & greatest version) in order to be able to root it later?
Or is rooting even possible with latest OS versions running Android 11?
Thanks for help

Hello,
thank you for assuring me, will update then and taking time on the weekend to get rooted
Good luck! Ask me if you will have any problems
Well,
there is some uncertainty in my mind which guide to follow to not loose Widewine / Google Pay capabilities, so if you have a "best root guide ever, housewife compatible" link i'd be glad
Thanks!
Ender
Ha-ha, "housewife compatible" you are joker.
Sorry, I not use GP and Netflix, nothing to say. Probably, Magisk have some module for GPay fix. Widevine is hard thing, no 100% solution.

Well, lets see, i don't have to hurry, i will read up.
Yes i saw that that some needed to "recover" Widevine by magisk...

Here you go
You have to unlock the bootloader
1. Enable OEM unlock in developers settings
2. Reboot in bootloader (adb reboot bootloader)
3. Enter
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
and answer yes when you're ready
WARNING: UNLOCK BOOTLOADER WILL WIPE YOU DEVICE!!!!!

I'm trying to connect my PS3 controller to Bluetooth and I guess my device has to be rooted (I've never done this to any of my devices but I do have an idea how to go about the adb method and use a host computer...I think). How do you patch the boot.img?
