Is there anyone else in the US who is having problems getting this update? I have the TMO LTE version, but cannot get it. I've been checking a couple times a day.

The website doesn't even show the last update. It shows an update for Tizen 3.0 dated 13 months ago yet mine updated to 4.0.0.2 sometime in the 2nd half of last year so the website is definitely not up to date.

Yeah that's why I said grain of salt. I really don't even think it's out for TMobile yet which makes sense since usually any device with a mobile radio takes longer on the carrier side than the wifi variant

Can someone help me unroot?
Super n00bster here. I rooted my phone awhile back in an attempt to some how solve the lag issue. Now that the 5.1 update is about to be released OTA by Sprint, I would like to just go back to an unrooted state. Any insight on how to do this would be greatly appreciated!

I completely agree. Freaking annoying too
Beginning to think the guy on s4gru.com was full of it and Sprint has pushed the update back for some reason. Or that guy is the only person in the US to receive. I called Sprint last night to ask when the update will be pushed and they just gave the blanket answer of "It's a staged rollout, we can't determine when you will receive it".

No need to. The phone is great straight out of the box. I have been rooting phones since hoc evos, and I'm finally happy with phones today. Additionally, once you root it, it's a pain in the butt to update the software and many other little things. So that's why

With the newest software, root is somewhat useless. Xposed may not work correctly, no OTA, plus note 5 has the electronic root thing, so when you tooth the phone, it is tripped and can never be returned to original state, thus, service providers will know it is rooted and may deny repair, replacement.

I see your point bit IMO rooting is better than stock. Xposed works fine, I like my Adaway and youtube ad block, other phone customizations etc.

You do realize sprint doesn't even remotely care right? They just ask that you have "stock" when you have a problem and need the device serviced. However if you are stock rooted this has no bearing whatsoever.

I don't think he's worried about Sprint. He just wants stock.
I've been on the hunt for a ROM for the Canadian G955W variant, but I can't really find anything. Anyone have any luck? I've always used custom ROMs on my phones, but have been left underwhelmed when it comes to the S8+. I've been hoping for LineageOS for the 955W but it doesn't look like that's happened yet.
Just give your search up. It'll never happen. Locked bootloader. Even if it does some day become unlocked it'll be at least a year or two away and by that time I doubt you'll have this phone. Makes no sense why the Canadian BL's are locked they've never been locked on any other Samsung phone before. I've had all the S phones previously and always got to flash custom roms.

or am I limited...? currently on A530WVLSBRH3 on Oreo... sept security update so it looks super recent.
looks like samsung cut the FM radio again... but this time we get to use next radio... no bad but not great. Couldn't use the "secure startup on boot" trick to work the FM radio app this time
thinking of rooting but it's a brand new phone hardly used so maybe I'll hold off on it for now. Would I be able to use your files if I wanted too?

I got the phone a few days ago and I've only had one system update. Currently I'm on 9.5.13 (Android 9). I've been reading that some of you are on Android 10 already. Running the check for updates does nothing for me. Are you all in some sort of BETA that I'm unaware of?

If some have Android 10, they are most likely on international firmware. update 10 hasnt released for US OP7 afaik
Use OOS updater if you are on the international version. If you are TMobile, you will have to wait on their slow updates.
