Annoying battery charging animation on screen - Samsung Galaxy S8 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi.
Recently whenever I plug in my charging cable.
There will be a annoying battery charging animation on my screen.
As seen in the screenshot below. That circular animation with battery percentage in the middle.
https://imgur.com/a/MoPhG5Y
Can someone tell me how to disable it?
Thanks.

This is probably caused by some third party app or something, I don't have this on my s8. You should try deleting some recent apps you installed, one of them might be causing this.

Found out that this is a new feature in the latest DSE4 may update

This was part of the Android Pie update, there is no specific setting to disable this animation, however you can still disable it by removing the all animations of your phone, go to Settings>Accessibility >Visibility Enhancements, under Colors and Clarity you will find the Remove Animations options turning it on will remove the charging animation as well as the entire animations like switching apps or going to home screen, hope it works.

Thank you!
Now if there only was a way to deactivate the screen from turning on after the charger is pushed into the power socket...

[Q] Battery Full Notification - How do you Turn it off?

This is the MOST annoying thing in the world to me.
When the Battery is Full the Screen Comes on and puts this little Notification down at the bottom of the lock Screen.. Screen stays on a few seconds then 5 mins later it does it again..
Ive gotten to the point where I just cover my phone up at night. But there has to be a hidden setting or something to where I can disable this? Can anyone help out here.
Side Note : Ive already disable the "Sound" Battery Notifications. But thats the only thing I can find in relation to battery notifications.
There's a "Power Plug" application installed, but if you disable it (freeze) you'll also have to disable Motorola Services.
My bad.

[Q] Screen Freezing/Locking on Jellybeans build 11

I flashed Jellybeans build 11 a few days ago and have been having issues with the screen freezing/locking up 3-4 times a day. The LED continues to flash if I had a notification so I'm uncertain if it's just the GUI that's frozen or the whole system. A battery pull resolves it. I've also noticed that when I press the home button to turn the screen on, the screen is always oriented in landscape when it's frozen.
Has anyone encountered this with this particular build or ROM? Is it the ROM or kernel? Any suggestions to remediate? Besides this nagging issue, I've been happy with the speed and battery life of this ROM.
From the Beans OP under "Disclaimer":
"Aosp Lockscreen will force close when rotating if u dont turn all the options in the lockscreen menu off other than weather and clock! sence there not compatible with aosp lockscreen!"
Could this have anything to do with your problem?

Definitely! It must rotate sometimes before I lock it or it's turned a bit when I turn it on and causes it to do that. I did check the lock screen settings and did have shortcuts and ripple enabled. I've disabled this and will keep an eye on it. Thanks!
Great! Hope it works for you. I'm on this ROM and love it too
nooooooo
Yeah you have to disable all options except for time and weather, had this same problem

Just uncheck a checkbox to bypass lockscreen in Settings.

But it is unchecked. My pin request only appears when I reboot and when my device goes to sleep for a long period of time. Are we on the same page? I appreciate the quick response.
This mod only makes bypass option in Settings work also with Screen lock set to None, nothing else. What do you want to achieve?)

My bad. My 'Lock phone after' setting was set to '15 minutes'. Are you still working on the toolbox? I might have some suggestions/requests if you wouldn't mind. I love this toolbox, so much thanks for this.

Earlier I encountered a flickering screen when I was going to compose a text message. I tried to trace which causes this issue, turned off some of interface mods that I have enabled. But after disabling AOSP, it was gone. I don't know if you already knew about this. Then here's my kind of basic stuff I'm looking for, as of the moment. First is the possibility of adding your own double-tap-to-wake function or just integrating @kairi_zeroblade's DT2W with your toolbox. Second is I want to remove the alarm clock icon from the status bar even if I do have set an alarm time. Third, can you also add a colorized battery meter depending on the current battery level of the device? Maybe that's all for now. I will very much appreciate any comments regarding this ideas.
Edit: Can the LED notification lights change colors?

I don't use AOSP lockscreen, so no idea about any bugs related to it I'll test.
DT2W is not possible with ROM mods, only with custom kernel. Almost all such kernels support DT2W (elementalx, bulletproof, faux, teamseven).
I've already planned to add a useless icons removal mod (beats, headphones, alarm). Alarm seems the least usless to me
"Colorized battery meter" you mean as a line on top of statusbar or something like that? I think I saw a mod like this already as a standalone Xposed module or even as a regular app.
LED can be green and red on HTC One, don't know about other devices.

As for the useless icons. The headphones icon are actually useful in my opinion, it would help you tell if the headphones are connected/working properly because sometimes I plug my headphones but the sounds were coming out from the built-in speakers of the phone and had to deattach and reattach until the headphones icon would appear on the status bar. I prefer to remove the alarm icon still.
As for the colorized battery, I'm thinking of the battery bar, with or w/o the battery level % text, changing its color depending on the battery level. Like Green for 71-100%, Yellow for 41-70%, Orange for 10-40% and Red for <10%.
Is it only red and green for HTC LEDs? Cause I've seen mods for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 that allows you to change its LED color to different colors for different notifications.

Yes, HTC One at least. You need to read specification for your device to know for sure

Overlapping notifications

So i have been modding my phone for a month now and have found several bugs that make thinks kind of difficult. I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 (GT-S7275R) and installed the Cyanogen 12.1 mod and latest kernel from Kotzir. The problem is when i get a notification in the drop down menu, it overlaps with the menu and the other notifications. I understand that the transparent theme may cause this "trick" of hiding the notification behind a menu may cause it to appear behind it, but it should scroll with the menu anyways. And besides that, in the notification area the notifications overlap as well. The standard music app even has 2 notifications overlap itself. So i think there is something wrong with the grid of the notifications? Some counter that's stuck or something? Other than that, the phone is really stable and battery life has extended by 150% so i am happy, but i don't like to have to manually open every app to see what is going on, even more so if you can only open it by the notification like USB settings and such.
(i would like to post pictures but since i am new here i have to make 10 post before i can. i will as soon as i can, sorry for that)
Thanks in advance
Nevermind
This from can be closed, i moved over to android 6.0 CM13. It doesn't have the problem.
However a bit more information for other people who want to stay at the CM12.1:
1: The problem seemed to happen whenever more then one app had a notification. Just one app after a fresh reboot didn't cause anything.
2: If you pressed where the icons should be, you would still select it. This means it was just rendered wrong. This would mean the grid is fine, but there is a bugg in drawing the notifications properly.
3: Sometimes the menu would freeze and the animation would hang but the menu would still be pushed upwards when swiped up. The menu would freeze causing you to only see a stripe with a half gear and the other icons but just at the top.
4: The clock becomes visible after turning the screen 90 degrees either way.
5: Restarting the GUI via the settings menu should solve the problem. The icons still work just image swiping down with your eyes closed. swipe all the way down and press the gear icon to open settings.
Thanks to the admin who placed it to the correct category anyways.
have a nice day everyone ^^

Question Disable tap on all watchfaces

Is it possible to disable tapping on complications on all watchfaces?
I am asking this because when we tap a complication on a watchface, there is a tap animation (white circle tap indicator) and this little useless animation causes a lag and frame drop. For example, when I swipe up to open the app drawer, a battery complication placed right at bottom detects a tap and animates. This animation causes a noticeable lag before the app drawer opens up (the tap animation plays first and then the app drawer opens). This lag is annoying enough.
How do we disable tapping on watchfaces? I know some watch faces offer a padlock that disables tapping the watchface but my favorite watchfaces don't have padlock feature.
Please geeks, help me out. This stupid "feature" is making the experience really bad on my Samsung Watch 4
I guess this issue is present while using a 3rd party watchface, as I don't experience this issue with the Samsung watchfaces.
Could it be that the developers of the watchfaces need to ensure watchface can properly deal with the gestures?

Yes you're right. I was just wondering if we could disable taps on watchfaces altogether. Yesterday, taps on my watchfaces stopped working I don't know why, but it made the swiping up of app drawer smooth af since there was no ****ty tap animation. I wish it could continue being like that but when I re-applied the watchface, its default behavior returned.
I'm not sure if it will work with your watchfaces, but you can try disabling animations in the developer options. You'll still be able to tap the complications, but the animations should stop causing interruptions. This will disable other animations as well, so navigating the watch won't look as good, but overall performance and battery life will improve.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried this. It disables the animation but that white circle still appears which indicates a tap. So the latency still remains. I wish there was some way to prevent tapping on the watchface
I'm happy to tell you guys that I was able to edit the watchface myself. I decompiled the APK and edited the watchface.xml to remove the tap function. Recompiled and installed the watchface again. No more tapping and no more $hitty tap animation and ultimately, the lag is gone and things are now smooth af
