Hi guys.
I did a stupid move few weeks ago that make me pain in the ass!
I would like to perform a clean Windows 10 installation by removing all partitions including annoying hidden recovery partition.
Plus, I TURNED OFF THE XHCI FUNCTION IN BIOS!
As the result, I don't have any OS to boot, nor getting into BIOS.
With this model (I'm not sure if other similar Windows tablets are the same or not), if EFI partition is missing or USB EFI bootable disk attached, tablet won't let you enter BIOS!
For sure, you can use touchscreen to control cursor. But YOU CANNOT ENTER BIOS even you can see it on the screen (by pressing volumn up and power until power up)!
OK. I cut the crap. I tried to search every forum and called up to customer care. There is not an proper answer to let you know how to reset bios (not reset the OS).
Here is the trick:
1. Power off the tablet completely (long press power button until shut down)
2. Hold down Volumn UP+ and Power key until power up.
3. You will now have the screen with <enter setup> prompt, which you cannot click it to get into BIOS.
4. Hold down Volumn UP+ and Power key until screen off and KEEP PRESSING them, until you have the screen back on with the prompt telling you BIOS is reset and ask if you would like to reset the date and time as well.
That's it. It is that simple but nobody post it online that help others.~
Hope this help you all.

Yesterday i got a customer with CELKON CT1 TAB running on android 4.0.4, locked out asking for Google user login (resulted in multiple wrong patterns entered to unlock). I searched the web and was able to figure out what to do when this happens. Well USB debugging mode was disabled too. Only way was the RECOVERY mode.
1. NOTE: Apps and app data will be formatted. But data on SD card will be safe.
2. This tab does not have hard volume buttons.
3. Switch off the tab and then hold BOTH VOLUME SOFT BUTTONS and the POWER BUTTON.
4. When you see the android logo. keep on holding both the volume buttons and release the power button.
5. A screen pops up saying something abt encryption and you need to reset to factory settings.
6. Click on OK. The tab does its work and restarts with factory settings and apps.
7. Done. Use your google account to setup the device.
I hope this would be helpful. I spent a lot of time pressing the reset button near the mic, with a paper clip. It simply wont get into recovery mode. Its just like a reset button on a PC.
I HAVE SWIPE 3D LIFE+ TABLET WHICH IS LOCKED NOW. i forgot my pattern lock and i didnt mention the gmail a/c also.....
i want to hard reset/ wipe data... i tried volume - power, volume + power both volume + power... but it didnt worked...
Swipe 3D Life plus tab -- hard reset
Hi Everyone,
I know how troublesome it is to unlock a Swipe 3D life plus tablet. Truly speaking . there is no way to unlock it other than hard resetting it. Even if your tablet is under warranty, the company through their service centers charge you around 250 bucks which is quite annoying.
After a lot of attempts, i figured out the way to hard reset it. It is exactly the same as you would hard reset a Google Nexus 7 tab.
So here is the procedure (follow carefully)
1) Switch off your tablet
2) Your tablet has only three buttons, one for power and a combined button for vol - and vol +.
3) Press and hold Power until the device powers on, then immediately press and hold Volume Down(while still pressing Power).
4) Within a few seconds, it would say: Encryption unsuccessful and you can find a menu on screen saying "Reset Tab".
5) Just select that "Reset Tab" option. it would show android logo (do nothing , just wait a couple of seconds)It would automatically shutdown and boot up again.
6) This time it will take a little longer to load.
7) Finally It will prompt you to the home screen.
Hope this helps !!!

Thought I would share my experience with this PITA tablet.
Just spent a few days scratching my head trying to factory reset a Lexibook Barbie MFC190BBEN model Android tablet.
It belongs to a 7 year old girl who put a password lock on it for some reason then forgot her password (much to her Mum's annoyance).
The Lexibook support site suggests going into settings and selecting factory reset.
Obviously this cannot be done as the tablet is locked so their next suggestion is to send it back for 'out of warranty' repair!
Some serious googling got me as far as recovery mode (sort of) which involves the reset button being pressed with a paperclip whilst pressing the power button and volume up at the same time whilst connected to a pc via usb.
This gets you a blank tablet screen, adb access but no fastboot and the adb is very limited and stops responding to simple commands.
It uses a Rockchip processor but most of the drivers do not give a stable connection.
After lots of trying to get stable connections so I can push a custom recovery (or get anything at all to talk to the damn tablet) I found that if you disonnect the usb cable and reset the tablet with the reset button you need to hold BOTH volume buttons then press the power button for a couple of seconds..keep holding the volume buttons and you should get the Android robot with a red exclamation mark.
From here I reconnected to the pc and adb could now see a device in recovery mode but with a serial of 0123456789ABCDEF
Still no joy with any adb commands....
Just a few reboots to blank screen again with no adb.
So I reset again and held the two volume buttons to get back to the Android with red exclamation mark again.
Some more googling found a different type of Rockchip based tablet that suggested NOW pressing the power button and volume up quickly..........
Well it turns out this tablet DOES have its own recovery!!!
No amount of googling told me this!!
So after days of messing about with drivers and button presses it turns out it is a simple task to reset from recovery.
You use the volume keys to choose from the minimal options in the recovery menu and use power to select.
Due to the amount of googling I did with no answers that worked (or even came close to an answer) I thought I would share this in the hope it would save someone else from pulling their hair out and keep their child happy!

you're legend, mate ... I've been trying to put google services and youtube on it for ages. Now it seems it can be done!
No mater how i press the buttons the android robot never appears just the normal start screen please describe the key pressing combination again
Press the reset button with a paperclip whilst you hold BOTH volume buttons then press the power button for a couple of seconds.
Keep holding the volume buttons and you should get the Android robot with a red exclamation mark.
NOW press the power button and volume up quickly..
This should get you into 'recovery'
Thank you. I ll give it a go. Do you know who makes the barbie tablet? I would like to get inttouch with them if it doesn't work.
Hello,
I think I might be at the end of the road with my tablet. I've never rooted it or tampered with it in an way, however yesterday it locked up so I did the usual soft reset (hold power and vol+ for 10 seconds) I then turned it back on and the sony logo popped up, but there it just hung. If I press and hold the power button it switches off, a brief press on the power button brings it back on in the same state. So I go Googling, including looking at threads on this site, all seemed to advise to try to get the Android recovery menu up. on the Sony this is done by holding the power and vol+ and then releasing the power button (only) when the son logo appears (this process to be started when the tablet is off) so I did this, and no response at all. Worse than that, where it would turn on and instantly hang, it now doesn't turn on at all. Hooking it up to my PC I can see the device in device manager, but it tells me my usb device has malfunctioned.
At the moment, my thoughts are to open it up, to:
1. Check that the power/volume buttons aren't stuck in some way (preventing the boot command being given correctly)
2. Remove and resolder if necessary internal battery to force a power cycle.
3. Bin it and get something new (it is 2.5yrs old so no big loss i suppose)
Any ideas where to look or similar experiences?
Thanks

Good day !
Hi All,
Recently I ran into power button issues. Long story short, tried to fix it and made the matters worse - no more physical power button and I doubt it'll get fixed.
The main problem now: how do I set up the phone so I could power it on without the physical power button?
Any ROMs or tricks to overcome this?
Is it possible to quickly customise a ROM so that a 'volume down + up' would be interpreted as a power button?
Thanks,
Gin
The "power on" function is "physically" bound to the power button, so you cannot use other buttons. It's like using some Windows app to power the computer up by clicking a mouse button.
You can however connect it to a pc so it will start to charge and hold vol-, so you get into fastboot mode and can do "fastboot reboot"
Thanks for the reply.
Hm, I thought fast boot requires Volume + Power combination. Didn't work for me.
WIll take it to the repair shop tomorrow. Hopefully I haven't managed to mess it up completely.

if its turned off, connect into pc pressing volume down, then open a cmd on your pc and use fastboot reboot.
then setup volume rocker wake (a lot of roms supports this, incl some xposed mods if you use xposed)
@ginsul
What others have mentioned will work.
I will break it down.
1. Plug the phone via USB to a PC.
2. On plugging press and hold volume down.
3. The phone will now to bootloader.
4. Let it be that way and move to PC.
5. Open cmd.
6. Type in "fastboot reboot"
7. Phone will reboot from bootloader to system and you will get to Android OS.
8. Look for a way to awake the phone with the volume keys, it's totally doable.
N. Go to an LG svc and get the button only replaced, they do it here in India for around 5USD and it makes you feel a lot better.
Update: playstore has a lot of apps doing the volume wake thing.
If you can't find fastboot mentioned in step 6, then Google and download "fastboot Android". Navigate to the download dir and then try step 6.
Cheers
It really works! )
OSX couldn't find the device. Tried on Ubuntu - worked flawlessly.
Brought it to a usable state with Gravity Screen. Just need to be careful with the battery levels.
Thanks!
