First of all , you need a rooted S7.
If you own a qualcomm s7 usa variant and don't know how to root ( the v9 bootloader ), head to this thread :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79528528&postcount=1623
- if you own an exynos variant : root methods are everywhere, just do a quick search. I do not own it, i own a G930T
2- install this version of viper4android, it's the only working one i've found online, just grant root and click install driver , reboot, and enjoy.
NOTICE : i'm not the developper, i'm just a normal user and i just liked to share it.

Thanks for this. it would be nice if Dolby Atmos was this easy to install. Reason being people don't need a PH.D in Sound Engineering to get it to sound good
What if the drivers won't install?
I do have root (aquired with Magisk) and tried to modify the /system/build.prop, but the mentioned lines weren't there.
Any ideas?

If you have an Exynos variant I heavily recommend you to unlock your bootloader, flash Magisk and use the Magisk module instead. For Snapdragon users, this systemful installer is needed.

Hello everyone,
I just got my new S7 from Telus and my goal now is:
Root the phone
Install a clean stock ROM (bloatware-free)
Now I've been reading a bit but I'm a little unsure whether I'm looking at the best solution out there, or even if I'm on the right track.
These are the 2 options that I'm leaning towards following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/recovery-official-twrp-herolte-t3333770
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/sm-g930-exynos-cf-auto-root-t3337353
Can you tell me if the TWRP route is the best to follow?
Also, I can't seem to find a Stock ROM, can you point me to the right one for my phone? (Sorry, my searching and Googling skills needs an upgrade.)
Installing twrp wipes the phone, so you lose everything. If you install cfroot first on the other hand, you can backup your stuff with titanium backup and other apps and then install twrp and restore your apps at the end.

I'm ok with the wipe as I just got the phone today so I have nothing important there.
So would you suggest that I use TWRP over cfroot?
--Also, do you know where the right stock ROM is? I still can't find one.-- Oops, sorry I thought the link you have was part of your signature. I got my ROM now, taking a long time to download though. Haha.
Is there another download location I can use? I messed up the slow download and now I have to wait a long time just to start over with the slow download.
TWRP install does not wipe the phone. If you want to use TWRP to backup/restore data you have to format data (which does wipe the phone), because TWRP does not support the samsung encryption yet (no timeframe for this).
You could still use TWRP to install stuff on /system.
I would go cfroot and flashfire.
quick question here: I've got 930w8 from Bell (Canadian version). on https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ I Cannot see CF-auto-root root for W8 version.
Is it safe to guess that auto-root for 930f (exynos) will do the trick?

You can use Cf Auto root for G930F, is working
Hello!
Just wondering if this CF Root will work to root my device still?
It's April 4, 2017, so this thread is really old.
I've gathered that I can use CF-Auto Root G930F and have that downloaded..
I got my phone from Virgin and live in Canada
It's a Samsung Galaxy S7
Model Number : SM-G930W8 (LU2BQB6)
Android Version : 7.0
I'm trying to spoof Pokemon GO haha, and apparently I need to move some apps to a system folder or something.
First thing first though, figure out how to root.
Quite frankly, I'd be willing to send someone a couple bucks via paypal for any assistance at all.
I can tell you that cf autoroot for international model works on android 6.0.1, not sure if will do the job on android 7
S7 android 7.0 root
Is there a root for android 7.0 for an S7?

How to I enable the call recording button for my rooted SM-J327P ?
Two questions:
Where is that button found, I own a SM-J327P and have never seen that one.
Also, how did you go about getting your J3 rooted?
Appreciate any enlightenment.

Hi use the xposed module for touchwiz, Firefds Kit http://repo.xposed.info/module/sb.firefds.firefdskit It has the option to change the phone UI and add call recording, I can confirm it works hope this helps.
I would also like to know about the root method that you used (question for thread starter).
Yes I have the smj327p bootloop bootloader is locked I also have TWRP.
As far as root goes install twrp and install the latest supersu and the the patch by @ashyx in recovery, that's it.
Hi guys, I've been doing some searching but haven't found any clear answers on recent threads.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 G930A, currently running Android 8.0, I have developer options unlocked.
I'm looking to install TWRP, update BL/Modem, install Lineage OS 15.1, update GAPPs, and root with Magisk 17.2 with the hope of debloating preinstalled apps and increasing my battery life.
I'm having trouble finding the correct versions of things for the G930A, it seems like most options are for the F/FD, I found this awesome thread for those which I assume is incompatible with my device: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/guide-onelatest-stock-fw-csc-root-t3702963
Step one is installing TWRP (right?) but on their website under S7 has options for many models, but not the 930A. Is there another option that I'm missing or am I out of luck?
Thanks!
You're out of luck, TWRP and custom ROM's are only possible on models with the Exynos SOC which is the international 930F/FD model + Canada and Korea, as they can have their bootloaders unlocked.
G930A runs on Snapdragon with a locked bootloader (thanks to US carriers), despite the developer options unlock being visible, it actually doesn't do anything on Snapdragon.

Such a feat is not possible on the snapdragon version. Yes I know, their kind of scumbags for locking the qualcomm variants and only allowing the foreign versions with their crappy exynos chipset to be unlocked. It wasn't U.S Carriers that are responsible for the device being locked. Samsung locked it themselves.
Fortunately you can still root this device however, but you just cant install custom recoverys, boot logos etc,

Hello,
I don't use M12, but I know that M12 is a device that is very similar to A21S. (the only difference is lack of some sensors+nfc, addition of 90hz display, and bigger battery)
Recently, I was able to successfully root A21s with some modification to the Magisk app, to bypass a problem in the kernel that tricked Magisk into causing boot loop. After this, I thought M12 might have similar problems, since it is pretty much the same phone as A21S.
When I looked at the kernel source and boot.img of M12, it seems that it has the exact same problems that prevented A21s from getting Magisk to work on stock ROMs.
This means that when M12's stock ROM is patched with Magisk, it can cause boot loop.
Since I don't have the device, I can't test anything. Is there anyone who had successfully rooted the device with Magisk? (I saw one thread that gave instructions for root, but there has been no report that it had succeeded or failed)
Already rooted 2 weeks back but yes method is different. i used MagiskManager-v7.5.1 App to patch boot.img and it does only half work but yes we need to add extra steps like how new magisk version does towards packing boot.img manually.
note - the thread which you mentioned towards rooting will never work i mean you already mentioned reason.

You should patch the entire AP, or else it'll have some problems.
