Locked or unlocked bootloader?
I bought my phone in China ROM and it's widevine L3. Flashed Global ROM (India) but still L3. Does locking bootloader will change it to L1? Or installing magisk to pass safety net?

Unlocked. No,locking the bootloader doesn't change it,
Magisk has an option to pass Safety Net once installed.
Maybe the Chinese Variants only Support L3.

So only redmi note 7 pro from India supports widevice L1? That's unfortunate.
But I watched technology jock mentioned that RN7P only has L3 out of the box.
But I hope Xiaomi will be able to amend this in the future.

Maybe whoever you watched was using the Chinese Variant, but chill mate, Widewine is software based and certification from Widewine will get Xiaomi L1 if they want, so if enough requests are raised this could probably be fixed via an update.
Hi.
Has anyone here been able to get Chinese RN7Pro unit the L1 Widevine Certification yet?

Hi Everyone,
I bought the China version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro and I am wondering if it's possible to flash the Global or Indian ROM to it.
Can someone help me with Tutorial or point me in the right direction.
Thank you advance
Wrong forum. You should post your question to XIAOMI REDMI NOTE 7 PRO QUESTIONS & ANSWERS subforum.
What you need to do is unlock bootloader and flash your phone in fastboot mode using MiFlash and an Global ROM.
Hello all
I finally Unlocked my bootloader and flashed the Indian Version.

Thanks, its used to certify Netflix DRM and if you have L3, it means you cannot play HD 720p or 1080p videos in the official Netflix app.
of course patched netflix exist in XDA that allow for 1080p streaming. Its just that if the phone was original indian version it would have Widevine L1 certification.
I think relocking the bootloader may bring the certification to L1, Ill try that when i get my RN7 pro )

Don't do it.
AFAIK,
Locked BL should be only done with the original Rom, China or Global, otherwise your phone will brick.

What's the problem? I collected, for example, a firmware based on miui12.5 beta, translated it and didn’t seem to do anything special and it shows l1. look at this
Hi Developers,
Could you please provide some way to fix widevine certification? It is l3 in indian variant SM-A536E. See attached screenshot.

If you're using stock rom and locked bootloader with that issue then you're in the wrong place. Samsung devs are not here.
If you're using custom rom then you do not get widevine appropriately as this is a stock only thing. You'd have to use magisk to workaround it.
I got a Xiaoxin 2022 with unlocked bootloader.
Current ROM is
TB128FU_S000020_220309_ROW
Is there any way to get L1 and watch Netflix with a decent quality?
I flashed a different rom (global) but it wasn't compatible with my device, since it is supposedly for Chinese market only.
I've read that LE widevine is a common issue, but I haven't found a fix yet.

Do you know any compilation I could try?
Are the cn ROMs only ZUI versions?
You have to use Chinese VPN to grab the OTA update(s) which fixes Widevine issue with Netflix. If you have (fake) global rom and unlocked bootloader you cannot do this. Other members are working on getting their fake global rom back to Chinese official rom and re-locking bootloader to get OTA updates back. When they are successful and give a tutorial/download links, you can do the same.

It was already unlocked when arrived. I'll wait until we can safely relock.

Hello, I'm not from the area but I have a little knowledge, find out where the home country settings are located. But the difficult thing is to find a tool that makes it possible to change without rooting. I saw that this configuration is found in the build.prop file on Android, but it does not allow changes to this file, would anyone know how to make the change without performing a root?

Perhaps it's because you are rooted? I'm in stock One UI 5.1 non rooted, and according DRM info I'm L1. S22u Snapdragon.

but why would root change my drm? otherwise I also had L1 with root
I will continue checking to se if this changes, so far I'm L1, it would be good to check with others to try to diagnose why you are L3. Could it be related with other apps that you have also installed? I don't know.

Netflix beta releases tend to change the level to L3, but stable releases stay on L1. Check if it's the problem for you too.
I have the same issue on my S23Ultra, non-rooted with OEM Unlock not even available in Developer Options. I'm also not on Netflix Beta.
I'm sure I've had this issue before though, either on my previous S22Ultra or my Note9, I'm sure I posted on XDA about it too...
Edit: Just checked my posts and nope, my S9080 S22Ultra had L1.
Further edit: Rebooted my phone, uninstalled Netflix and reinstalled and I have L1 again.
I read another post somewhere that said L1 returned for them after a Play System update so that might be worth checking.
