I just got the Pixel 3a and can't seem to get the call screen to work. No Call Screen option in the Phone settings and no option when I'm getting a call. All the instructions I found are for the Pixel 3.

That should be included with the phone app.

hello, I found out that you have to update the phone app in the play store. What country are you in?
Hello I am in the UK, and the phone app is fully updated for me. I've seen people have modified the code for the pixel 3 to allow for global call screening. Hopefully as the 3a will have a the same sort of community.

Hi, this is my first time posting here, and i wanted to share a guide for mix2s owner here.
I have found a way to enable google pixel 3 call screening feature. Inspired by this post by coolsid8
and this post by syndre
I have enabled the call screen feature on my device, so let's jump right in to it
Requirement:
- Miui 8.11.15 Beta
- Have Magisk installed
- Have root file explorer (something like FX)
- Google Phone v26 magisk from syndre
How:
1. Flash the magisk module provided by syndre to install google phone app and contacts
2. Follow the guide from the post by coolsid8 to change the flags
3. Force stop the phone and reboot your device
4. open phone setting and you will see the call screen menu
5. Wait for additional file to download over wifi
You won't hear the google assistant voice but the speech to text dictation is working.
It was turned on, why the caller couldn't hear any Google assistant, and there was no sound after the call was connected

I saw the post you shared, and the author said that this feature can only be successful in the pixel series.I think Google must have a discriminative mechanism, so I modified the build as pixel but failed.
Hi, i am using the Chinese version of the Find X2 pro and I just can't seem to get the it to work for notifications.
It works just fine when I get calls, but it doesn't do anything when I receive messages from like WhatsApp or WeChat etc.
I have the "light effects for lock screen" option turned on but it still doesn't work Does anyone here know a fix?

Same here. Never noticed this working on mine either now you mention it. China spec in UK also.
Doesn't work with global rom in UK either! I use True Edge from google play store, but even that is hit and miss (and it's not brilliant on the battery). Not sure why a company who doesn't include a notification LED doesn't do more for other methods of notifying.

Bizarre (seems to be the buzz word for this phone). I got mine from Netherlands, and running EU rom, but they don't work for me.
Anyone got these Lock Screen Notifications working?
I've got the settings and it works lighting up, but only once, then it just stops which sort of defeats the object ?

It's only lighting up once or twice. Don't expect more. It's ok like that. If you want more then install from playstore. There a couple of apps which has similar settings for incoming messages calls, etc.

Can I ask you which update you have now , mine received update once only and may security until now
Yeah same issue here. Always On display is the only workaround I can think of.
With no LED they need a way to let you know of missed calls and text messages..
Can anyone recommend an alternative app?

Notify Edge
All are *huge* battery suckers
Currently using Notify Buddy by Xander Apps. Seems to be the best for battery useage and lights up a circle (which is an absolute PITA to position). I have it perpendicular to the camera punch on right of screen. Works for *most* apps but not all.
Don't agree with the comment about notification only lighting once or twice is useful. We have notification sounds for that!

I think this is more if you are away from your phone or it's on silent. You want to be able to glance at your phone and know if there is something important pending. (like a missed call). At this point in time without Always on Display there is no way to do this.

i think always on display is the best option. at least it's a factory app designed to be run all the time.
For anyone not sure it's called "Screen off Clock" in the Oppo settings.

Took an age for me to "find" the LED on screen. Had to manually position and then use the overly-sensitive pseudo mouse to eventually find it. Move it a millimetre and it's gone again!
Similar issue on my UK purchased device, just over a month now, one update since purchase - CPH2025CPW_11_A.24 (still on June security patch!!)
Initially screen light effect for lock screen notifications worked but in the last few days has stopped lighting up for messages. Works fine for incoming calls though...
So I converted to the Global Rom. So far so great. Much better than being stuck on TMO. We get Google dialer instead of the one plus dialer which I like better but really doesn't fit with the skin OP has. Anyways when I play a voice mail and put my phone up to my face the screen goes off but the message stops playing. Am I missing a setting somewhere?
Is your face hitting some button before the screen actually turns off?
I am using the global ROM that came installed on my phone but I am on AT&T and I do not have this problem. I cannot think of any setting that would be related to this.

No, I just get it close enough to hear and watch the screen. As soon as the screen goes off the sound stops. Otherwise the Rom is flawless.

I have the same issue. Converted from TMO to global.
Same thing happens to me. I just play VMs via speakerphone (the button to the left of play/pause) instead.
visual voicemail doesn't work on global. I use the standalone tmo vvm app from the playstore.

I am from the Philippines using an unlocked T Mobile V60. After reading this post, I checked the update in settings and saw this too. I am not sure I want to press the button though. I'll wait for braver souls to try it first I guess.
I like it so far. Even snappier. Mic and camera controls are nice.
One bug already: screenshot share and edit buttons do not do anything.

So I took the plunge and updated to 12. Screenshot edit and share works with no problems. I didn't do a factory reset.

I just found the problem: I had all animations to 0 in developer options. They need to be on at least .5 for share and edit of screenshots.
I was unable to type using any keyboard when using Naver Whale browser. Other browsers worked fine though. I had to manually update Naver Whale browser to enable typing again. This only happened after upgrading to 12.

i have a t-mobile v60. i checked the system update page and i can see it but the download will not work. can anyone please send me the link to download the update so i can manually flash my phone?
I just got bought a used v60 TMobile variant and I'm trying to get it unlocked for my carrier here in Canada....I tried one site and they were unable to provide an unlock code (possibly the original owner didn't pay their bill). The IMEI comes up clean here when I ran it but I may be forced to have a remote unlock from what appears to be a reputable company online. They want to flash the v600vm kdz to unlock it.
It has android 12 update ready to download but I held off because
1. I don't know if it will affect being able to get it unlocked or flash the other variant firmware
2. I wanted to wait to see if there are issues with android 12 on it.
But I'm wondering if it's at all possible the android 12 firmware is no longer locked?
Any suggestions for my particular situation?

Anyone get display not registering movements/taps?
I thought that this was an issue with the drawing over other apps functionality that A12 has been cracking down on (Tasker, Pixel Filter, etc.), but even disabling/removing the aforementioned apps, this still happens intermittently, which renders that phone useless randomly. No matter how many times I lock/try to unlock the phone (via fingerprint), the screen just does not register taps/swipes...
And yes, this happened from A11-A12 upgrade, and is still present after doing a factory reset on A12.
I did a FDR and I still have several bugs.

Can you be more specific? Are you in the photo or video mode for example? Have you tried deleting the cache (and/or data) of the camera app, and trying again?
EDIT: Are you using battery saver mode perhaps? I know when you are using extreme battery saver (or whatever it's called), camera app becomes real basic, and there is no settings menu.

Smart Lock notification was stuck in the settings menu, Bluetooth initial connection bug, when a folder is created to group apps and you click the plus to add + select the apps you want and click done, they are not added. These are the initial ones I've noticed. I've had a few times where I went to go back to a certain screen and it studders. Google Map when it's small cause you have to take a call or go to something else and try to click the square box won't maximize, you have to go to the app icon and select it. I do run Google bets apps. These apps didn't give me issues prior to update though.

The update now available in the United States or maybe all of North America not sure... But there is a solution... try to change your location "VPN USA" and you will get the update

Yes I did it, with lg up following this metod, https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/v60-demo-unit-questions.4325951/page-5 first update to android 11 and then jump to 12. be carefull with the steps.
I was able to use accessibility settings on my OG Pixel and Pixel 3 to enable a confirmation beep when Google Assistant has been activated (after I say "OK Google") but I can't seem to find a way to do that on my Pixel 7 Pro. Can anyone help?

Also here it is not working to enable switch access...
In Google Assistant settings through the Google app you go to accessibility and the options are there and working for me. Not sure if they've recently moved or been changed but I've never used whatever switch access is.
Can confirm that you have to have both of the settings enabled in the screenshot above in order to hear a beep. I don't even have voice active enabled.

Nobody's ever mentioned that setting before but I already had that enabled. I get a confirmation beep when I'm using Bluetooth or Android Auto but not when it's just my phone.
I screwed mine up recently. The above settings were set before, and I've gotten a beep since I got it. Post-screwup, I tried accessibility settings to no avail. Things that were changed beforehand (perhaps - new P7P and I've been both tinkering around and busy - plus I sometimes plug in a DAC and use Neutron Player, which is very possessive. So I can't recall when I noticed the lack of a beep precisely within a day's usage).
So, things that might have affected it:
I allowed Google Assistant to access my screen, and I enabled flash screen when it does so.
I upgraded from the December to January patch.
I upgraded, afterwards, with the small Play Store patch.
I enabled... what's it called - verbal shortcuts like "Answer" that don't require "Hey Google" first. <- Given that Google's reason for zapping the beep was to save response time, I'm suspicious of this, but I've changed quite a bit, so further testing is required.
I'll post if I get the beep back.

It's daft that this is even an issue that can't be solved simply with a toggle. Or better, actually asking Assistant to reply when summoned with a beep or phrase, perhaps "Yes, Sir?" In an era with ChatGPT, we ought to be able to at least choose efficient or chummy. Google knows more about me than most friends, they could at least be friendly about it.

And I've generally got things set to try out everything no matter how intrusive. Hey - it's the first phone I've actively chosen since my Note 4; I wanted to see what we've been given for all that's been taken away. I'm disappointed at all the features that ought to be helpful to my aged father, but are too difficult to use for someone intelligent that can't learn new things well. I'm also seeing just how vastly intrusive it is while saying, carefully, that it isn't. GrapheneOS may be in my future - perhaps because I simply can (goodbye forever, dedicated Verizon phones).]
Just tried Hey Google and ok Google. Both produced the same result, the Google Assistant pops up without a beep.
