Hi!
I'm looking for a solution for dng raw capture whilst running CM. (currently using the TS rom, but I wouldn't mind swapping for this) I tried the Oppo camera located elsewhere on XDA, but the raw module is only producing jpegs. I know that it's possible, because FreeDcam is creating perfectly working good dng files on the mi4c, the problem is that it's not focusing well on my unit (aka it gets the focus wrong 85%+ of the time) The Snapdragon camera supplied with the current TS cm13 version has raw capture, except the .raw files created cannot be opened with anything Did anyone have any success at all creating readable raw files on the mi4c?

Yeah I already tested it. It's an improvement, but it's still slow & unreliable opposed to any other camera app that I've tried. (I do understand that the app is still in alpha, the fact that the raw capture works on the mi4c is already fantastic by itself)

Manual Camera needs camera api2 to do this, which the Mi4c does not support.

According to him, Bacon camera works on Android 5.1-based MiUI. I guess you can try CM12.

i don't understand your comment. I know what dng is and i also know that there is a qualcomm .raw format that for example Snapdragon camera uses. FreedCam supposedly converts that format in app to dng.

Sorry I didn't know that...
On OPO (SD inside ) , it's a DNG file.
The definition or Raw, is "raw data".
To convert, there is adobe DNG converter. But it's just if your development software does'nt support your raws.

Nope. Unless someone ports freedcam's source code to do that. I tried many things to make snap raws work for me, but the best outcome was a rough outline of my subject with weird lines and colors.

you too can swap to TS cm13 and use FreeDcam.
UPDATED - NOW WITH STABLE 30/60/90/120 FPS IN LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS!
NOTE! YOUR DEVICE MUST HAVE UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER! THIS INSTRUCTION ONLY FOR SNAPDRAGON VERSION PHONES!
Instruction for android nougat(TWRP):
If you want to record smooth 60(90) fps fullhd and 120fps hd videos with clear stereo sound and stabilization, follow these several simple steps:
1. Okay, it is supposed, that your device has unlocked bootloader, installed usb drivers and last fimware on android nougat or android oreo.
First of all, go to camera settings and wipe all data from system camera app, then download all necessary files from my GoogleDrive folder "ALL TOOLS" HERE.
Copy all files on your sd card except recovery.7z
2. Unpack recovery.7z on PC in any folder.
Turn off your smartphone and enter fastboot mode(vol- and power on), connect your phone to PC and run boot_twrp.bat from "tools_r25.0.3-windows (2)" folder, follow instructions on the screen.
Wait for running twrp. (TWRP recovery won't be flashed on your device!)
P.S. Pass this step if u aready have flashed twrp recovery before it.
3. Tap install, and flash: Camera_2API_addon.zip => camera.zip => sound_fix_redmi_note4x_v1.zip=>BOLTiSHok_60-90_FPS_FHD_s5k3l8 & fiks cvet-90moto_60gcam&snap.zip(for samsung s5k3l8 sensor) or BOLTiSHok_superFPS.zip(for all types of camera sensor)=>( and MIUICameraBraviaV4.zip if you want replace miui stock camera app with modified one)
back to previous menu and wipe dalvic/art and cache
And finally DO NOT FORGET FLASH lazyflasher-no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip !
Reboot your smartphone and enjoy smooth video 60 fps recording with clear stereo sound with snapdragon camera.
Note. Your default media profiles will be replaced with modified ones and all camera apps now using h.265 codec with fix for sound recording.
P.S. And of course 60 fps recording requires a lot of light, so unfortunately you can not make a video inside buildings with low light.
Also, I noticed some glitch, when i try to switch between 4k and 1080p mode with enabled stabilization, so i recommend to turn it off before changing resolution in video settings. + slow mo 720 p recording seems not working, but it works in miui camera
Okay, Now you can record with stable 30/60/90(for FULLHD)/120 fps(for HD) even in low light conditions!
Original libs for turning back also added.
All video modes(for samsung sensor) atm are:
4K/1080p 30FPS
FULLHD(60/90 FPS), HD(60/90/120 FPS), Front Camera(HD 60 FPS)
SLOW MOTION: FULLHD(60/90 FPS), HD(60/90/120 FPS), Front Camera(HD 60 FPS)
Slow motion video sample in 1080p
Instruction for android oreo and android nougat for all sensors(MAGISK) without sound fix and snapdragon camera:
Use magisk modules from my GoogleDrive folder "ALL TOOLS" HERE.
There are 2 types of module:
1) For Android Nougat and Oreo(non treble)
2) For Oreo(treble)
======================================================================================================================================================
Now u can record 60 fps video with GCAM
======================================================================================================================================================
Warning! Upgrading your fimware is accompanied by erasing "/system" partition, therefore you have to repeat all steps from instruction again!

I was waiting for your thread since you announced it on 4pda, let's see.
I have some questions.
I am on LinageOS, do I have to flash camera2api again even though I already have it enabled?
Can I still install the modded Google camera without having any conflict? No conflicts with h.265codec?
Is this the MIUi camera which works on custom ROM? Does beautify work?
My biggest concern is the Google camera. I don't want to mess it up. Your post says snapdragon camera will be installed right? So recording in 60fps will only work on that app and not others?

I cant say how it works on lineageos, because i have never installed it.
If u have camera2api enabled already, so obivously u do not need to flash it again.
I have installed miui mod camera, gcam and snapdragon camera together, all apps using the same h265 codec and i dont have any conflicts, all works pretty well.
I shot several videos in these apps and only snapcamera allows to record true 60 fps.

Shortly ur profiles for sound and video will be replaced, thats all. If lineageos has the same paths for these files, so it should work.

That sound fix is the file with media profiles?
it enables hevc video recording, and he-aac audio recording.
updated versions: increased audio bitrate, it records around 125kbps
there are 3 version, pick whatever you want (in first version i uploaded, there was only 24 megabit)
personally i use 24 megabit version on my phone
for a normal user i recommend 24megabit, very little quality loss, unless you zoom in and compare pixel-to-pixel, you wouldn't notice, also i couldn't believe but in some cases it records better than 42 megabit (original oos bitrate), and faster upload to youtube etc.
you can also select 42 megabit, it records better than stock h264, and if you render your videos, it should be a better option, since you will compress it more. or if you just want h265 choose this because i haven't touched bitrates except audio
32 megabit version is for option, it should you give balance between quality and size, it seems okay.
24 megabit version
720p 8mbps
1080p 11mbps
[email protected] 22mbps
"2k" 12mbps
4k 24mbps
32 megabit version
720p 10mbps
1080p 15mbps
[email protected] 30mbps
"2k" 16mbps
4k 32mbps
42 megabit version (this is phone's original bitrate)
720p 14mbps
1080p 20mbps
[email protected] 40mbps
"2k" 20mbps
4k 42mbps
based and working on oos 5.0.2 to 5.1.0 incl. OB6 (same base file in all of them) op5t, it may work on 5 but im not sure, try it
not supporting any rom else than oos oreo but you're welcome to try and post results
720p,slomo,"fastmo?",1080p,60fps,4k,front720,front1080, everthing records with hevc and heaac
to install this mod USE MAGISK 15+
if you used my old version and want to go stock, download stockmediaprofiles.zip and copy the file inside to system/vendor/etc
and i recommend open camera, you can record 4k videos on front camera and it's quality is REALLY better than oneplus' camera app's 1080p, enable camera2 api and select 4k in video recording settings while on front camera.
also you can adjust bitrate of video (up to 100mbps) and jpeg quality of photo, it is a really good app.

Very strange, it should not have that kind of error because its not that critical file, at most it can mess with your video recording and crash camera using apps, i dont know why this happened to you, restore original file with twrp, if you dont see system files mount system.
It works just fine. I made an Magisk module only for my use, but can't share it since I used somebody else's template.

Okay. The difference between this and the default camera is insane. Night and day I tell you.
looks bad compared to open cam and 4k camera pro I use the 4k program it can do the same bitrate but looks like the quality it says use one of those instead and it maxes at semi 4k which is 1836
but like I said those programs look way better so 1080 really looks like it with this it doesn't
I cant install it on my phone
Has anyone tried using GCam on the Poco M3?
I didn't find any version with video working yet, however Wichaya's port (based on Urnyx05) seems to work for everything else, as long as you force-enable Google AWB.
Wichaya GCam APKs - Google Camera Port
Modified Google Camera app by Wichaya.
www.celsoazevedo.com
As a small update, I find Nikita's port a bit more stable for this device.
The video preview even works, but still unusable (result video is sped up, whatever the fps you set up). Same thing for night shots.
Like Wichaya's version, you need to turn on Google AWB if you don't want a completely green photo.
Nikita GCam APKs - Google Camera Port
Modified Google Camera app by Nikita.
www.celsoazevedo.com
Wichaya's Port kinda works. but it is still laggy.
I hope some developer can develop a much better port for Poco M3
Did you already tried the latest cstark27's gcam mod? And can you try the older P3v12.6_GoogleCamera_6.2.030 version? It's the best mod for my current device (Zenfone 4 with IMX362 sensor).
Also, I will be glad if you can tell me the camera sensors name that Poco M3 has. You can discover it using the app Device Info HW. Thank you!

Did you already tried the latest cstark27's gcam mod? And can you try the older P3v12.6_GoogleCamera_6.2.030 version? It's the best mod for my current device (Zenfone 4 with IMX362 sensor).

Just received my device today. Here's a screenshot of the camera specs.
Edit: Looks like the main 48mp is the same as the Redmi Notes.

As a small update, I find Nikita's port a bit more stable for this device.
The video preview even works, but still unusable (result video is sped up, whatever the fps you set up). Same thing for night shots.
Like Wichaya's version, you need to turn on Google AWB if you don't want a completely green photo.

You sure? When I use your config and record a video, the result is still sped up / lags.

The latest one (7.4 v2.0)
Wichaya's GCam Go is a fully working port on the M3, even video and night mode work.

Somehow none of the above let me do video recordings. However this version works with every gcam option
Nikita: NGCam_7.4.104-v2.0
Download NGCam_7.4.104-v2.0 by Nikita.

Curious to see if a suitable config file will pop up for our m3 any time soon.

That's technically the second link I posted, but a precise version of it.
However video does not work on this version for me, only the Camera Go one works.
As usual some weird things happens on MIUI devices, probably depending on global/EU...
Video works perfect for me. If you has change something on the configuration, back the original config.
Poco M3 global.
