I unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and the official Rom. Installed the magistik and rooted the device.
Now when it asks for update and reboot instead of updating it goes to the recovery instead of updating.
Any idea in how to solve that ?
On my Note 3 installing updates never worked, it tried , failed and asked me to download complete rom ( newest with update included ). So I always istalled complete rom without wiping anything...
What TWRP do you use ? Installing TWRP did only last till first restart then it was replaced. On note 3 I used lazyflasher no dmverity.zip and TWRP stayed...

Hello,
I wanted to install a custom Rom on my Nexus 5 running Android 6.0 so I downloaded TWRP latest and unlocked the Bootloader and installed TWRP.
Now the OS doesn't bootup anymore and the TWRP starts but gets rebooted all the time.
Tried to install an older TWRP version 2.8.70 and sideloaded and installed Pure Nexus Rom but this doesn't fix the problem.
Wiping anything from TWRP gives error messages...
Anyonw can help please!?
OK I have the stock recovery now installed from Android 6.0 and the OS boots up with Pure Nexus... looks OK,...
Anyway what's the problem with TWRP now!?
I don't think so. TWRP 2.8.7.1 is working fine for months. Did you full wipe before flashing your custom rom? Did you flash something else?
U need to install twrp 2.8.4.0 first because twrp 2.8.7.1 can only re-write on twrp 2.8.4.0 or higher..its work fine for me at official google M

That happened to me way back when I first used TWRP. From the official TWRP thread:
"If you have just used fastboot oem unlock, you should let the device boot up normally first before trying to install TWRP."
I think if you don't boot fully once before trying to install TWRP, it loops like that.
Is it possible to instal the compatible cwm recovery at huawei P8max and how? I tried different versions using FlashFire and one apk with loader.zip, but without success. After rebooting recovery, i got some strange rescue screen with 2 faults: 11. recovery and 2: boot (update your system).
Unlocked Bootloader?
Why not use the working TWRP that existing?
same problem after b210 from dload on sd card it seems emui 4 does not support thre local cwm
@Hirs
I wrote already that i have a lot of problems with "working TWRP". When i flashed it the first time, it was ok, but later, rebooting sytem was not working, every time i was reverted to twrp screen. I flashed the stock recovery, then twrp again, the same situation.

Thats normal that you cant reboot to system sometimes with a installed TWRP, then you flash stock back and reboot.
You can easily flash TWRP do the things you want and then reboot to bootloader flash stock and use the phone.
I dont think there is a CWM especially for the P8Max, but you can try the P8 one.
ok im in serious ****!!.I had been using cm13 peacefully ,then i received cm14 update and now i am stuck.First update worked fine ,I used titanium backup .Then I installed the third update then things just went haywire. To mention i had cwm.
1.Phone wont reboot in recovery mode rather cm stock recovery.
2.official downloads wont update/install.
3.no .zip would flash in cm recovery.
4.cmw just vanished,but still rooted.
I Think i should mention on first cm 14 update titanium backup posed problems like root acess denied and SU bimary needs to be updated.I somehow solved it by instaliing new version of titanium backup.
Now i tried all methods to boot in cwm using rom manager and stuff,I finally went to cmrecovery and while browsing clicked WIPE PARTITION CACHE.AND NOW PHONE WONT REBOOT IT JUST HANGS ON MI LOGO .FASTBOOT is opening recovery also phone is charging but wont start HELPP!!!!

Hello,
Can you access fastboot?

Hi there,
Yesterday I thought it was a good idea to flash a new rom (I bought my 2S early so I had a chinese rom I wanted to get rid off for a while).
My device is already unlocked and TWRP worked like a charm, that is, until today and last night. I first tried to flash lineageOS (https://forum.xda-developers.com/xi.../rom-lineageos-16-0-xiaomi-mi-mix-2s-t3862712) and to my surprise it didn't boot after that, it just straight went back to fastboot.
So I flashed to the original rom (https://en.miui.com/download-343.html) using the fastboot method and the MiFlash program. My phone booted up again, but when I tried to flash Magisk to have root it got stuck and went straight to Recovery this time (as opposed to fastboot).
Next I tried to flash again using fastboot and then flash the rom I wanted (lineageOS). This time, lineageOS showed the boot screen from that rom, but it got stuck there for almost 5 minutes and then I decided to give up. Now, no matter which twrp or rom I try I either end up not being able to boot it and if I do I cannot flash Magisk for root. Is there anyone who has a solution? Everyone seems to be able to install lineageOS just fine... Thanks!
Here's what I tried so far:
- Flashing original roms (older versions too)
- Using fastboot format data, system, cache to remove all data instead of just using TWRP
- Flashing 3 different unofficial roms (neither worked, all were stuck in their respective bootscreen for at least 5 minutes)
When flashing magisk try this method from NOS_bzone
Hope this helps
Seems like I'm having a quite similar problem.... https://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-mix-2s/help/boot-installing-custom-rom-t3868623
I managed to flash the global official rom + Magisk by these steps:
Download official rom (from: https://en.miui.com/download-343.html) (I used the fastboot method, clean all, NOT clean all and lock)
Download magisk
Download MiPa kernel: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-mix-2s/development/kernel-mipa-kernel-t3831437
Flash the rom first using fastboot and MiFlash, then go to TWRP, then magisk and then MiPa (it will retain magisk)
After that I was able to boot and retain a successful root. I don't know about custom roms at the moment, but at this point after working on it for more than 12 hours, I don't feel like trying
I have two devices where install TWRP dont work.
They are unlocked and i try many times to flash it via fastboot but booting into recovery ends in stock recovery.
Is there any solution to install TWRP or lineageos another way?
it was the issue that recovery is overwritten on stock rom start if the system has ever made an update
