I have a Huawei Mate 10 pro and have been using it for about 9 months.
I used to have amazing battery life with close to 8-9 hours of SOT ( and still had like 20% remaining never really went too low).
Recently I have been getting a battery drain of over 20% per night even if the phone is in doze mode.
I tried every method of finding out the battery drain and could not find it, assuming its a system bug i reset the phone but it did not fix anything.
I have wifi scanning and data always on turned off , so it disconnects mobile data and wifi if the phone is not being used.
I have just factory reset my phone and am posting screenshots of all my battery monitoring.

Please help me identify what is causing this battery drain.

I just installed CM 11 on my xperia V but then I'm experiencing this terrible super fast battery drain. It's been 3 days. The first night I installed it it drained my whole battery while I was asleep. Usually standby time is great before I installed CM 11. Maybe its because of the sony stamina extended standby mode thingy. Last night, I reckon that it's probably because of the background process and the wifi, so I reboot the phone (so that all apps are killed) and didn't turn on the wifi. It eats 7% of my battery. Dafuq???
So, I checked the battery stats and 82% of my battery is used on android system. Then, I turned off location access. Brightness is at its lowest. It was on aeroplane mode. Bluetooth is off. I underclock the device to clock only at 1 ghz and i clear all recent apps. Only the wifi is turned on. I only left it for half an hour without even touching it but my battery went down from 100% to 93%.!!! Can you imagine?? This sucks. Can anyone please help me with this issue? Imagine after an hour my battery would be at 80%. That means i can only use the phone for 5 hours!! That is without any connectivity at all with slow processor and low brightness. If I were to push it to the max it would take maybe 2 hours of usage. I uploaded the battery stats included with this thread.
Evening XDA
My Nexus 5 is losing about 10% battery/hour and I am unable to identify the cause.
The battery software identifies the cause as "miscellaneous" and betterbatterystats shows no unusual activity.
I have ensured WiFi scanning is off, I have also rebooted into safe mode with airplane mode on and still the battery drains.
A factory reset has not cured the problem.
The top of the phone is a little warm indicating there is some activity taking place.
Also worth noting that the CPU states in betterbatterystats indicates the the phone is in deep sleep over 90% of the time.
This started 2 nights ago, I can see no app updates and have not updated the ROM in this time.
Any ideas or suggestion on what I could try next?
How old is your battery? A few days before my original battery crapped out, it was draining like crazy.
You could also try uninstalling Facebook, that helped battery peformance for me
The first screenshot is my battery life and as you can see Doze was applied but it still drained 10% in 8 hours. In the second screenshot of Better Battery Stats, it shows I have a lot of the phone being awake while the screen is off.
How can I figure out what is causing it to be awake and fix it?
Please let me know if you need other sections of battery stats or anything. Thanks

same things , im on on 10.3. it was pretty good during fresh install like 2 % in 6-7 hr. now 10% overnight drain everything off
PlusBeat installed? Had the same issue. No drain with it under 9, high drain under 10. BBS did not show this app. Found it only after freezing one app after another.
I really can't understand how you guys end up with these drains. Since I rooted I've taken about 7 updates to 10.0.2 , never wiped my phone and never encounter that type of idle drain. Check my screenshot it shows 0% drain in 6hrs with only 10% deep sleep which makes no sense at all. What's crazy is im trying to perform a battery test to get to 10hrs SOT with regular use but my uptime won't be accounted for in the battery menu because it starts calculating after you lose one percent. Thus the discrepancy in the screenshots
Some app is preventing your device from going into deep sleep. Facebook was the culprit for me.
Do you have a custom kernel installed? Something changed in a recent update & there's a service that goes haywire if you have a custom kernel & keeps one CPU core at 100% constantly. I found it in system logs as "vendor.oneplus.hardware.brain". My idle drain was over 4%/hr till I figured it out. See this post for how to stop it:

BIG PROBLEM
A brand new, fresh out of the box Galaxy S7 Edge [Exynos] (came pre-loaded with Oreo 8.0), merely 5 days in use is overheating (gets to 41°C) and draining its battery strangeley fast (about 1% every 4 mins whilst on 3G or LTE). No apps have been downloaded from the app store and there are only a few screenshots on the phone, other than that it's empty!
I first ignored the overheating when I set it up as by default it had been charging via fast charge so it was understandable. The first day the battery consumption was "ok" since it was just idle and i was bareley using it. The following day I connected to the wi-fi and I noticed it was draining the battery pretty quickly..almost 1 % every 7 mins even tho the screen was dimmed and most apps had been "optimised". I was also worried about the "cell standby" drain which was about 2% every 1.5hrs.
But things began to get out of hand when I began using the 3G connection to watch youtube videos, after just 8 minutes the phone became scorching hot to the point where I couldn't use it for a while. The battery percentage was falling ridiculously by around 1% every 3 to 4 mins, with the display on 40% brightness, apps optimised, background apps limited and all the other tweaks to save battery life being utilised. Location, BT, Wi-fi, NFC and auto-updates(GooglePlay) were all of and it was still getting hot.
Then I allowed it to drain completley to 0% but before that I disabled "fast charge" , it took 8 hrs from 2AM to around 10:14 AM to reach 100%...but this did not help the battery drainage as it was still the same as before. The cell standby reported 3% use in 12 hrs which is abnormal since other S7E( Nougat) users only got a hit 1% in 8HRS. I then came on XDA and saw that many other S7/Edge users that are running Oreo 8.0 were experiencing the same issue with no resolve... I have tried ALL of the following with not a single positive result:
1. Soft reset and wipe data cache partition. 》no difference made
2. Enabling "mid power save mode" to limit CPU speed and background apps . 》 still overheats and drains battery as before
3. Factory reset the phone (there was not much user data on it aside from 5 screenshots). 》did nothing to remedy the situation
4. Disabling any apps that might have been responsible for the overheating and battery drain uaing the Apps manager and the "app power monitor". 》no noticeable change
5. using the "Optimisine apps" option in the App manager
none of the above helped as the phone still gets very hot (when it is on 3G/4G data) and drains its battery much quicker than S7 Edges that were running Nougat a few years back.
AT THIS POINT I'M ALL OUT OF IDEAS AND YOU HELP WOULD BE GREATLEY APPRECIATED.

I recommend to update / flash latest firmware available.
Then install a battery stats app like Better battery stats (BBS), record an idle dump and post it in the BBS thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/app-2-2-05-oct-v2-4-betterbatterystats.1179809/)
There are some experts analyzing your stats and giving advices how to optimize your system to gain better battery life.
Hi, I'm experiencing a standby battery drain on my Xperia 5 III. I've just bought it, it's updated to A12, did a hard reset and software repair with Xperia companion. I lose around 1.5% per hour, around 12% per 8hours of sleep. Whether I have SIM popped in or not, GSam reports Mobile radio constantly working and it stops only if I turn airplane mode on.
I have Stamina mode on, 60Hz only, turned off mobile data always on in developer settings (although it shouldn't matter when SIM is out), smart connectivity is off, everything else I found that could be battery consuming I turned off.
Is there anything else I can do, besides flashing it again with Xperia companion? Or is this normal for this phone?
I suspect you're going to struggle to get a reply from someone that's performed this same test. My phone was charged to 90% 4.5h ago. I've used it for web browsing for about an hour since it was removed from the charger. I've never used Stamina mode. I have 120Hz display on. I use the Always On display with the clock and a graphic. Screen brightness is at 50%.
Battery is at 74%. I have done zero investigating about what has been draining the battery, as it strikes me as normal usage based on my experience with Xperia and Huawei phones.
I think you are right, the user base seems to be much smaller than I thought.
Luckily, my battery drain has improved, last night it drained only 0.90% per 7h of sleep, putting a SIM card in and turning Stamina off helped, it makes no sense but it fixed it. If I'm not wrong, as per GSam, my phone also went only into a deep sleep and never into light sleep, now it enters both.
I find that after a reset or an OS version update, the Xperia phones take a week or so to sort themselves out. I don't know if it's optimizing in the background or what. I have noticed this since my Z5, which I bought 5 years ago.
t an update today on my 5 III and after updating I have significantly better battery life and lower overall temps.

ive been using my xperia without a sim and the battery life is also terrible. i havent switched from my old phone yet.
is the battery life better on the android 12 update?
I can't comment on 11 vs 12 usages as I didn't use my phone on 11,only 12, but others already reported improved battery life on 12.
My battery life significantly improved after 2 weeks. I did recalibrate my battery, two times drained it to 0% and charged until 100%. I did apply all the battery-saving tips and tricks available and suspended whatever system apps I could. Depending on the usage, I could reach 7-9h hours SOT easily, probably even 10 with stamina turned on. Updates really helped this phone in every possible way. IDLE battery drain was the worse thing with it and now it varies from 0.20 to 0.70% per hour. Remember to close all the apps when you don't need them,.
In the developer options you can restrict the background processes. Had 4, now 3 selected.
My apps notify me reliably, I do not notice any difference, but the consumption in standby is only a third as high.
Everything else did not work for me.

Important, you have to set this Option after every reboot.
