Hey guys,
I just want to get straight to the point right now so the thing is that I am importing the OnePlus 7 pro from china and I know that the phone will work properly but it seems that some oneplus devices are dying after running a software update so is there any way where I can back up the old os like can I use twrp? I am well versed with roms etc but as this device is fairly new I do not know what to do....so just in case my phone's update fails(it dies) can i recover it some how? because warranty won't cover my device
MSM tool will recover your phone

Hi i am very new to one plus.
I have bought chinese version of one plus8 which sadly doesnt have google services. I didn't knew they will have different variant of os in different region .
I have seen lots of post and video flashing device frim hydrogen to oxygen within 2-3 minutes. I dont know what is boot loader or what does it mean to unlock it since i am very new.
Since i dont have PC to run whatever things that flash to oxygen i dont actually know. I just know that i can download a oneplus 8 build from oneplus webside and install through local installer. But i am afraid that my device wont work or sth. So i am here to get advice from those people who have converted their one plus 8 from Hydrogen OS to
oxygen OS. This phone ia so expensive and i cant lost it at the 2nd day of buying. Thank you
Hey,
I don't know if I'm publishing in the most correct subforum, since I'm new here on the forum, but I need some help from you.
About a year ago I bought the Samsung S10e and although my experience was good, I miss the stock android I had on my Nexus 5x (previous smartphone). On that phone, I flashed the Pixel Experience ROM to install android 10 verious times (since google only supported it until android 9) so I can say that I have some experience in the matter. The problem came with Knox, and all the impositions that samsung added to make life difficult for nerds who want to control their smartphones.
I am thinking of installing LineageOS 18.1 (unofficial) published here (I don't have much need for VoLTE and VoWiFi, I think).
My question is this: Despite following all the instructions that the ROM publisher wrote, there is still a possibility of something going wrong, a soft brick can occur or even worse a hard brick right? In soft brick, do I still have the possibility to recover it? What about hard brick? My phone's still under warranty until December this year. If I flash a custom ROM, will completely I lose it 100%?
I just want to know what I'm getting into. I don't want to keep a 500€ brick at home.
Thanks.
Look into Warranty Card that came with phone to find out what is covered in your warranty / when you loose it.
Personally think tampering a phone always voids warranty. And Samsung detects this!

You're right! I've looked into it and voids warranty unfortunately.. but thats to be expected, I just thought that you could revert back like you can do on some devices when you root, but seems like when knox is tripped, a fuse blows or something, making it impossible to revert back without them noticing the device was tampered.
I've flashed successfully an Android 11 based rom (lineage os 18.1) but then I wanted to try out pixel experience, which was on 10 and now I'm getting a Rev check fail Device 9 binary 8 message. Could anyone help me?
AFAIK an error like this indicates that the phone cannot use the ROM provided ( via Samsung's ODIN loader ) because the ROM is either not legitimate or is a version prior to the one currently installed.

Exactly what I understood from the error message. Do I have any options right now?
I can flash the recovery, but it doesn't let me access it.
Downloaded Samsung's Stock Android 11 One UI 3 firmware and flashed with odin while in download mode. Device is now booting correctly.
Hey!
Soooooo, I tried to update my OS to the most recent while rooted, but I accidentally locked my boot loader, bricked the software, tried to unbrick it, then later got hard bricked in EDL mode. I have tried using the MSM tool for the global version of the Oneplus 9 but it always ended up saying that the image didn't match or something (IDK the thing was in F’ing Chinese). This hard brick has gotten so bad that I cant even hold Vol up + Power to hard restart it. The screen just doesn't come on any more but is still recognized by my computer as a Qualcomm device. Does anyone know of a fix that doesn't include installing the Indian loader?
Model # LE2115 (OP9 Global)
I had a whole weekend of this a few weeks ago, none of the OP9 MSM tools worked but for some reason the OP 9 Pro Global tool worked. The catch was that my phone was now formatted as a 'Pro' Variant and wasn't functional. But at this stage the correct MSM tool for my variant (LE2110) would now recognise it so I was able to restore the phone using that.
This was a long way around the problem so maybe consider it as a very last resort, someone else might have a more direct route to recorvery for you.

I had to do the same thing. I am using a LE2113 and managed to brick my phone in a way where only EDL could save it. I came from the latest OOS (colorOS) firmware and tried to flash LineageOS when everything went south. I tried to use the Oneplus 9 EU MSM tool but this one did not work for me. Since there is no official EU MSM for the LE2113 the only way I could repair it was by using the EU OnePlus 9 pro msm firmware. It only worked with the "use lite firehose" option for me. After that was done I unlocked the bootloader once again and flashed OOS (Android 11) for OnePlus 9 again. This was the way I got the original firmware back on my device although I do not think it would've been possible to relock the bootloader at this point.
Straight after that I once again flashed lineage and everything is working fine now. Certainly a shady approach but it is the end result that counts I'd say.

That's the thing though. I had the LE2115 MSM tool but it was in Chinese for some reason I have a LE2115 phone as well but it said that the files didn't match up. Maybe they uploaded the wrong variant to the website? None of the tools that I had downloaded were in English, all in Chinese.

Recently bought a Oneplus 8 with Pixel 6 ROM on it, Android 12 Tiramisu pre-rooted. Got it for a good deal on ebay. Phone came in today with multiple problems. Will not detect sim cards, boots up with error "There's an internal problem with your device. Contact your manufacturer for details", fails every time I try to install a system update from settings. I can't do anything phone related with this which isn't really handy for a phone. I'm not familiar with oneplus. How can I get stock firmware and start fresh and do the root myself without making all kinds of issues? I have dug around for about an hour and can't find anyone with a similar issue. Thanks!
Find the device model (it should say IN[four - digit number here]), and locate the MSM tool for said model. That will restore you to stock firmware and hopefully relock the bootloader.
hi, i updated my phone to MIUI 13.0.3 android 12 and i've noticed a bug that made all the apps that are using the camera like instagram and snapchat take blurry pictures like an effect getting applied to the pictures taken by those apps (everything normal in my stock camera app) so i decided to use MiFlash tool to flash the previous android version on my phone but i bricked my phone instead i flashed a global rom while my phone is the chinese market version and accidently checked the ClearData+lock Device check box in MiFlash. the tool flashed the rom successfully but when the phone restarted it showed me a message saying that this rom cannot be installed on this device in recovery mode i couldn't do anything after cuz the bootloader got locked too T i tried everything to unlock it (mtk Client - bootloader unlocker+ adb fastboot + Xiaomi Unlock app ...). please help me is there any way i can fix my phone and what is the righ Rom to flash on my phone (Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G China (21091116C - Pissarro). thnx
friend I'm not a star I tell you how things are 1) you can't go back with another Rom only china 2) anti-roll-back 3) MiCloud you have to disable it you can try MiflashV2 there is also to unlock the bootloader it does everything even the firmware remember if the firmware does not start. important not only china also not china for updates remember first you do the factory reset put google account do not update any app except google drive backup with drive if it has arrived update it is better by setting the time instead of downloading the package the problem is when the update occurs it fails to close all active apps and then there is MiCloud that blocks. Best wishes and good luck and that I have little time for me too much trouble here in Europe.

currently my phone is stuck at the logo and after seconds it loads Fastboot automatically i cant access the phone os to do anything i used the xiaomi bootloader unlocker app that works online but it didnt work . the local cell phone service shops told that they have to open the phones back case to fix it ... i dont want that i've just bought the phone didnt even use it for a whole month
they don't have to open it they use licensed or dongle software (USB type) currently I use unlocktoll.net but if the phone is under warranty and you haven't removed the bootloader before it is better for you. It is possible that others have the same problem as you. Good luck

Rule number 1 for Xiaomi never flash anything on Mediatek devices, it will fail. If messed up, no way back as Xiaomi locks the devices for autorized service providers or local Xiaomi branches only. If you want to play with Xiaomi custom roms/development/etc. related only buy Snapdragon based devices.
I i.e. learned it the hard way, when this all started with the Redmi Note 8 Pro, I bricked it by flashing twrp in Android 11 and Xiaomi didn't want to repair it, so I had to pay some russian guy to fix it via Teamviewer with a modified unlock tool which was able to answer the unlock requests by pasting the answer manually from a generator. It's not like I messed up at a point, it's just that Mediatek devices easily fall in a unrecoverable state. In my term it was the combination of Android version and twrp. You will note there is no Mediatek support on xda and even when your device is named like a Snapdragon version, your device is offtopic here, because trying anything on it beyond unlocking the bootloader is harakiri
how to unlock my bricked Redmi Note 11 Pro 5g (Chinaissarro) Bootloader
Congratulation. Brick without unlocked BL :/
my opinion: you are done....
Some Xiaomi devices have pins on motherboard to
switch EDL, but i dont know with this device.
Try complaint and say something like: "my phone was upgraded and then i see only logo"

I did the same with my device. You can fix it using the MTK tools guide. Its lengthy but easy.
