Im seeing people are rooted and stuff but i dont see anywhere how to unlock the bootloader and root the phone? I have the GM1917 version right from oneplus. Thx
I have the one from TMobile. I got it unlocked but need to get this stupid unlock.bin file from them and it takes weeks I'm told. If your phone isn't TMobile... You should be able to flash TWRP to the b slot and root with magisk. It's what I was going to do until it told me I cannot just OEM unlock from bootloader menu. Boooo
Turn on oem unlock from developer options then put phone in fastboot mode and connect to PC. Fastboot oem unlock is the command you'll run.

Hi, I have the T-Mobile H830 Variant. I'm try to relock my bootloader because I have to take it back soon. I've already fully Unrooted my device but my bootloader is still unlock. I was wondering did anyone know of any way possible to relock the bootloader. It would be much appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!
I'm wondering the samething. Might have to do it the same way you unlocked it. I used fastboot to unlock the bootloader. How did you unroot it.
Boot to fastboot mode then thru an adb shell, type the following: fastboot oem lock
Note this will erase your entire device.
So I got my new U12+, bought the unlocked version, I'm pretty sure when it updated it became locked??
Anyway, went to HTCdev to unlock and I get this message when I try
Security checking failed DENY
Shows it as locked S-ON
Should I reset it then get S-Off?
Sounds like you might be confusing a few things.
The Unlocked version is the sim-unlocked. The boot loader will be Locked S-ON. Two different things.
Now to unlock your boot loader to run custom software make sure you follow the steps exactly on HTCdev website.
Get your token key while in Download Mode, copy and paste the correct parts. Then unlock once you have the correct unlock token bin from HTC.
Unlocking your boot loader is all down while in Download Mode. Make sure your have OEM boot loader unlock enabled in Developer Settings.
What a dummy....
OK, de-bugging on and OEM unlocking is enabled.
Tried the steps at HTC and got no response from the phone after typing the get identifier command
I'll try again
BTW, is it just me or is it a pain to get the button sequence just right?

It's annoying. But if you have adb on your computer with Debugging enabled within Developer Settings.
adb reboot bootloader
Thatll save you a few a minute or two
OK, so now I'm stumped again,
adb reboot bootloader
phone reboots as it should
fastboot oem get_identifier_token and nothing
<waiting for any device>
Never Mind, took a few tries and new drivers, we're good to go!
How were you able to resolve it? what drivers should i download? I tried twice and i am getting the same message:
Error Code: Invalid Bootloader Token Length.
Error Reason: The submitted Token appears to be the wrong length and won't work.
HTC u 12 Plus . android 9. adb and fastboot installed on a mac os mojave
I have a SIM unlocked Oneplus 7 pro T-Mobile version that had gone through the process of unlocking boot loader with adb and fastboot.
But when I try the command "fastboot oem unlock". I get an error code with "Remote: Please flash unlock code".
I was able to get the unlock code using another fastboot command, but I haven't been able to find out how to either apply it, flash it, or maybe I missed something?

You must get the BL unlock token from OnePlus.

So I had my phone rooted with twrp and magisk and I used msm tool to switch to international which seems to have put my phone back to the stock tmo firmware and now.i am unable to unlock my device state with the unlock_code.bin and my bootloader is locked. Says I am still sim unlocked though. Any help?
Was able to figure it out and reflash the unlock token
Hi Experts,
I just bought an unlocked OnePlus 7 pro.
I confirmed that it is unlocked. If I go into settings, wi-fi & internet, Advance (Network Unlock) ==> It says the following "This mobile device is permanently unlocked and can be used with any carrier!".
So now, I turn on the developer mode, USB debugging, OEM Unlocking, and boot into Boot Loader mode.
In boot loader mode, I see at the bottom of the screen that it is locked.
Now I try the following command from my machine (connected via USB to the device) ==> "fastboot oem unlock"
I get the following error ==> "FAILED (remote: 'Please flash unlock token first.')"
So what am I doing wrong?
OR is it that even if it is SIM unlocked, I still need another UNLOCK for boot loader?
I saw the method to request it from T-Mobile via OnePlus website,
But my question is if it is already carrier unlocked, do I still need that "bin" file for boot loader unlock?
If that is true, then I suppose I have to request it, wait 7 days right?
Is there any way to do this, without this craziness?
Use the msmtool here. If you haven't already.
